A serious question, you're Ronaldo (one can dream right ?), what is your opinion on the Bale signing ? Do you welcome him ? Do you feel annoyed by the price tag ? Do you feel frustrated that the attention will be more on him ?

Lets face it. Ron has an ego.

So he'll be well annoyed at the attention & price tag. Not to mention hell get even more pissed off if his on field productivity is affected - & at that price tag, Bales going to have to deliver/increase his output.

I don't see Ronaldo signing a new deal but I also don't think he's leaving now. Probably next year, and whoever signs him will give him a fat signing on fee.

More importantly, Bales signing will surely affect Ozil the most. I can see Di Maria leaving but that leaves Ozil & Isco fighting for that AM spot. It's a WC year & they both need to be playing as their NT can replace them

It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds. Cristiano's reaction to being asked a question a few weeks ago, about Madrid signing Bale for that price was something along the lines of "I have an opinion on it, but sometimes its best not to share it" (can't be bothered to find the exact quote). Anyway it sounded like someone who was trying quite hard to remain diplomatic.
 
I doubt Ronaldo will be too annoyed about the Bale hype. No matter what Bale's price tag is, Ronaldo will still be the main man, will still score the most goals and will still be the highest paid.

His ego will be fine.
 
He worked hard his whole life, worked his ass off and won awards and got sold for 80 mill whereas bale isn't even close to him but is about to go for a world record fee.

However, United are encouraged by the clear messages they have received about his affinity for the club and consider what he says to be genuine. Their information is that, realistically, they think he would be tempted to spend possibly the last three or four years of his professional life in Manchester. They are aware, however, that a move for him will not be simple by any measure.
A more determined attempt to re-sign him is feasible next summer, ahead of a season when he will turn 30, although there is also an acceptance that it is never going to be easy persuading him to leave Madrid, or persuading his club to agree to letting him go. As well as sharing the stage with Lionel Messi as one of the two greatest players in the world, Ronaldo's value to Madrid in a marketing and commercial sense is immense. The Premier League champions are, however, prepared to look into it and, crucially, they are not put off by the vast sums of money that would be involved. They have also retained strong links with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, despite Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at the end of last season. Ferguson and Mendes are particularly close and the former United manager had made no secret of his desire to make Ronaldo feel more wanted in Manchester than he is in Madrid.

One certainty is that, financially, they would need to push out the boat far more than they have in David Moyes's first summer in the job. United have had a frustrating and complicated transfer window, failing with bids for their top target, Barcelona's Cesc Fábregas, as well as becoming locked in a public disagreement with Everton over their "derisory" offer for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.

What's the point of having an explosive player in his last days? That's like signing Roberto Carlos at his prime and tell him he can't blast it.
 
That article is so wishy-washy. He wants to come back for 3-4 seasons, but he's going to sign a new contract at Madrid, but we still think it could happen and have investigated it a lot, but it'll be hard to persuade him to leave Madrid, and hard to convince Madrid to sell when he makes them so much money, and we're aware that he might just be using our interest to get a better deal but we'd like to think he's being genuine.

If there is any chance of him coming back here he won't sign a contract extension this season. I'm not holding my breath, as much as I'd love it to happen. The new contract would price us out of buying him back.
 
According to Daniel Taylor, the news that he has from United is that United feel he's close to a new deal with Madrid but wants to finish his career at United.
 
If that's the case then he probably won't be leaving Real till he's 32-33, and by the stage I don't know if I want us to sign him for massive wages. It's either the next year or never imo.
