Cuadrado

I think we need a right footed winger and he fits the bill. The formation doesn't work so let's get some players that actually give us width in a 433.

Buying a CDM would be a waste of money if we are going for Strootman in January and when we have Carrick coming back.

Nigel De Jong is a limited player in my opinion. I do like the idea of going for a young talent like Lucas Silva who can deputize Carrick and Strootman in the future.

A CB is a waste of money if they aren't better than what we already have. Vlaar is not better than playing Smalling or Jones IMO. You buy a CB if they can improve your selection. Otherwise you're just wasting your money.

Carrick is 34.

Strootman isn't a certain he's going to come here. I love how everyone thinks Roma are going to bend over and sell him in Midseason. They most likely have a realistic chance of winning the league this year with Conte leaving Juventus.

CB isn't a waste of money if you actually watched our current CBs. There is no leader.

I'm just guessing at Van Gaal's psychology. I think he craves a Dutch midfielder, and I bet Woodward thinks he can deliver Strootman.

Carrick still has some years left. If he didn't, then he would have been shown the door like Evra, Vidic and Rio.

I think it is a huge mistake to try to solve problems by simply multiplying average players. That hasn't helped Liverpool though they spent plenty along the way.

Cuadrado would have been a option had we not purchased Di Maria.

Di Maria plays on the left, and Van Gaal is a big believer in using left footed players there.

If it is possible to have both Giggs and Ronaldo (or Giggs and Beckham) in a team, then it is possible to have Di Maria and Cuadrado.

But then I believe the club has the finances to keep spending until they get things right. Perhaps not everyone agrees...

We also have Januzaj.

Woody can deliver anyone!

Barcelona have gone for Douglas instead of Cuadrado. Evidently Cuadrado's agent was trying to make contact with Barca at the last minute to try to keep them in the pursuit of Cuadrado.

With Barcelona out of the way United should have a clear run at this guy if they are still interested.

The price might even drop now that Barcelona have pulled out of the bidding war.

Otherwise he'll just stay at Fiorentina with an improved contract in September.

I don't think he's a priority anymore. Don't get me wrong, he'd be a class signing for us imo. But with Januzaj in the squad and our need for CM's and a CB, this deal won't happen.

On top of his ridicolous price. Fiorentina have denied him the move of his career me thinks.

We're in such dire need of pace on the counter, he'd make a huge difference. Sack off this 3 at the back shite when Valencia and Young are our only wide options.

After watching Valencia, I've had enough and changed my mind.

We need him.

I really don't see the point in this one. We have Rafael at fullback and Di Maria/Welbeck and Januzaj who can play out wide. The idea of Cuadrado just seems like a waste of money.

--------------Blind--------
------Herrera--------Mata/Vidal(hope)------

Cuadrado-----------------Di Maria

--------------Rooney-----

Looks Pacey and Balanced to me.

I feel like we need this signing probably more so than any other position after adding di maria and blind. If we continue with 3-5-2, and I hope we do not, we have to pick between Valiencia who has been miserable for two seasons, or Rafael who has major injury problems. We are seriously thin on the right side, and Cuadrado's versatility would be a major asset. He could play right wing back, right back, or as as right winger in a 4-3-3.

I doubt it will happen but it's an area of the team Van Gaal is going to have to look to strengthen in the near future.

He'd be an excellent signing & much needed. Our right side is utter pants - from defence to attack. He has it all in abundance & a never-say-die attitude too.

Some difference when you compare him to Nani. Absolute disgrace to the game & the club more importantly. He just doesnt seem to give a shite about breaking a sweat or if we win or lose - same attitude he has with Portugal. His performances at the WC were a disgrace. If you're not playin well attack-wise - put a shift in helping your team defend..

No chance the Cuadrado signing is gonna happen though. Cuadrado is right-footed & we only go for lefties at the moment ;)

Di maria played on the right against germany and tore it up.

Nani's a disgrace to the game? Ok then.

He doesnt seem to give a shit & just milks his huge contract. Thats disgraceful is it not?

Obviously LvG & the club has a similar view on him as i do; given that they couldnt get rid of him quick enough, even though there were no takers for him. We ended up handing him on a plate to Sporting & paying his full wages for the season. I've never seen a United player with a worse attitude than his.

Correct me if you feel different. The floors yours mate..

Suarez is a disgrace to the sport. Joey Barton is a disgrace.
I'm not going to compare Nani to either of them 2.
He seemed to give a shit in 09/10 when he was probably our best attacking player in a title winning season, or the same season when he played as a lone striker for a while against Bayern and made a good fist of it, while scoring 2 big goals in our biggest game of that season.

I know listing examples from 4 years ago is hardly compelling but that is the last time he was given unequivocal support from United in terms of playing time, the only time he knew that if he did make a mistake (like every player on the planet) it wouldn't result in him being benched for Valencia.

We can go in circles about Nani and we have on this forum many a time. And we have already taken this thread off topic really. I just dont agree with Nani being a disgrace to football.

Rubbish. He's been injured for over two years. That's clouding your judgement.

His loan to Sporting was announced at the same time the Rojo deal was confirmed. It's fair to assume that Nani's wages were part of that deal which basically just makes Rojo a bit more expensive.

Nothing clouds my judgement on a player who's on Easy Street & isnt interested in puttin a shift in for club or country!

Cuadrado is twice the player Nani is & has 10 times the determination to help his teams..
