Carnage: A dirty mattress was discarded on the pavement, pictured shortly before the patrol started

The DM desperately try to find evidence of Brits behaving badly abroad as British police start patrolling in Magaluf.

That was the pic caption rather than the headline tbf, but still made me laugh.

There was a discarded mattress and a sofa down a side street in Southport town centre for weeks earlier this year. I realise now that I should have been offended.
There is down every other London straight thanks to BTL landlords. CARNAGE!!!

In other 'news'.
Is it true a Cadbury's Flake WON'T melt? We put the rumours to the test by blasting the chocolate bar in the microwave for a minute

The DM's 'intrepid' team [sic] put a chocolate bar in a microwave.

I can't decide which is my favourite line from that 'article':

Heat burns the fingers of writer but the chocolate remains firm
She then waited with bated breath while the chocolate was spinning around in the heat, anxious to see if the chocolate would melt.
After a fraught 60 seconds the inimitable ping signalled the end of the heating process
'It stuck to my hands and burnt my fingers.'
It's true! The Flake after being in the microwave for one minute has managed to retain its shape

Did anyone see this? DM Reporter and BestOfTheMail decided to see what happened if they posted Nazi quotes in the Daily Mail comments sections online. The comments proved rather popular.

That's inspired. I must admit I'm not surprised having read some of the shite in the comment sections of various publications. I think comments sections attract idiots like shit attracts flies.

Never actually look in the DM comments section but I agree with the premise in general. Though when Im bored I quite enjoy browsing the comments sections in the FT and Guardian to read the arguments, its a bit like an episode of QT where 3 of the panelists have had partial lobotomies.

Seriously? It's the best thing on the website, in a depressing kind of way. That piece is great though. Am surprised that he actually got banned in the end- that takes something given the vitriol they let through.

They are morbidly fascinating. What really freaks me out is that Daily Mail-esque comments are anonymously upvoted like crazy on Facebook and supposedly non-extremist news websites. They should do that Nazi propaganda experiment on a wider range of subjects.

Its because I generally dont go to the site at all. Its not a principle thing, I click on links from here occasionally if someone posts something I am interested in. But it is almost always sport. I understand the morbid fascination of its articles but most of the time it just makes me angry.

That would be a fascinating experiment. You do get some right wing trolls infiltrating the Guardian etc...A mate and I trolled a few rival financial trade mags a while back to see what we could away with. They all moderate the comments before making them live, but you don't have to be a registered user, whereas on my site the comments go straight up, but you have to be registered, so we can see who makes them, but sometimes have to hurriedly hide them.
Anyhoo, the couple I remember were one on a story about the BTL rout during the financial crisis 'This reminds me of the slaughter in Rwanda in the early '90s with first-time buyers losing deposits losing limbs in frenzied machete attacks.'
They were more sharply written, but the other was along the lines of 'The proliferation of offshore funds reminds me of the spread of Aids in the early 1980s. We should be careful.'
Both got through- it's amazing what you can get away with.

Soon to be followed by 'Drunken Students disgrace Britain' stories, no doubt.

I think years and years of criticism have finally had an impact. There's a definite reduction in the number of scantily clad nubile teens celebrating A level results day.

Same in the Tel.

They only show pics of pretty girls in the DM though. Overweight/unattractive girls don't pass exams :nono:

Seem to remember they had a ridiculous number last year though and the Guardian had a pop at them.

Reminds me of this...

To be fair, the cloud formation on the left is a helluva Cecil likeness.

Print media is going to be dead in five years, isn't it? They have no idea what to do...

I would say it would be missed but what I really mean is I'll miss Private Eye slating them all.

:lol:That is a cool cloud formation tbf, but jeez, is this a step up or down from all the recent ghost shiz?

Worst life-size transfer ever.
