Daily Mail

The Mail appears to hate women. I read an article on their site recently about moths (now there's a glimpse into the fascinating life of SteveJ), and the writer was on about household-cleaning being 'once the lot of every British housewife'. In other words, modern women are lazy twits, it seems.

Don't forget 'middle-class' too.

Could it not mean women no longer have to solely do these chores, such has been the progression in society.

EDIT: Er, no you're right, we are talking about the DM.

It seems to have a really archaic outlook on women in general. It's made a couple of females in my family genuinely misogynistic in relation to female sports reporters, football officials, etc... Only the other day I heard something along the lines of "oh, look at her reporting on the football...this was in the paper the other day. How ridiculous, they're all doing it now..." :wenger:

Seriously fecking weird newspaper and it's a bit disturbing that it actually seems to have a hold on some people who read it. I'm trying to get my head round how someone can pick it up and think, "Hmm, yes good point. This isn't a complete load of bollocks at all."

Strange to hear all that when the actual demographic of The Mail is middle class women.

Oh dear...

Amongst the 100 or so people, who attended the unveiling of a plague in honour of the filmmaker, was Carol Vorderman, Cilla Black and Bernie Ecclestone.

If DM headlines were literal they'd be stuff like:

"Look at the tits on that"
"If you look closely you can see her nips/gash"
"Look what this black bastard did to this nice old white couple"
"Scrounger shits on you all...let's get him"
"Some old pics of the Empire from when the darkies hadn't ruined everything"

Migrants/Dole scroungers/single mothers are to blame for everything including the weather.

Every paper has its agenda and their prime purpose is to make money.

I don't really agree with that. They all have a leaning, and a loose one at that, as they will all have commentators and reporters who fall either one side or the other of the paper. But an agenda? An actual Agenda?

What say, is the Guardian's agenda? Or the Independent? I'd ask about the Telegraph too, but they are too anti-EU and too pro business.

Maybe agenda isn't the right word....leaning will do although it is far from a loose one. My main point was that they exist to make money and to expect a balanced view from any of them is not going to happen.

Stupid article. It's probably because there's a high percentage of immigrants there.

...and single mothers falling drunk out of nightclubs.

Hang on a minute I've been on anti depressants for many years and you mean to tell me I could be getting benefits too?!!! Oh no hold on I actually want to work and strive to provide for my family and working helps my condition prescribe them all a 40 week of community service to get them active and out of the house idle beggars. Not all depression is debilitating.

I'm waiting for their petition to bring back workhouses for the idle poor and come to that the hard working underpaid poor. How dare they be poor.

More than a third of residents don’t hold even a single GCSE. Life expectancy is among the lowest in Britain.

Woah, that's a shockingly low number. GCSE's are far too easy, if the government had any balls that number would be at least 50% right now.
