I was mildly optimistic that Ronaldo might re-sign for us during this transfer window - maybe he still will if it is dependent on the Bale transfer.
But I still can't believe a paper would run a story like the Sun did - giving a specific date.
I know we laugh at journalists and 'ITK's, but surely there must have been something more than an offered "we would love to sign Ronaldo" that the journalist has picked up on.
On the other hand, I guess the papers figure that people don't really care about the countless times they are wrong, and that the little bump in circulation more than offsets this.
But still, was extremely strange for them to be so specific.

The 28-year-old is yet to pen a new contract at the La Liga runners-up, with just two years remaining on the Portugal international’s current deal.
Ronaldo has been linked with a potential return to Manchester United, while Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in the forward.
And the Madrid talisman is feeling confident ahead of the new campaign as Carlo Ancelotti’s side attempt to win the Champions League this term.
“The team is getting better, we have trained very well, gradually improving things,” Ronaldo told Real Madrid’s website.
“I am happy and like how things are going, the team is doing well and I was able to help with goals, which is what I have to do.

He looks so happy in that video above that it reinforces my belief that he's really not in any hurry to leave Madrid. It also reinforces my belief that Ivanovic just runs around fouling people constantly.
