it's painfully obvious how much we'd be walking the league with him here still.we'd be on 21 leagues.

we've had such poor luck with the three most gifted players in our history....

edwards unfortunately perished too young.
best was a pisshead and couldn't stay professional
ronnie always had eyes for another league.

I think you can put him in any of Chelsea, United and City and that team would win the title.

I'm not sure about that. If we can't get our midfield playing properly, no amount of brilliant forwards will change things. We've already got an in-form Rooney, RVP and Hernandez, but if you put Carrick and Giggs behind them, what can they do?

Ronaldo can pick the ball up and shoot from 40 yards all the time. By the end of 90 minutes one attempt is bound to go in, get the rest of the lads to play defence.

Agreed, he would make us much better but we would still have a big issue with our midfield. Meanwhile, another one of our very good (not as good as Ronaldo, admittedly) players ends up on the bench to accommodate him.

Ronaldo would make us stronger. But a midfielder who was even half as good as him would arguably make us stronger still.

I am going to football in an hour, I am going to be like the old Ronaldo and dive and shoot absolutely everywhere. I will let you know how it goes.

Ronaldo's in a different league to them though. Firstly, he'll score more goals which makes a huge difference. Secondly, he's MUCH harder to keep out of the game. He has a lot more individual brilliance than both of them.

Besides, there's not all that much in it between us and City as proven by last season. So we'd easily win the league over them if we had him, with him being a big improvement over anyone we have.

It's Chelsea that is the contentious one but I still think he'd lift them enough.

More focus would be put on ronaldo easing the pressure on other players also.

I don't know how much of it is true but it is a pretty good read nonetheless. Some of the things mentioned in the article are exactly why I fear getting him or Mourinho at OT.

The grass is always greener somewhere else for him by the looks of it.

If he left Madrid because of image rights, and they were unable to justify meeting his demands, it is hard to see how we could meet them. If he left and it was down to money then we'd better get used to him playing for Chelsea, City or PSG.

I'm just going to go with it for now and pretend his return is in any way, shape or form a viable prospect. Welcome home, Ronnie!

Yes agreed.

But amol's right too, put him into our existing team and we'd surely win the league.

Get a couple of excellent midfielders and we would win it for the next 5.

I know we won't but it is all conjecture anyways. Our Achilles heel for quite some time has been the midfield not the attack. Good midfield would make all three areas of the pitch better.

PSG or City seem like the most likely destiny for him.

Teams that won't care how high his wage demands are and can pay the insane transfer fee he will cost.

I just hope it's PSG rather than City.

Ofcourse, i agreed with Adebesi. Quality CMs would increase the overall strength of the team more than Ronaldo would. What am saying is that Amol's right too when he says Ronaldo alone would see us winning the league though.

According to the Caf, every good player will be/or is off to City in the next few years or right now. In the summer, Eden Hazard, RVP, De Rossi have all been off to City. No doubt Ronaldo is the next.

May be..may be not. He would make us a little better though.

Do you ever have anything substantial to contribute? Every post of yours is about scrutinizing couple of posts above yours in a generalized way.

Nope, mate. I could only wish to be as analytic as you in the posts.

Ronaldo would make us a little better
What a great contribution. I also think that Messi would make us a little better.

Having just seen his video tribute...really can't imagine him ever going to City...

He is a class individual.

So who else would you suggest has the money to buy him?

If he goes it's only one of the sugar daddy clubs, no one else can afford him.

That being said it's not too much of a stretch to imagine he will actually stay and all the noise about him leaving is just his agent trying to put pressure on Real for the contract re-negotiation.

Little better? You realize we're talking about Ronaldo, right?

I have absolutely no doubt that we'd win the league. We already have a pretty decent chance. It will be close between us and City. Ronaldo would put us a level above. Our midfield would still get exposed but our attack would go up a notch or three.

Would a player swap of Nani and Ronaldo be too out of the question? Assuming it could be done, they both play in similar positions and both seem to want to leave, how much would United have to pay?

Nani would be excellent for Real Madrid, I think, and Ronaldo would be brilliant for United.

I know this is about as likely as me waking up in the morning, 7 feet tall, with the voice of Andrea Bocelli, looks of a young Brad Pitt and footballing skills of Zidane, but wouldn't that be sweet? (the things about me too)

In any case, if he came back, Ronaldo would give us that fear factor that we have been lacking for some time now. Teams aren't scared of us anymore but with him in the side there is no doubt they will be.

I wonder what his main motivation would be, if he left Real. Money - and the prestige that goes with it. New, unknown dreams he had as a child to play at some club that he hasn't mentioned to date. Wanting to try and new league. Attraction to a specific manager or other player somewhere.

Where's Andy Mitten when you need him, he would know.

I genuinely don't think he's greedy. Even if it's for financial reasons - it's not so much about the money as such but rather the appreciation it suggests. Does anybody understand what I'm getting at?

I don't think the reason is on his side though. As far as appreciation, he's still the highest paid footballer at Real Madrid, isn't he? He agreed to that contract when he was transferred and by then he was arguably the best footballer in the world. Should Real be forced to raise his wages and show their "appreciation" every time a sugar-daddy club decides to make Ibrahimovic or Eto'o the highest paid footballers in the world? There's a reason those players are paid those amounts, it's because they wouldn't want to go anywhere near those shit leagues if it wasn't for the money.

I'm sure Real wouldn't mind raising his wages a bit to match Messi if it wasn't such a huge difference due to the new tax laws in Spain. Ronaldo should consider this.

In regards to the image rights, if every galactico before him had the same kind of deal, he can't also expect they'll change this stance for him. That's a huge part of the policy they designed, and whether right or wrong, they won't change it for him nor should he expect it.

For all that I think his demands, if all the gossip is true, are rather unreasonable, and totally go against the idea he's trying to pass that his problem isn't money.
