Jones & Rojo next please.
Dalot won't even be present at start of the season, same as Young. We are entering the season with only 2 FBs available for the first 2-3 games and even later, Dalot is just under experiment this season.
Darmian and Blind were still squad options present on need. We aren't going to sell them without adding at least one for squad depth.
Darmian, Blind, Carrick, off our wage bill, great news. Should be around 215.000 / week.
If Darmian to Juventus is done then hopefully that means we've agreed a reasonable price for Alex Sandro.
How is Darmian good enough for Juventus but not able to get a game for us ahead of Valencia or Young? This is a baffling turn of events. All we need now is for Real Madrid to swoop in for Smalling.
I thought Carrick was on at least that himself
Because it's a completely different league, and different players suit different styles of play. Italian players are notoriously bad travellers to other countries. Have a glance at the Wikipedia entry on Italian premier league players, it's a who's who of disasters.
May have gotten less money when signing his extension? Googled it, not sure if true:
Blind: 75.000£ / w
Darmian: 60.000£ / w
Carrick: 80.000£ / w
Young is on 110.000£ / w
Please be true
Incredible that Young would be on 30k a week more than Carrick given what they have brought to the club.
Didn’t Carrick sign a contract extension just 1-2 years ago?Incredible that Young would be on 30k a week more than Carrick given what they have brought to the club.

Selling Blind and Darmian means buying a full back for sure.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I'd like to think so as well, but not necessarily. Dalot will take Darmian's place in the squad with Valencia as first choice. Even with Blind leaving, we've still got Young, Rojo and Shaw as LB options. That's not even taking into account of youth players like Mitchell. We may be short on quality full backs, but we've got the numbers, so selling Darmian and Blind for Dalot doesn't mean that we're buying another full back for sure imo. I mean the original plan was to presumably sell all of Darmian, Blind and Shaw for Dalot and Sandro, so with Shaw staying, it's not as certain.People were asking why Blind was left in Europe, but Darmian was taken in the US. Here's the answer - Juve's flying for a pre season tour in the US as well. Selling Blind and Darmian means buying a full back for sure.
Would be the case I suppose. Although Dalot can play on both LB and RB and we have Valencia, Young, Rojo, TFM, Mitchell who can all play as fullbacks. Hope we can get a LB, but I'm still not convinced we will.
I imagine Carrick isn’t working for free.
Dalot out till September
I know, but Mourinho might think we have enough cover with Valencia/TFM/Dalot (september) and Young/Shaw/Mitchell/Rojo.

Technical ineptitude, poor defensive awareness and the inablity to cross the ball?I think he'll do really well for Juve, Serie A suits his style of play more.
We've bought one, and Shaw is staying and looking revved up to give it a proper shot if he's allowed to.
I know a full back is deemed as vital by many on here, but I'm not so sure myself, Valencia, Dalot, And Jones (if desperate) can play RB, then Young, Shaw, and Rojo (if desperate) can play LB, I just don't see it, plus there's players like Mitchell, and TFM if really needed.
When you consider we literally have no natural RW, or credible competition for Lukaku, then surely our priorities should lie elsewhere.
Mitchell will probably go out on loan again and Jose said Rojo isn't a good LB so i dont think he'll play there.

You're not his biggest fan then? Can someone tell me who is this guy raimondi? And why are we taking what he says as gospel? I really want this to happen, departure of darmian is like a new signing for me so i need confirmation befoee any excitement. I have never such a spineless and pointless player playing for us. He is actually a coward.

Basically, this. There's 2 major 'schools' of defending in Italy. The AC Milan school of thought which rely on top notch defenders like Nesta, Maldini, Stam, Cafu and Baresi. Then there's the Juventus school of thought which rely on hardworking tough tackling 'Gary Neville' type of defenders which are rather not great individually but are quite impressive as a unit. Thus you see players like Barzagli, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Di Livio and Torricelli.
The latter line of thought allow Juventus to do very well while spending little money in terms of salaries/fees. Yet its not perfect. Juventus doesn't think that you need to overpay defenders. All they need to have is the right attitude and the ability to merge into the collective. Players did broke ranks because of it. We've seen Bonucci leaving last year and Sandro threatening to do the same this year.
Darmian provide Juventus with options. He can play on the left and on the right. He also allow Juventus to stick to their school of thought and while I am not a big fan of him, I can see him stick in the tactical rigid system Juventus use. He won't be needed to attack or cross simply because Dybala, Pjanic, Ronaldo, Costa and Bernardeschi can provide plenty of fire power. Why insist on keeping a ferrari who drinks fuel like a drunk at wetherspoon to go to work when a fiat panda can do?
If things work then they get a decent replacement for Sandro. If it fails, well they will sell him and recoup the pocket money they'll probably pay us for Darmian.
You're not his biggest fan then?
Does Darmian have fans?
