Won't help, if you look at the Bundesliga these crappy German refs can't even get it right with the help of TV pictures... They just had to ban their VAR head ref Stark because he made obviously wrong decisions from the VAR commando room...
VAR is a tool not to be used by tools

Only saw the Ronaldo sending off this morning.I am embarrassed for football to see a player sent off for that .Common sense has really gone from the game and players who feign injury have no pride or shame.

Never a red card but he should get a 10 match ban for that pathetic display after it. He acted like he'd witnessed a war crime.

That's a terrible decision from the ref to produce a red.

The appeal won't do anything. UEFA would be basically admitting they they're incompetent. Just like the PL, unless it's an extreme example, they'll never over turn it. See Di Maria pulling that double-chinned fecks' shirt.

Why does he have to grab the other guy's hair? Well deserved just for stupidity. The show he put on afterwards was pretty embarrassing.

Funny how he gets sent off now that he's no longer a Real Madrid player.

On the subject of VAR: ref didn't actually see it. Goal line assistant did. Ref asked him 4 times whether it should be a red card. Assistant said yes

VAR would have put the decision in the ref's hands at least

The way he cried.. Smh, ridiculous really. This is the first group stages match. Man up!
He obviously cried because he will not be able to return home to his beloved Old Trafford now. First thing on his mind, no doubt.

I thought it was harsh, but he unnecessarily put himself in a position where the ref had to make a decision. It shouldn’t be any more than a one game suspension really.

Imagine how Ronaldo'd react if something actually bad happened to him. You know, like real people problems instead of whiny billionaire athlete problems.

That makes no sense to me at all.

You are happy with human errors of someone that's not even participating in the sport and can decide the outcome?! Why?

Because they're part of the game. The errors are part of the game. I love them when they go for you, and hate them when they go against - the game is less entertaining without mistakes. And that's all it is after all - entertainment.

Dumbest thing I've ever read.

VAR needs to happen across the game ASAP.

Lol. I bet you love it when your doctors and accountants make mistakes for you. All part of life. You love them when they go for you, and hate them when they go against - life is less meaningful without mistakes. And that's all it is after all - a learning process.

  • Why even bother paying for professional refs? Just grab some guys and have them ref and enjoy the decision swings.

To be fair, he reasons that the sole purpose of football is entertainment and it is hard to deny that referee mistakes are controverse topics that cause much attention and thus entertainment. But you don't visit the doctor or your accountant for entertainment.

However, I still disagree completely. I happily sacrifice a little bit of entertainment for more justice. That is assumed that VAR provides more justice which is not given in Germany. If you have incompetent referees who make wrong decisions although they saw everything perfevtly, slow motions and video footage won't help either. Especially if the VAR is inconsequent in when he interrupts the game. In the Bundesliga there are incidents when the exact same scene is corrected by the VAR in one game but not in the next one.

Footballers cry all the time these days. Don't understand the problem people having with this. He's not the firet one.

He's only crying because Messi is now 3 goals ahead of him and the suspension will seriously impact his chances of being top scorer in the competition

What is entertainment for you is the livelihoods of working players and all the other club members, so you'd reconsider thinking it's all fun and games.

You do realize I am of the same opinion, don't you?

3 match ban is fine by me, if he misses both our games. I'm not particularly anxious to have Lindelof tested by Ronaldo. And it may give us a fighting chance against Juve, an opportunity to finish top of the group and avoid the big guns in the Ro16.

Plus I think missing 2 opportunities to put himself in the media spotlight in those games against Utd could seriously harm his Ballon D'or chance.

Is he trying to make some money for the shirt sponsor or something? Not like him to go full dip shit like that.

Please show us some footballer crying for being sent off in a meaningless group stage game.

Doubt he gives a feck about OT.

In the moment of him crying I doubt missing the OT match was on his mind. But I suspect he would miss the reception he would get at OT, definitely will play to his ego.

I love how often football fans can read the minds of footballers only to conclude things that makes them dislike players they already dislike.

2 days ago Salah was angry that Firmino scored, yesterday Ronaldo cried because of Messi and the Ballon D’Or... When Neymar blinks he must be thinking of how great Hitler was.

Not as pathetic as this

Try top that :lol::wenger:

 seems like ref had a fun day himself too, red cards and three pens at Juve game..

Ronaldo, what a crybaby, I am glad he's not playing for us anymore to see his theatrics every game, how pathetic from him, grow up finally and act like a man a bit

I am a Ronaldo fan too but I can't believe people are prescribing to such a despicable act. The only reason he didn't collect much more hair is because of the short cut. Either way, it's definite red card card. He should keep his emotions intact. He should know better.

P.S I don't care if he faces us, we have Chris (Mike) Smalling ;)

Typical Ronaldo putting on a dramatic show with the tears. I don’t doubt his annoyed but I reckon only because he won’t have to chance to score goals and paid his individual stats.

Compare Fletchers reaction to being sent off for that tackle on Fabregas in 08 and actually missing the final to Ronaldo’s last night. Christ.

Harsh red though mind.

 didn't know he actually cried over this. Looks a red to me idk what the naysayers are on about .. Then again this is a united forum, everyone is still getting wet from the half yearly Ronaldo to United rumours
