He makes things happen whether through skill or pace. That directness is much needed.

Always looked lively and an excellent cross for the goal. Been our best signing I think.

Finally Rashford decided to meet his low cross. His crosses this season would have looked far better if our players were moving better.

MOTM for me. He's a brave little bastard ain't he? Quality ball in for the goal and he wasn't afraid to pick up the ball and take players on. Top class signing.

In his first few games, my biggest criticism of him was that he'd duck out of 50/50s quite frequently. It reminded me of Mkhitaryan, who seemed to avoid any sort of physicality at all costs.

Now he's gone the full opposite way and is ducking out of nothing. Good on him, it's great to see that level of commitment.

Love everything about James, what a signing he's been so far. Needs to be protected by his teammates and the referees since he's always getting some nasty challenges in every game.

The Fabinho challenge and the lack of reaction from Atkinso is a direct result of the reputation he's developped of being a diver. I thought that was shocking from Atkinson. Referees should apologize to players when they get it wrong like that

Again, made infinitely worse when your dickhead of an international manager says you were "acting" after being clattered on international duty.

Great little player. I love his attitude and he is showing he is more than a pace merchant as some posters touted him to be. He is what a United player should be.

He's done well but the concern is he only looks good for us because we are mid-table counter attacking side, I dont know if he is going to be a first team player if we ever become a top team again dominating sides and having to constantly deal with being up against 2 banks of 4.

Of course he can. He's still adding stuff to his game but there's no reason a flying winger cannot work in a proactive team, look at Sane for City

Can't fault his effort, only icing on the cake today other than not conceding a sloppy as feck goal would have been one of our players dishing out a bit in return, i was hoping for a McT wipe out but it never came.

Looking every bit a Utd player and proving many of the doubters wrong on here and long should it continue.....

He was great today. I’m not too concerned about the battering he’s taking (as long as we are rightly getting the decisions) as this will only toughen him up in the long run, much like a good kicking early in his career here did Ronaldo no harm in the long term.

I’d much rather see an uncomplaining, resilient James just keep bouncing back up rather than one crying for protection every five minutes.

He’s got some fight and feistiness in him and is perhaps a good example of the British mentality OGS bangs on about.

I didn’t think I’d be saying he’s been our most impressive player this season. I was expecting him to see mainly cup games and a few league games. A breath of fresh air.
Just shows you can run around a lot and actually get on the ball quite a bit also. Take note Lingard.

If you put Thanos from Marvel against James, James wouldnt be scared of him, he'd challenge thanos for the ball no matter how tough Thanos is.

He just keeps playing and trying hard everytime.
He doesn't seem to care about things surrounding the club. He'll be successful.

I just love watching this kid. His results and stats are great, for anybody, let alone a young lad new to EPL, but beyond even that - Dan is just such fireball of energy and grit. We got a proper United player in him and I wish him all the success he deserves. We are a far better team for having him in the squad.

Best game in a while, constantly running at them, fantastic cross for the goal and he was clattered twice with zero protection from the ref, there's already a "diving" agenda building against him and Giggs didn't help with his comments.

He is the United type winger we have been searching for years! He is one main reason I am still watching United games this season.

Really surprised that he managed to hit the ground running in the manner he did. Seems to be a quality player. As the time passes I'm no longer thinking he's only looking good because we're shiit, but he's genuinely a very talented player.

We will have a Rashford vs James debate soon. One of them should be shoehorned to that right wing position. Should probably be James.

There's a real humility about him that everyone can get on board with. You can see he genuinely feels like playing for United is a privilege, and he's going to do everything he possibly can to ensure he remains here for as long as possible.

When he first arrived there were concerns about his technical ability, and that he can be nullified by denying him space to run into. There was signs of that to begin with, but the technical aspect of is game is really coming along now. He does a good job of holding the ball up for such a diminutive player, and his link up play with Rashford at times yesterday was excellent. Great signing.

One of the most shrewd signings in recent memory. We should always be signing a few players like him every transfer window. $15 mil is a bargain really. Now let's find a midfield version of Daniel James. If there is one good thing out of Ole's time here, it's identifying players like Daniel James. It's something that should be our long term strategy but we should extend it to other leagues, too. Sign young cheap players like that out of more obscure leagues like Croatian, Belgian, even French, too. Always very solid players there. It's low risk high reward. We can afford to sign two players like that every transfer window.

As for James, boy oh boy. Looks like we have a player on our hands. Imagine him a year from now with a year of PL experience under his belt. Filthy! Filthy player!

fecking love this lad, runs his socks off and his delivery is slowly but steadily improving too.
