Dan Ashworth 2024/2025

From the linked article:

"There for the national team, he introduced an element that is seen as one of the key factors of their continued success, even now, and that's the England DNA. A defined way of playing across all age groups."

Hopefully he is not responsible for the defined way of play currently being employed by the English national team.

It isn't, one thing that is remarkable about Southgate's current tenure is how opposite from the England DNA (as outlined by the FA and how it is taught on the coaching licences) he seems to play. Someone like Lee Carsley with the U21's and how fantastic they play regularly is far closer to the ideal than Southgate is.

Interesting to see how many of the ongoing deals such as Zikzee and De Ligt he nixes immediately.

Bit late but hopefully he’s been bought up to speed during his leave. I hope he can have an impact this window.

So, what does it mean?

Newcastle's theatrics were always about money? And we paid them some number of millions, less than 20, but substantial to help them with PSR? And Ashworth can start as United's technical director as soon as today, spinning deals for us with his left heal?

You only have to watch every England age group under the first team to see, which is the odd one out

Most important signing of the summer. Finally the A-Team is up and running!

There goes our budget. Newcastle's FFP woes and strangely unbalanced side with some good players fielded next to some average at best happened under his watch.

Good. It would be terrible to be without a DOF for two transfer windows, given what we need to do.

Oh dear. Are the Southgate links actually real

The only club to pay a fee for a DOF well done.

Newcastle paid compensation to Brighton to get him, self hate is not a good thing

Nice! That announcement came out of nowhere really. It just goes to show that we really are working away on things behind the scenes and not briefing or leaking all the little details. I’d imagine we’ve a few Ashworth approved transfers that are advanced now too. Refreshing!

Is this some kind of preventive negativity?
