And why would Barney go to him? Was Barney supposed to chase him around the stage looking for a handshake. Taylor was the one who started jumping around the stage. Barney stayed where he was. I cannot fathom how Barney could be in the wrong there. Yeah, Barney pulled him back. Clearly Barney was saying something and Taylor was ignorant and wouldn't listen. Unless Barney was abusing him, then Taylor was in the wrong.

It was as clear as day that Taylor acted like a cnut. It's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last. If you want to defend him, then fair enough. But he acted like a complete cnut for the second time in 3 days.
 
Bit odd- I know Barney had that kidnapping or blackmail threat thing for a bit. All sounds a bit of a storm in a teacup to be honest.
Anyway, hope Barney can take heart from that fightback next year.

Ha! No hate on my part. Just lost a huge amount of respect for Taylor over the last few days. And Sky constantly licking his hole and not pulling him up on stuff is sickening. I was up for him (well one of 2-3) before the start of the tournament.

I would imagine that the crowd will be really behind Van Gerwen on Tuesday. We may see another Taylor reaction, win or lose. To be fair, Taylor is usually a good loser.
 
We don't really know what went on so the speculation is idle at best. You know the crowd will be 80% behind Taylor unless MVG keeps pulling off legs like those two in that set.
StuCol- like I said before, people wanting Barney to win over Taylor is no disrespect to the big man, just others would like the fairytale of Barney coming back, or Wade winning his first etc...
 
James Wade is fat as feck. I barely recognised him after like 2 years of not really watching. His semi was brilliant, that near double 9 darter had me all over the place.
 
Chill guys, don't turn this taylor/barney thing into a RAWK debacle like after a loss to stoke lol. Agree that Taylor acted out of hand but upon a second look I wonder why Barney didn't congratulate him earlier, must have been very intense on the oche. Anyway really looking forward to MVG taking on Taylor, could well be seeing a change of guard in transition, that is if MVG can keep up this amazingly red hot form. Just glad Adrian Lewis is not there to defend his title, can't stand that ugly blonde of his.

As for Phil he's a bit like Man United, even though he supports stoke lol. Many people dislike him because he keeps winning. I still think he's the favourite for the final because he's been there 19 times and won it 15. MVG has to prove he can deliver the goods in the final. Good luck to both of them!
 
I don't understand this Barney should have congratulated Taylor bit. He did, he just didn't run after him to do it. Taylor was the one who went bouncing around the stage. Barney stood where he was and congratulated Taylor as soon as he went back over to the oche.

Handbags anyway.

Watch next time he's on stage throwing and how his glass is full on the table before he's walked onto the stage (vodka), compared to his opponent who'll pour some water into a glass.

It's a huge shame, as i think he's a great player & could be one of the best if he focus' his mind on it.

Cracking match last night, just a shame that Barney didn't start playing until the match was almost out of reach. He genuinely had Taylor rattled for a while, and it might have been different if he'd played well from the start.

He uses his hand/arm to throw a sharp thing at a round thing for a living, he can't be risking hand/arm/shoulder injuries before a final. If he jolts his shoulder out, how can he compete?

I happen to agree with you. For the first time I think Taylor has seen something in MVG which is the equivalent of a darting Armageddon.

That is a pretty ridiculous statement given all that Taylor has achieved. MVG is clearly at a level above when he is on song though. Will be interesting to see if he can sustain it for long enough in the final and whether this Barney nonsense will distract Taylor.

The SkySports article that Liam posted makes it sound dramatic with Taylor saying he could walk away from the game and Barney upset. All a bit melodramatic, granted.
 
Taylor is classless prick at times everyone knows that. Hes also been a very good loser which makes him so difficult to figure out. I reckon his personal life is affecting him more than we know.

Everyone seems to be of the impression that Taylor is a prick and Barney a saint. Ffs, what were they blackmailing Barney about in the first place. Taylor is an English sporting legend, and most of you spouting this shit about him are massive Hippocrites as you support Manchester United. Think about the shit out club has done. Taylor himself has admitted he is ashamed of his post match actions and has apologised to Barney. It had nothing to do with his "darting arm" being twisted!

Taylor was wound up and reacted badly. Nothing more than that.
 
I thought Barney tugged his left arm rather than his (right) throwing arm but can't be arsed to watch it again. Anyhoo, god people say footballers are melodramatic...
 
I understand people saying that Taylor's only done what SAF has, but if I wasn't a Utd fan, I wouldnt think it was right. In fact, I dont, but cos I'm a united fan, I dont mind. I hope MVG takes him tomorrow, and Stu, I see that you're a bit of a fanboi for Talyor, but it doesn't change the fact that he plays the media/fans for him. Nor does it change me wanting MVG to win tomorrow.

The media, as in Sky who were televising it, barely said a word to him after they initially asked him. They didn't make him out to be a prick. Sky are so far up his hole that they wouldn't there.

Taylor wouldn't have apologised if he was in the right.

Wow man thats a rant and a half and absolutely full of shit. Wdf does United have to with it? Do you honestly think Barney was trying to hurt Taylor or sometihng or was he simply trying to clarify wdf Taylor was crying about?

Hes a great champion we all know but as a man hes can be a right prick as well. There also a very valid reason reason this particular legend hasnt been recognised offically.
