Knowing what we know of Ronaldo what is more likely?

That the club did mistreat him on this matter or that he feels mistreated. Two different things.
Considering he has never done this before or given a interview like this and slated a manager in public fashion it tells me that a guy who has been a model professional his whole career may have a leg to stand on here.

Their has been a build up/culmination of things leading up all season that make it clear their is things going on behind the scenes.

We Sherlock Holmes here fellas.

What people say in public and feel in private is very different.

Like I said we don’t know what went on behind the scenes.
People on here only want to see black and white with regard to Ronaldo and this incident and his 2nd stint at United.

He's in the wrong but it's funny that in everyday life, most people with kids would probably admit (even if reluctantly) that your child's being on the line makes you less than rational, even if it wasn't after another one passing recently.

But at the same time, we have multiple excuses for Maguire and his sister. People will attack it as whataboutery but it's a clear example of double standards

Yes they would, doing an interview with Piers fecking Morgan is incredibly unprofessional.

Especially as we're still paying him.

If he just said that the training ground/facilities weren't up to standard? That's pretty much a well known fact at this point...

Also that alone would be so unexplosive that this would hardly be news

You do realise I don't have the mental age of ten. People are pretending to be outraged just so they can hate on a player they have been hating all season.

He came back went well for a spell but we are far from the team he thought we were and he is no longer the player that can save us

That's all that's happened here he will leave and we can go back to rebuilding and hoping that this time will be different than every other time since Fergie retired
FFS, please say you don't really believe that.

He wanted to leave in the summer and nobody wanted him. The club now want to get rid of him in January, so he's getting the first dig in. It's sad, but he's always been a diva. We will see in the WC what we all know. He cannot cut it at the highest level anymore.

He's played lots of games this season and has been way off the pace. Cannot beat a man, cannot get up for headers, he's missing sitters and chasing shadows. Whenever he has been out of the team we have played better. It is undeniable.

He is only deflecting from the fact that his legs have gone, by setting fire to something. Reminds me of Owen Hargreaves when he said that United's physio's broke him. And after he left, he was still perma-broken. Or Paul Pogba saying that we were holding him back. He was injured for 60% of his last season with us. Now look at him shine!!!

When it's gone, it's gone. Face up to it and move on with your life.

feck off Ronaldo

Hope the club sell him this january asap. keep him away from the squad until it goes through.

He was the virus all along

You don't have players slagging off their current club by doing TV interviews with scumbags like Piers Morgan no.

It doesn't even matter if he's right about facilities, its incredibly unprofessional.

Classic case of not watching a player and having preconceived visions of how he would play. Similar to Keane, he’s forgetting footballers age and become shit eventually
.

it doesn't even matter to me that much which of his statements are true or not. You simply don't go on television and badmouth your employer like that, taking yet again the focus off a positive result of the team because everything has to be about him. Such a model pro! That some people even try to excuse that is mind-boggling to me.
Human beings after all.. The most irrational species to ever set foot on this planet..

He chose Piers Morgan and Jordan Peterson as shoulders to cry on. This guy really surrounds himself with the right people.

Is it really though? Only fanboys will truly care about this. Everyone else knows what Ronaldo is.

Agree, it's not surprising he's done it, my overiding feeling is mehh, and relief that I won't have to watch him play for us again.

It is, but do you really think everyone would be as up in arms?

This isn't the first time he's had an interview with Morgan either.

I just don't understand what he's trying to accomplish here?

Like his comments towards Rooney are so distasteful. Does he forget how Rooney acted to make sure any "beef" between the 2 post 2006 WC was completely squashed? Rooney made fair critiques of his current play(not career) and he goes after Rooney's career and his looks? Like what?

Just don't get this public meltdown he's had. We're not privy to the conversations between him and ETH. We did see a public show of disrespect by Ronaldo towards the club, ETH, his teammates and fans after his refusal to come on and subsequent early leave for the Spurs game.

He made some valid points(which the club are working on ironically).

He tried to earn some sympathy by going after the club's standards/image post SAF, but it's ironic, because they're showing the right standards now.

