The Spanish papers/media can feck off

Their best player was made in England at United, with a touch of Sporting Lisbon for good measure.

They can talk down to us but deep down they know that and so do Madrid.

wait until Cal? see's this

Very funny article!!

This is an away game, right? A 1-1 draw would suit us quite nicely.

Use Jones to mark Ronaldo and ensure that one of the wide mids is usually nearby to complete the strip. Easier said than done, of course, and we'll always be at risk of having the likes of Ozil punish us, but I'd rather mark Ronaldo out of the game and get beaten by Ozil than play honest defense and get beaten repeatedly by Ronaldo. What we cannot afford to do is to lose this game 4-0 because we didn't do the job on Ronaldo. Since we're not looking to beat Real 0-4 ourselves, the plan going into the game is pretty straightforward. Complete the job at OT. Then sign up Ronnie over the summer.

How many times has this happened when big teams chose not to mark Ronaldo? Off the top of my head I'd say never. There's only been two occasions in the CL when Ronaldo's been in a side that's won by more than 2 against quality opposition - Roma and Spurs. And of course both teams are considerably worse than us. Ronaldo scored the 4th in a 4-0 win v Spurs and in the Roma game it was Giggs running the show (4 assists!) with Ronaldo scoring the 4th and 5th in a 7-1 win.

So Ronaldo coming out with his typical "Only God knows the future" bullshit again. Somethings just never change

only god, his agent, his future clubs owners and he himself know. He just forgets to name the rest

But seriously, good to see it'll be Madrid fans who have to listen to his God nonsense. He did rule out ever playing for City though and said "Only God knows the future" when asked if he's going to return to United in the future. We're definitely signing him now

"I can say it would be very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very difficult to play at Manchester City. Very difficult because of Manchester United."

He likes the word 'very'.

It seems that a lot if people have hyped Ronaldo's ability to mythical levels. Most fans I've spoken with over the last couple of days have him nailed on for three goals plus over the two legs.

Not saying I'd be surprised but nailed on? Don't think so. Just as easily have a disaster if we manage him right.

It's debatable whether Ronaldo -- in his United, not Real, form -- would make the all time United XI side. I say yes, but reasonable minds say no.

But would Ronaldo, in his United form, make a mythical all time Liverpool XI side?

Perhaps a bizarre question, but I'm trying to assess how great Ronaldo (United form) ranks among the greatest footballers in English football.

The all time Liverpool would rank up there with the all time United so bizarre from that view point. Ronaldo would get in both sides end of story better question would be would RVP and Rooney the answer is no.

As far as I am concerned, we have to choose a side, either Manchester United or Real Madrid (with Ronaldo.) For me, only Manchester United counts and I won't even give Ronaldo a second thought until after the match, since I will be routing for the current reds. Come on Wazza and RVP, do your stuff, and I hope Rafa keeps Ronaldo firmly in his pocket tonight.

It's also very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very very difficult to average over a goal a game for over 3 years but it hasn't stopped Ronaldo.

With the FFP rules coming into effect soon though, I do think City will find it difficult to sign him unless they did a hell of a lot of selling one summer.

Come on Ronaldo, we want this tonight:

Always cracks me up.

inevitable goal. can't do anything about that. still a good result currently but we are getting outplayed. Coping admirably, just.

Or maybe you just underestimate how good he is?
