worked his socks off today. Thought he should come off around the 70th minute as he was working so hard and things were just starting to come undone for him but cant argue with him staying on either.

Rooney wasnt too pleased with him near end for a few things.

I swear I didn't see this..

The shot he blazed over with his left foot, Rooney def did have a go at him. He showed some great work and fantastic touches but, did have a couple of wtf Welbz moments. Should have shot earlier when he went for the cross/cut back to Rooney.

What an amazing problem for Fergie to have - start him or Chicha, or even Berbatov.

Welbeck was unlucky today, it didn't quite go for him. I had to laugh when he did a few step-overs and then kicked it into touch!
He looked lively though and I'm glad Fergie kept him on as subbing him might have knocked his confidence a bit.

He's great at leading the line already. He works hard, is a physical threat and keeps defenders occupied.

Fergie said he isn't even fully developed physically yet either, what a monster player he'll become

He has the best work ethic in our team...kept winning the ball back, creating pressure and forcing mistakes.

He was great today, some of his short one touch passing was fantastic and his work ethic is fantastic. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite players.

He was indeed but he needed to be subbed just before Liverpool scored, gave away a couple of needless fouls towards the end.Berbatov or Park would have been better options but at times they couldn't handle him

Thought he was good for the first 70 minutes but towards the end showed his inexperience giving the ball away easily when holding onto possession was the better decision.

Really good player, just a bit of a rough edge with his finishing/decision making still though. Love his attitude.

Love how he tracks back and doesnt dwell on a mistake too much. His control is quite good. I really think right now he offers more than Hernandez thats why hes starting but having Chico come off the bench is quite handy as well.

Such a great thing to having so many great young players. Glad welbeck has made it so far. Dont remember the last time a striker came through for us. Hughes?

He had a great game today. His touch looks better every week, he just needs to add more goals and assists to his game.

I thought I heard people singing ''your just a black something something'' to him today.

I can't wait for everything to click for Welbeck, it's not far away.

He's already such a good player for his age.. I am sure if he's in some other close rival's team and we will be complaining here how come other teams' youth system could produce such a potential strike-force!??

He really make his presence felt, with his run with the ball.. the shield of ball etc..

the best player on the park for the first 45, and by some distance too imo.
liverpool crowded him out a lot better 2nd half which in turn gave rooney the extra space to work in.
we've got quite the partnership developing there

I think once he gains some more confidence in the box and with his finishing, he'll be a perfect forward for us.

Just interested in views... do you guys think Welbeck should be playing ahead of Hernandez then? Who would you have as Rooney's partner?

That is a tough one to answer. I think both players are fantastic in thier own right, but both offer something different to the team Wellbeck puts in a monster of a shift, works hard and leads the line very well, linking things up nicely. Chicho offers deadlyness in the box, an out and out poacher with real pace and composure in the box. It is a fantastic problem for SAF to have, but think it is right at the moment. Wellbeck to start, Chicho to finish them off from the bench.

This is a tough one and stupid as well.

It depends on form, formation, who's playing in midfield and opponent. Football is not as simple as Football Manager is.

I love how he pulls high balls out of the air with his big gangly legs.

Lesser players would clumsily knock it away from themselves but Danny pulls it down perfectly and automatically has the opposition defence on the back foot.

He also seems to be on a very good wavelength with Rooney (almost Saha-esque from 06/07). Their close passing play around the box is very promising.

It's a tough one, and to be honest, I don't think it really has a definitive answer. Both should be used in different situations, as they are completely different types of forwards. Hopefully, Fergie is a good judge of when each of them should be playing.

He still has that youthful exuberance for showing off a little too often but he's such a promising player. The way he's slotted right in and performed say's everything

The two of them plus Cleverley will play some breathtaking football when they're all together.

How likely is it that one of those individual highlights videos will pop up for Danny yesterday, I missed the match and apparently there were some fantastic touches from him.

Thought he was absolute class yesterday. He's going to be amazing.

I dont think i've seen a forward win back so many balls from the opposition

His control with back to goal has become first class, his movement is good and his interplay with his team-mates is good

Chico is gonna have a tough time getting starts with Danny in this type of form. As someone else mentioned earlier, cant wait to see them link up with Cleverley!

Hernandez has always looked destined to fulfil a Solskjaer-esque impact-sub role to me. He's that kind of 'get me a goal' type player.

I still think Hernandez will be better suited to the team once we have a more creative midfielder, whether that being Cleverley living up to his potential or a new signing. We need Welbeck to get more involved in the build up in the absence of a dominant creative midfielder, which isn't Hernandez's strong point.

Love the fact Welbeck is one of us being local and love the fact he works so hard for the team.

Gifted player. His loan away really has done him wonders.
