Cristiano Ronaldo : The Juventus Chapter | Fin

Never a red card, but seeing a 33 year old man cry like a baby as if he is missing the world cup final is always hilarious.

He's only crying because Messi is now 3 goals ahead of him and the suspension will seriously impact his chances of being top scorer in the competition
Probably this. Those personal accolades mean a lot for him. He can't stand anyone who dares to be ahead of him. He never cried when Portugal left the world cup because it was a team failure. But when he left the final in Euro 2016 it hurt him more because it was personal.

Real man isn't afraid to cry when he feels to. feck those people with identity crisis issue.

Just saw the incident. I know, his determination and hunger is what made him the legend he is but hell, this was really weird. This kind of obsession is almost mental.

He obviously cried because he will not be able to return home to his beloved Old Trafford now. First thing on his mind, no doubt.

I would rather believe he cried because he misses their homegame against young boys, where he could have scored at least 2. This guy is obsessed by statistics, he loves scoring against these weaker teams to convince himself he is the best.
I don't even care that he misses the game against us. Ronaldo isn't the Ronaldo i liked years ago.

Please show us some footballer crying for being sent off in a meaningless group stage game.

Maybe meaningless for you but not him.

What can annoy anyone of this anyway ? I don't understand, unless you're a very tough man that cringes when seeing someone with tears.

Exactly. I don't understand why any ManUtd fan wants to see Ronaldo playing against us. Without him our chance to qualify will improve.
your chance to qualify after seeing Valencia won't change with or without Ronaldo

I am reading he will get just one game. Isn't red card automatic two games suspension in CL?

I don't know if he was crying because of the added pressure to his, so far, disappointing 2018-19 season, or because now he is not able to return to OT as expected.

He's their key threat, but this could easily be the last chance we get to see him, so really hope the ban is either 1 game, or rescinded.

Only a second return in 9 years

And both were in games that he "needed" to play, from what I can remember he didn't show up in that Europe charity game at Old Trafford either. Isn't that telling you something? Maybe he simply doesn't care about United as some of you might think.

The mental gymnastics to conclude that he didn't go to that charity game because he doesn't give a shit about Manchester United is really incredible. He clearly cares. He played 6 years there, won everything and United obviously played a huge part in his life. He played 300 games for the club ffs. He does nothing but say great things about United every time he's interviewed.

Is it really that shocking that Manchester United fans want to see Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford one last time? Really? What's more shocking to me is how many people here seem to be offended by the idea. For every fan that is bitter at him leaving to a team that was paying him 4 times as much, there will be a thousand fans wanting to show him gratitude for playing such a big part in what was a beautiful era for the club.

Exactly that. And people wonder why men hold their feelings in

I don't know. I've always wonder of why people bother when seeing others cry on the pitch. I think kissing the camera or dancing like a fool is more cringe worthy.

All that, but Ronaldo only cares about the club in so much as what the club has given him. His love for the club isn't selfless or emotional like Rafael's, for instance. He simply respects SAF for what the latter did for him, and that's it. You can say he now has a soft spot for United, but it is more like he doesn't really care what we think about him.

I understand the sentiment and nostalgia, but Ronaldo is one of the most selfish stars in world football. Everything revolves around him, never vice-versa. Nothing wrong with being honestly selfish of course.

The red card was a bit harsh, tbh. I just saw an angry player ranting against another for diving, which is ironic coming from Ronaldo :D

You're right that he doesn't watch United every week or celebrates if you win a title, it's not that kind of relationship but he clearly cares about the club and he's especially grateful to SAF. It's not like he was born a Manchester United fan though so I don't see why anyone would expect more than that.

No issues if some people want him to play at OT and some don’t. Undeniable that it’s easier to face a Juve side without Ronaldo. Hence..

I'd rather watch Ronaldo cry than Bale/Di Maria do that awful heart thing.

Just a game? That will mean he'll face United, no? I think we play Valencia then Juve in the double header

Yes. UEFA rules say it's a one game ban for a sending off which will be upgraded to 3 games if it's considered violent conduct.

Who said he cares? This is for some of our benefit.

Guessing you don't go to games either way so doesn't affect you?

I can't see UEFA giving him more than a one game ban. The cynic in me thinks they'd rather have him play at OT as it'd be better for their viewing figures.

Who cares about viewing figures?

Only saw the Ronaldo sending off this morning.I am embarrassed for football to see a player sent off for that .Common sense has really gone from the game and players who feign injury have no pride or shame.

More than a one game could be harsh but Ronaldo dives all the time. Don’t think he needs to excluded from players who lack shame

I just read on twitter he's only getting a one game ban which means he'll only miss the Young Boys game at home. Has this been confirmed yet?

Do you even read your own posts?

One quick check of his stats in the ‘big’ games of CL QF onwards and you’d know how laughable your post is.

lol.

so the reason every other striker dont score as much as him is because they don't care about statistic.

Couldn’t really be bothered about Ronaldo anymore, he’s been an opposition player for around 10 years now, all the better if he misses the game at Old Trafford if it gives United a better chance.

Yeah but whole point of champions league is big games and big players. I wish he could have played as it would have made our win sweeter

Seems like he gets a lot of red cards compared to other forwards. Why is that? Sometimes he's just reckless (man city derby back in the day), but some calls just seem like the referees don't like him (or maybe don't like players that are big, fast and demonstrative).

I always remember the game, his last year at utd, where a player put his hands around ronaldo's neck. I think there was no call, certainly no red card. And the announcer explained that it was a man's game.

Ronaldo missing the game is not a big deal. We'll still have to deal with Dybala and that cnut Mandzukic who always shows up in big games. Juventus are top 5 in the world, the only team that seems to be able to consistently beat them was Madrid so they decided to buy their best player
