His dribbling is quite good, however his ball control, for me, could still do with a lot of work.

You're mad! Easily in the top 5 in our team in terms of carrying the ball at pace and his first touch is probably top 5, top 6 at least. His passing's very good for a forward and his finishing technique is excellent it's just his composure that lets him down. He's a really gifted player technically.

I'd say his finishing is really his weak spot at the moment, but I've no doubts that will all change next season.

They mentioned in the game that he hasn't scored in 7. This surprised me, which I think shows how well he's been playing. His overall contribution is very good.

A lot of young strikers are less prolific in their early years. The likes of RVP, Drogba and even Rooney all took a while before their finishing became clinical. All things considered Welbeck has had a more than decent goal return this season. The main thing is that he is contributing to the performances of the team.

Nope, would have to disagree with that there. I think calling him a 'special' technical player is taking it too far at the moment. He potentially could be, however at the moment he's not. His dribbling is quite good, however his ball control, for me, could still do with a lot of work. The clumbsy moments on the ball have still been happening far too much this season.

His physical development has been rapid, but I think it's just about finished now. He's still growing, but he's strong and quite big as well.

His technical ability is fine. He just needs to work on his finishing. He has a certain style. Always has..

If you can have one criticism it's his goalscoring record. For all his excellent performances and superb link up play, he nowhere near clinical. There have been quite a few occasions of late where he's got into an excellent position and fluffed his lines/had shots cleared off the line. I'd say he's the least clinical of our current crop of strikers, despite being the usual first choice.

with regards to his finishing i'm reminded of something Ruud said in an interview about his career and how when he was a young played he was more inclined to try the fancier things or to score the prettier finishes. Then he took a training session with gullit (i think) during which he chipped the keeper from far out only for it to come back off the bar, ruud was quite pleased with the effort but gullit just pointed out the fact he missed, from then on ruud became far more focussed on just putting the chance away and worrying about style afterwards.

I can see parts of Dannys game like that, he's got such a good touch and turn and he clearly likes to play one-twos and little slide passes around the box but i dont doubt he's got the ability to be far more ruthless and it'll come eventually, playing at the top level regularly will teach him that. i've no doubt he'll become a regular 20 goal a season man in a couple of years, he's an excellent footballer

he got to get off his shot. he sometimes trys one more touch. hit it. other than that he and chich are getting better evey match

He definitely needs to work on steadying himself in front of goal, but he's had a touch of bad fortune with some of his efforts (hitting the woodwork, drawing top saves from the opposition keeper, etc).

The good thing is that he's actually managing to get in goalscoring positions on a consistent basis. Even better is that a lot of these chances have resulted from his own good work in and around the penalty area. Once he gets a cooler head on his shoulders and starts to rely on his instincts more he'll be banging them in.

True, he's still getting in the positions and plugging away, rather than a certain Chelsea striker that seems to be hiding.

He's the real deal. Oozes class with his holdup play and linkup play. He's a very, very effective footballer who's having a bit of bad luck infront of goal.

Exactly. When Chich doesn't score for a few games he gets quite a bit of stick but it's testiment of how well he's been playing that's he's still getting in the side and the fact he hasn't been scoring hasn't been an issue.

Welbecks hold up play, first touch and general technique on the ball is berbaesque.

He is very similar in that sense but also ALOT faster.

He impressed me alot playing off the wing against brom, almost like a barcelona style inside forward.

Our overall play again improved once he came on, such a good talent.

Agreed. Pogba is getting a lot of praise for the improvement in our football when he came on but I actually think Welbeck was just as influential. He dropped deep and really helped out in midfield.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if people watching on lo-def streams (and/or listening to the grossly incompetent commentators on lo def terrestrial tv in England/Ireland) got the two of them mixed up at times!

Another reason why he should be picked before Hernandez, he just adds so much more and can help us create chances when our midfield is again unable to create just half a chance

Pogba, and Welbeck coming on injected much needed pace and energy into the team.

It's a freaking shame that we had to introduce two 20 year olds to bring that into the team. IMHO, Fergie needs to have a close look at the experienced players and question their attitude (if you look at the whole season).

Which experienced players if you don't mind me asking? I will probably agree on certain players.

He did very well to come off the bench and play like that. Held the ball well in tight situations.

Good to see him on the scoresheet again. He needed that after struggling a bit in front of goal recently.

Yeah when he had the stumble when it looked like he had a great opportunity, thought man this guy is crumbling when presented with good chances - the goal should hopefully do wonders.

The rest of his game, the little interplay with Rooney on the left touchline, the way he took the ball before Zubar wiped him out, he's really got some abilty.

He is brilliant at combining with other players, just look his pass for Valencia when Hernandez scored his 2nd goal.

inadvertently sent up the second falling over when in on goal then wolves had that corner then valencia had wolves.

his play around the area is fabulous.

He needs to have more awareness of what's ahead and around him when he runs with the ball and approaching the box. Outside it, his general play is excellent for someone his age and experience

Obviously needs to be more ruthless in front of the goal as he could have had a second, but his general play is so good. And the way he tracks back is underrated at times as well. I think a consistent lineup with him would benefit him the most.

I love watching him play. Probably my favorite player to watch at the moment.

This lad is really coming into his own at the moment, he's strong, quick and his movement is excellent. The lad has got a great attitude works so hard for the team.....

Such a wonderful attitude, just as lovable as Chicharito, never a downcast look and always plays with joy. Exactly the sort of young player you want on your team.

If you wonder how Berbatov isn't getting more games, look no further.

Every season, apart from watching your favorite team, there's always that one player whose progression/performances that you're most looking forward to see... This year it's been Welbeck for me.

Although he's still looking a bit clumsy at times (legs got all tangled up again when he got played through on goal shortly after the first goal), you can see his undeniable talent. I still am close to tearing my hair out when he sometimes goes into shit finishing mode, but that can and will be improved. The basics are there in abundence.

His celebration when Hernandez scored his 2nd goal :lol::lol::lol:

I think he was more excited than Hernandez!
