Meanwhile back on planet earth you've lost the best British manager of all time and got... David fecking Moyes.

He will get more trophies after his first match in charge then Wenger in his last 8 years.

Sorry, I forgot those 5 fourth place trophies. Wenger wins! :D

Oh my God, Perez has replied to Cruyff saying something like 'if Barca wants to sell Mess, call me first'.

Cristiano Ronaldo seriously dislikes this. It's fecking on. After Thiago's transfer, of course.

He meant the fourth spot league trophy.

In fairness to Peter I think Arsenal have that trophy in the bag this year, they may even challenge for the third spot trophy.

So? He's inheriting a squad that are league champions he will do well. Meanwhile...Arsenal haven't won a trophy in 7 years.

To be announced monday at 11!

I wouldn't go as far as saying cocks out, but there is a bunch of circumstantial evidence to suggest that the relationship between Ronaldo and Madrid has soured.

Florentino Perez's campaign to tell everybody who'll listen how much he loves Ronaldo and especially how he wants to make him the highest paid player in the world, in my opinion, is a way of covering his own ass if Ronaldo leaves. If this were simply a money issue, a contract would've been signed before it even got to this stage because Ronaldo would've been the highest paid player in the world at the club he's claimed he's always wanted to be at. The image rights issue which has been said to be a major sticking point, to me doesn't seem like it would be such a big deal. When he first signed for Madrid, I'm sure the issue was brought up and if it didn't bother him so much then, why would it now?

I can't help but think it won't be this summer. That's the issue for me.

Even if he wanted to leave, they have a year to change his mind. And if they can't get Bale this summer but can next summer, I'm sure they'd want him for one more year.

Ancelotti is a good manager, he'll do everything he can to keep Ronaldo.

I definitely think we're trying for him, but I don't think it'll happen - not yet anyway.

Looks like Ancelotti may have persuaded him to stay, by appealing to his ego.

Mental news, if true. I just can't see it happening though. How on earth could we afford him?

One way or another, we could afford him, all right. Don't let the 'debt' cloud your mind. The question is do we want to spend that amount on one player. It's tempting but I'm not sure that Moyes and the club would think it a good investment for the future. One Ronnie or two or three Alcantaras is the question. We've no idea which way Moyes will go, yet. We're just keeping options open.

If he's been offered the captaincy that would suggest that evra, vidic and most probably rooney are on their way out.

Is anyone saying that he's been offered captaincy?

Also, I don't think that it is true that it means that Evra, Vidic and Rooney will leave if that happens. When SAF stripped Giggs and Ferdinand from their captaincy - in favor of Vidic and Evra - there weren't any problems. Anyway, there are strong chances that both Evra and Rooney will leave this summer, while Vidic cannot have a say if he lose captaincy. After all, the main reason he got it in favor of Giggs/Rio was because he was fit to play every game, and that has changed a lot in the past two years.

How is Ronaldo being offered the captaincy when he plays for Madrid.

If he demands the captaincy then he can forget it. There's tailoring to his demands and then there's doing every last things he demands so that he can hold us to ransom. If he's so far up his own arse that he feels he must be captain then it's not going to end well and he'll only cause unrest. Captaincy might not mean too much now but a player should still have to earn it.

A story with no substance saying he's been offered the captaincy has now turned into a demand. If he's demanding Ashley Young serve as a footstool in the dressing room for him he can go feck himself.

We don't even have a source for the 'Ronaldo wants Utd capataincy' in this thread as far as I can see, yet everyone is discussing it?

James Ducker on #MUTV on Ronaldo return: "There are a lot of parallels between this summer and what he did with United in 2009."

"There is interest there, but I would be surprised to see it happen this summer."

Is there any way to check if he really said those words? Not seen any reference to them.

Come back next year....you're a season too early.
