Aren't the new consoles out around then?
Aren't the new consoles out around then?
With promised full backwards compatibility on both PS5 and Series X, I wonder if that proven strategy is still the way to go. Or will we start seeing some sort of enhanced edition updates instead of remasters? Can't see them releasing on the new consoles at launch. Reckon they'll release on PS4, PC, XBONE, then wait a year and release a GOTY edition on the new consoles or something. Proven way (hey, Rockstar) of getting people to buy your game twice.
That's pretty cool. Don't think other devs will be as cool about it as CDPR, somehow! There you go @Massive Spanner I think I told you that several times.
Looks like Xbox is trying to force the Devs to do this? That's pretty cool. Don't think other devs will be as cool about it as CDPR, somehow!
You will be able to customise your genitals...

There is a few games I'm doing that with.Anyone thinking of holding off on this until it's out on the the next gen consoles? I'd be tempted to but have no idea when that will be yet
CDPR have already said they'll be making it backwards compatible with no catch, so that won't happen. One company you can definitely rely on.There is a few games I'm doing that with.
Even with backwards compatibility, companies will release "ultimate editions" with more graphic options etc. and I'm not being caught by the double dipping feckers this time.
Nothing confirmed outside of backwards compatibility. They might have made a deal like Sega did with Yakuza 7 to bring it out on Series X but not PS5.Is it also coming out on PS5?

They’re doing all they can to max out cyber penis modifications. We’ll wait.
Delayed to the day after my birthday.
Not surprised. They delayed The Witcher 3 quite a few times too. Still annoying but hey, Christmas bonus I guess.
I was going to wait and get it on PS5 anyway so this just reinforces that.
Sane here and same with Last Of Us 2, PS4 hardware is pretty dated for these kind of games now, better getting best experience possible on PS5 or PC.
2077 soundtrack no more the the release date rather than part of the name, time to cancel my preorder and just get it on the PS5 as it be released around that date
Why?
The PS5 version will be updated free if you have the PS4 version.
Well that is what they said for Xbox.
Personally rather wait and play with better graphics on the newer console

CD Projekt have actually said that the next-gen enhanced versions will not be available until a later date. If you play it on a Series X or PS5, initially all you'll be playing is a non-enhanced, backwards compatible version. They haven't given a clear date for next-gen enhancements, so some time during 2021 probably. They also haven't clarified what will happen with the PS5 enhanced version. On Series X it's confirmed it'll use smart delivery but Sony still haven't revealed their stance on this. You'd expect a free update as well, simply because it wouldn't be a great look if you'd have to pay for it again on PS5 while you get it for free on a Series X.Wait for what? It’s out same time as new consoles....
If you preorder it on Xbox one then you will also automatically get a enhanced version which you can play on the series x. That is technically your next gen version. The same will be done for PS4. It will take advantage of the PS5 boost mode. They already said they don’t want people buying 2 of the same game.
They will be using the BC features both MS and Sony hype on about to enhance the game for the new consoles.
So cancelling your preorder does not change anything. If you preorder on PS4 you will be able to play it enhanced on PS5 for no extra cost. Even though it’s weird people still preorder this early.
Yes, I forgot for a minute that the PS5 is backwards compatibleWhy?

Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 version will be playable on PlayStation 5 as soon as the game launches, developer CD Projekt Red has said.
Anyone with a PS4 copy will be able to play that on PS5 and receive a free update to improve the game's visuals on Sony's next-gen machine.
The news, confirmed last night in an investor call, follows CD Projekt Red's announcement in February it would support Microsoft's Smart Delivery initiative for Xbox - meaning the free upgrade will work the same there for Xbox One copies on Xbox Series X.
The developer further clarified that this would not be the final update to buff the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077. A beefier version of the game optimised for Microsoft and Sony's new machines will follow down the line - perhaps some timedown the line - but again be available to PS4 and Xbox One owners free of charge.
"I can confirm this is not the final update," CD Projekt exec Michał Nowakowski said. "At some point we will have a more robust update for next-gen which we plan to give free of charge to anyone who purchases the PS4 or Xbox One version.
"But in any case you will be able to play the game on next-gen from 19th November when the game releases and it will look better than on current-gen from that moment as well."
