What a kid. I can't remember being so happy for someone to get a debut goal like that. He'll be managed well by Ole and no doubt he'll have his up and down games, but he's going to have a great impact on our season, I feel.

Same. Usually when a new signing or youth player scores or even plays well my first thought is how exciting this is for the club. On Sunday I was happier for him more than us.

Maybe it was just a reaction to seeing the unfiltered joy in his celebration, but it was a special moment.

Yeah, it was crazy, felt extremely personal and quite removed from football at that point.

Neville was right about this part of his interview
Was the interview where he was talking about 3 pools of players we usually have in the side?

1 Youth
2 Best PL talent
3 Young emerging international talent

And never going after the world's best players. Which I totally agree with.

He has the potential to become a starter with his acceleration, speed and work ethics. At the moment it’s good for his development to be a sub and don’t have so much pressure on his shoulders.

We need players with that X factors who can change the dynamics especially when we’re even or one down late in the games. Without Fellaini then Dan James can be that player.

From what I can see I expect Lingard to later on in the season be more of a attacking midfielder. I also think that Pereira isn’t consistent enough to play regularly so that leaves us with James, Sanchez and young Mason Greenwood as candidates to play on the right if we chose three up front in a 433 formation.

His celebration at the goal was so refreshing to see and you could feel his pure relief and emotions when he ran to the sideline. Special moment and sometimes God is with us when things are tough.

Far and away the best moment for me at the weekend was his goal, his reaction was how I would imagine many of us on here would feel scoring at OT.

So happy to have signed a player like him and hopefully his enthusiasm infects all the players around him.

The interview where Adam McKola was whining at him

I think he will eventually make the starting RW spot his this year. Seems like Ole wants to ease him into it rather than just throwing him in at the deep end.

We always look much more solid defensively when he's on the pitch. He's absolutely key to our press.

I'll try to keep my expectation low for him this season. It's not easy for him but I'm excited to see what's to come.

Yeah, he could be the fittest in our squad, by all accounts he was setting the standard in training and there were reports if him attending some fitness academy type thing in Dubai before preseason.

Dybala can rot in juve's bench while we let James grow his game and become a top player.

That celebration was a moment. Watched it a few times and the pure emotion just flying out of him was something special especially when you think what happened this summer with his dad passing in the middle of the move don’t think I’ve ever been so happy for someone to core on their debut. I mean Maguire and Bissaka could have scored but I just don’t think it would be the same feeling.

Isn't it weird how things like that often link and repeat themselves?

Try this one: Ole’s debut goal was against Blackburn where he scored 6/7 minutes after coming on.... His last ever goal for us was against Blackburn, where he scored 6/7 minutes after coming on...

Nice! Love stats like that

Big game for him tonight. Im wondering why he's up against a tight defence but maybe he wants to peg the fullback back? Don't really know if Wolves attack through FBs though?

It will be tight but his acceleration should get him into pockets of space between their defenders. I do hope his technique is up to it, this is going to be a big step up for him.

Big chance for him to try and exploit their LWB on the break.

Wolves 1:1 Man Utd

And he didn’t take it.

Looked very much a championship player today. Amazed he lasted 88 mins.

Why was getting booed? Please don’t tell me because he’s Welsh because unless I missed something I don’t know what the feck?

Pretty obvious from day 1 that he's just going to be a squad player here IMO. Which is fine, offers qualities we didnt have. Definitely doesnt have the quality to be more than that though, which is fine.

I think him and Pulisic are going to have similar seasons. Two tiny 20 year olds playing in a new league.

A wise man once said "Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit".

Would rather have him on the pitch than Pereira but we should really start playing Mata there.
