Danny Ings | Signs for Liverpool (lol)

I remember someone posting a tweet saying something about our signings next season won't be 'flashy' but what the club needs. Maybe this is the case with Ings.

The green laughing smilie is the universal signal for a man with a poor football intellect. I am sorry for you pal.

I appreciate your attempt at condescension but the laughing smiley was indicative of me thinking you were making a joke, if you are serious then it is you who have my pity.

Didn't really ever watch Ligue 1 though.Ings is an option in my opinion and I can see some sense in the transfer.Wouldn't say that he's my first choice.

I don't think Ings should be an option as anything but a mid table club striker, I've seen him play plenty and he has no standout qualities at all, he's not even the best England U21 striker.

Think he'd be a good signing, in the thread about City's summer signings I said they should look to move for him and I'd be quite happy if we got him, still quite young, cheap, homegrown. It's obvious that Falcao is gone at the end of the season and I don't think it'd surprise many if RvP went as well, we're not going to have stars all over the squad and with one up top he'd be a good third choice option (assuming he's not coming in to replace RvP), one of those signings where even if it doesn't work out and he isn't good enough we'd still get his fee + some more back. I'd be all for it.

Out of contract and will cost 5m at max!
Out of contract next year and will have the likes if Liverpool and Tottenham willing to take him. We bought Young under similar circumstances for £16m. I think we will have to pay £10m+ for Ings.

I absolutely believe a nucleus of local players is the key to long-term success. So we should always priorities signing the best young English players over whoever is flavour of the month in the continent. Haven't watched enough of Ings to know how good he really is but he was excellent against United. Caused us more problems than Harry Kane, anyway.

No this summer.

I had hoped for our 3 strikers next season to be Rooney, Dybala and Wilson. This is very underwhelming.

Good mid table prem striker, but we're one of the biggest clubs in world football. Can't see a fit with us tbh. If we stick with the lone striker formation and Rooney gets injured, I wouldn't be happy to see Danny Ings leading our assault on goal for both the Prem and Champions League :/

We haven't bought him yet, and to be fair it's only a debate. As a signing it's unlikely.

Think LVG has high hopes for Wilson who's apparently brilliant in training and he'll add another quality striker

You assume RvP is sold also. Rooney, RvP, Ings sounds nicely balanced IMO.

Wilson would then need a loan, though..

I think LvG is convinced that we'll play a one striker system and needs someone who will play the odd game in Rooney's absence and not complain about starts/sub appearances.

This summer, not next. It'll be around the 5m mark.

You honesty see some nonsense posted in threads like these. We play one lad up top, that lad is currently Wayne Rooney and he's class. Will be our all time top scorer at the end of next year. If we go into the season with him in our squad, a player who can get about 10 goals for an awful Burnley team and also Wilson who we all think will do well, I'm sure that'll be fine.

I think this would be a great signing for 3/4th striker.

Really like his ability to link the play in the build-up. Would have a good enough resale value if he didn't make it.

Definitely worth it.

The nonsense is the idea that if anything happens to Wayne we'd be fine with Ings and Wilson as our options, when we'd be far from fine as one is a kid and the other has proven nothing and only had one season in the PL where he's totted up 9 goals.
