Real would never have the dignity to sell him back for less what they payed for, even if the transfer is justified.

Yeah, I don't think it will happen.. The Glazers probably think that the past Summer was our spending Summer, and next Summer should be dedicated to paying off the debt, and SAF knows that..
if city wins the league again and we go trophy-less for a 2nd year running, do you think SAF will accept it and just roll over on his back and let the gingers tickle him?
Time to start talking the price down.

He'll have two years left on his contract at the end of the season and he has a chronic ankle condition. Soon his hair will start to go, then the teeth, then the eyebrows.

we're going to make 50 million quid next year (or the year after) from chevrolet and come 2014 50+ million easy from nike.
We should be able to afford ronnie (and his monster wages) nqat.
let the club run 55-60% wage/turn over ratio (which is acceptable under ffp and financially sustainable if our main goal is actually being a football club and not a profit maximization exersize) and spend the stupid amounts of sponsor money on ronnie.
Would people prefer to spend say 100mil on Ronaldo or buy 3-4 players with the 100mil for the long term?
Though maybe its best to buy Ronaldo in that hypothetical situation as we wouldnt buy a Cm anyway.
this is why i avoid like aids the transfer forum
I get called a fan boy but i'd personally buy Ronaldo back. Ronaldo is one of the two best players in the world. I know some people say it wouldn't be the same etc or you should never go back but there are exceptions to that rule.
Most people would say he left too soon. Ronaldo would scare the shit out of teams. Litterly. He's worth 2/3 players. He would sell a shit load of shirts, make the club a fortune and would inspire everyone else in the squad. It would also return a bit of magic to the club - that we'd probably lost until that RVP signing.
To me it's a non brainer
I really couldn't agree more here. I just wish he'd not gone in the first place.I get called a fan boy but i'd personally buy Ronaldo back. Ronaldo is one of the two best players in the world. That Gary Neville article was very interesting. Gives you the impression Messi being the number one player must really eat away at Ronaldo.
Just wait until we're linked with Higuain

We should start the bidding at £50m + Nani in the summer since the club seem determined to isolate Nani as much as possible - win/win situation as Real can then buy Falcao, thus keeping him away from Chelsea or City.
Maybe even throw in Bebe, can't say fairer than that
Wage negotiations can start on RVP/Rooney level + whatever we our position is with image rights.
Now the only thing left to do is convince Valencia to switch numbers
I am certain it does. But he uses that as motivation.
I love reading books about Michael Jordan, and what made him tick. As perhaps the most competitive athlete ever, he would always look for the slightest perceived slight and use it to improve and get better.
Ronaldo is the same. Think he must be one of the most dedicated footballers around with regard to improving as a player. The Gary Neville post a page back shows that he wants team success, but realises that the better he is, the more chance the team has.
Always think back to the Nike ad - "Your love makes me strong. Your hate makes me unstoppable".

Yep, but its what makes him better and better. I remember hearing/reading many athletes saying when there is competition with another athlete then it only makes them even more determined to improve. Also just because Ronaldo has made it so obvious he wants to be known the best officially, doesn't mean Messi isn't working extra hard to prove himself too.

True, it's possible that they both have each other to thank for, in part. Ronaldo's presence means Messi can't slow down, and it's impressive how the former doesn't back down in any way.
I really think they're the two most consistent footballers I've ever seen.
The more I think think about him, the less I think I know/knew about football. I remember watching him around 2003-6, and not in a million years did I think he would become as good as he is.
Apparently neither did his teammates.
I really would love to know what exactly sparked that change in his attitude where he decided to throw all the unnecessary tricks overboard and go for physical power and efficiency instead.
Just think:
Rafael-------Vidic-----Rio--------Evra
---Clev---Carrick/Fletch---Anderson---
Rooney--------RVP----------Ronaldo
Oh Ronnie, I'd have him back in a heartbeat
I think Messi has improved since Ronaldo went to La Liga. Messi, in the same year that Ronaldo got 42 goals for us, Messi only scored 16. Once Ronaldo came to La Liga, Messi knew he had to up his game and scored 38 in the following season. Even now, Messi has been improving his free-kicks, that were inspired by Ronaldo thus adding an extra attribute to his game. They are both great footballers, and I'll be honest, I hope Ronaldo does retire at Real Madrid, since he seems to be enjoying his football there and rightly so.
Just shows how tough it is to judge young players. I wonder if Rooney could have been an even better player with a Ronaldo type work ethic. Getting fat and smoking would probably suggest this isn't the case with him. But then again, maybe he has worked hard throughout his career and this is just his top level.
Messi was injured for long stretches of that season.
He grew up.
