Never mind all that stuff, here's Ronaldo in pizza form

She's horrific. I wouldn't touch her pinchy little face and massive forehead with someone else's barge pole let alone my own.

Rio on Ronaldo:

The former England international, who said that he hopes to finish his playing career at United, pointed to Cristiano Ronaldo's £80m transfer to Real Madrid in 2009 as evidence that the grass is not always greener elsewhere. Although Ferdinand acknowledged that Ronaldo has excelled in Spain, he questioned whether winning one La Liga title and the Copa del Rey in four years at Madrid represented a satisfactory return.
"I don't see where you go better from here," Ferdinand said. "For instance, Cristiano has been ridiculous as a football player individually, but has he won more trophies since leaving than what we've won? That's the way I look at it. I wouldn't say that he shouldn't have gone there; it was his dream to go there, so you have to respect that. But I just look at things in a black and white way: I want to win trophies so why would I leave here?

In fairness to Ronaldo and Madrid, in his time there v our time since he left

Us
2x League titles
1x Minor Domestic Cup

Madrid
1x League title
1x Major Domestic Cup

Not really night and day, is it?

I mean that said, why you'd want to be fair to Madrid isn't really clear. feck them.

If you factor in the potential for us with Ronaldo though; we could potentially have taken 7 consecutive league titles. It's worth comparing what he won here vs what he won in Madrid.

Manchester United
Real Madrid
Of course he's had more seasons at OT but he also hadn't hit his peak with us.

He was obviously going to win less at Madrid as his time there has coincided with the peak of the greatest football team ever and the greatest football player ever. Whilst at United, United were comfortably the best team in England and even Europe for a year or so.

Given that we lost 09/10 by a point and 11/12 on goal difference it's probably fair to say that we'd have won those with Ronaldo in the side.

However, Rio did ask "has he won more trophies since leaving than what we've won?"

The answer to that is that we've won one more trophy than them in that four years. Two, if you're counting Charity Shield/Supercopa Espanas, which I'm not but will concede that some might. In terms of being competitive as opposed to outright winning we've been more competitive in the league (they came close ish in 2009/10, got blitzed in 2010/11 and 2012/13), and they've been more competitive in the Champions League - Quarters, Runner Up, Group Stage, Last 16 v Last 16, Semi, Semi, Semi.

Yes but we also made a CL final, which may have been different had we had Ronaldo and also, probably gotten to other finals, had we also retained Ronaldo. Trophies aren't the full story here in my opinion.

Exactly. Only few could leap up that high for Madrid's first leg goal. And I feel we could take Dortmund on Semi Final.

Yep, it'd be hard work to argue we wouldn't have won the 2 leagues we came 2nd in after he went. Last year was goal difference for rucks sake!

Just watched his entire half hour debut against Fulham on Youtube. I also noticed Djemba-Djemba was pretty impressive in his debut.

I would not kick him out of bed, but mostly because I could just go sleep in the spare bedroom.

That's the spirit. I don't have a flat in Manchester, but if he needs a bed there I can arrange something for him.

Agreed. And the fact remains, Ronaldo's only Ballon d'Or came with us. Certainly, we've come closer to winning the CL since Ronaldo left than Real Madrid have, and that's what will win him another Ballon d'Or.

He is only has one ballon d'or because of the presence of Messi playing for us wouldn't change that. The final in 2011 even if we had Ronaldo it would not have changed much, we where totally outplayed if it was a close match then I would have said yes but for me it changes little.

We haven't won in Europe since he left and that is the big one really one trophy isn't a big difference.