The entire point is that Ronaldo is simply no longer good enough to play for a top club. That's the end of any argument his stans will try and peddle.

So he felt disrespected, because he gave the club reasons to doubt him, while every source at the club was saying that the club accepted it and trusted him?
Yup this guy is having a mare in this thread , and I’ve always been Ronaldo’s biggest fan since I watched him for Sporting.

I hope the media will also highlight the fact that Manchester United has not improved any part of the facilities since 2009.

How are these parasites taking dividends but have never improved the club? We can see the stadium is falling apart but we don't have any idea how is the club inside. Finally, it's been said the club is in disarray and needs a full renovation, not just the stadium.

Nothing he's said about the club or Rangnick is wrong. In fact, I'm kind of glad that he's shone a light on the fact that we've pretty much been frozen in time for almost 15 years when it comes to our facilities. That's unforgivable by the leaders at this club and needs to be addressed if we want to get anywhere near challenging for anything. That being said, he can't keep playing for us after (wrongly, in my opinion) calling out ETH. It's ETH or him at this point, and the club has to side with the manager over this has-been.

They’re in the middle of doing so. Which makes it funnier

It wouldn't be as dramatic if he'd not slagged off the manager but it would still have been a pathetic unprofessional thing for Ronaldo to do.

It wouldn't have been brushed off to have a player under contract, getting paid 500k a week allegedly, shitting all over the club in an interview with him.

Ronaldo has got to have a depression after the passing of his kid. No excuse but i think thats what it is. The Rooney comment is just redicilously low. He’s done after this, sad ending.

Let him go there. I can't wait to see him poison the well in North London if this is how he wants to go.

Rooney will piss himself laughing at this to be fair.

the bit that fuking grinds my gears the most is the Picasso bullshit and him doing it for the fans. If a champions league team even farted in his direction last summer the “fans” would not have been given a second thought. He would have been gone.

Whether it’s true or not, the stuff he said about the club not moving on for twenty years can do reputational damage.

Ok mate. Would you give over. He has no legs to stand on and has made an absolute show of himself and the club. He's an embarrassment with this pathetic shit-throwing interview. It's just another tantrum in a long line of immature narcissist behaviour from this man-child.

I'm more good looking than Rooney ffs

I wonder if his comments constitute gross misconduct.

That tells you everything.

What I find most annoying about this interview is how Ronaldo seems 100% surre that the vast majority of fans will take his side on this. He's so clueless.

CR7 is the football version of Kanye West at this point.

Past his best, deluded, egotistical and is now inventing scenarios in his head that don't exist.

I’m going to hold off on saying too much about the guy, because he’s obviously had personal struggles this year that most of us couldn’t even dream of.

A lot of people go through personal struggles, many worse than Ronaldo has, even. It's not a carte blanche to act like a petulant child.

Also his personality is such that he probably would have behaved like this.

He says that the club were trying to force him out when it’s literally the complete opposite - he was trying to force himself out and getting his agent Jorge Mendes to go begging to the likes of Bayern & Chelsea to take him. That’s off the back of when he said at the end of last season that he was going to stay.

Why should the club & ETH show him respect when he was a complete man child all summer and showed the club, our new manager & fans no respect at all to begin with.

Hope he fecks off to Sporting or MLS or literally anyone that would be crazy to take a player on astronomical wages that’s a shadow of his former self.

Oh my what a complete tool. I can understand his frustrations with facilities, we share that too and with how the club has been run but to slag off the manager who presumably told him he would not be first choice is raw. Ronaldo has had his chance this season and wasted countless of opportunities in front of goal. His regression has come quick, no big club wants him and is willing to pay his wages. We pay him half a million a week, its a disgrace and this could impact on the field performances. He is only thinking of himself and will surely lose a lot of respect. I think he has played his last game, I'd be happy to see him gone in Jan. I'm tired of this show, it's dragged on for over a year now. I wish him the best anywhere he goes, he will still be my favourite player ever but it does leave a sour taste in my mouth.
