I was only 9 years old when we signed Ronaldo, but I remember watching Sky Sports News when we unveiled our new number 7 having never heard of him and being a bit worried. How could this kid possibly replace Becks?!

I can also recall watching the highlights of that Bolton game on The Premiership on ITV that Saturday, as it was back then, and being absolutely enthralled by his ability. Instantly became my favourite United player in the team at the time. What a signing - it's difficult to imagine the magnitude of him coming home and the reaction it would get amongst our fans, especially on here.

On a side note, how good does Djemba-Djemba look in that video?! He seems like exactly the kind of player we need now. I'd actually take those two summer signings again this year if I could;Djemba-Djemba to play in midfield, however shit he is, and Ronaldo. :drool:
 
the moment ronaldo skipped past o'shea for about 86 times during that friendly i was sold. i said to my classmate the very next morning that sir alex has to sign this young Portuguese. and we did 3 days later!

as for djemba-djemba, i watched him for cameroon at the confederations cup as we signed him just before the tournament, if i am correct. he did very well and you can understand why he was likened to roy keane at that time. then of course the community shield match against arsenal, where he was absolutely fantastic for us. i thought our midfield is sorted for the next 10 years by then.:lol:

Januzaj? He's ten years younger than me, it's hard to watch isn't it? At 28, I should be in my god damn footballing prime right now.

I agree, but I haven't played Sunday league since I was 20. Met a girl, went travelling, had a baby, came home - never got back into the game. Perhaps it's not too late to play at the lowest level again, I just think I'd be much better if I hadn't stopped :)
 
Yup posted this 10 mins back in the Twitter thread. Apparently Paddy said on MUTV that he's heard that Ronaldo has flown in today. Then everybody's favorite Alistair Fergie confirmed it too.

I think this is being blown out of proportions. I'm sure a caller informed Pat of this, but I can't confirm for sure.
 
I just put MUTV on and rewound it as far as it went back and I caught the end of them talking about Ronaldo and laughing at rumours but I didn't catch it properly.
