He was probably reprimanded when he left the stadium at HT along with other players. The Spurs walk off was strike two.None of us actually know what is included in the contracts, so no one can say what the grounds are.
However; coming out against the employer, the manager cannot be good, this was also on video so, evidence is clear.
He also hinted that he wasn't motivated to play for the club, so maybe there is something in that. Him saying don't put me on for 3 minutes, there will be no clause that says you cannot use him like that.
So I think there will be more than 1 breach of his contract.
Well without any context maybe you are right, but when it coincidences with one of the most successful period in our club history, it does tell how much of driving force he was to our success.Ballond'or matters to him, not to the club. It has no bearing on his or anyone's legendary status
From a legal perspective, what are the actual grounds for sacking him?
The emphasis on a quick and clean resolution makes me wonder if this will end in a negotiated financial settlement.
The real glory is going to be seeing how he struggles to find a big club with European pedigree after the world cup as a free agent. He won't be able to hide behind the excuse that he's being denied a move by his club.
He's too much of a narcissist to compromise on wages to join a team like Sporting, so he'll inevitably end up in the Middle East or China. Meanwhile Messi will continue to bang in the goals in the CL which would probably destroy PR7's fragile little ego
All we need now is Messi to lift the World Cup and overtake his CL goal scoring record, just so we can definitively end the GOAT argument.
Would be the best way to go about it. He's got half a billion followers on social media - I think the club will want the exit to look clean and to a degree amicable as possible.
You don't wanna sack him and have that looming around the clubs image for eternity.

I don't really get this point. How is bad for the club's image if Ronaldo fecked around and found out? I don't think any other club would act differently. If we don't have to pay him we absolutely shouldn't.
It was always going to end up with a negotiated severance package. But I don't think sacking him would haunt us for eternity. Yes he has half a billion followers but only a couple of years more of relevancy left.Would be the best way to go about it. He has positioned it to the point he’s sacked! How is this on the club at all? He's the most famous player to have ever worn the clubs shirt. You don't want to completely poison his association with the club
That is a bit of a contradiction is it not? These days to be a good manager it is all about man management (the hairdryer treatment just wouldn't work with these modern players) and actually I think he has impressed on that front. Specifically, when he got the players in for a 14km run the day after the Brentford game, he also did the run himself to show that they are all in it together.
So if , hypothetically speaking, a Redcafe admin renamed you to redcafe_rat you wouldn't be offended in the slightest? Why people have trouble with the "rat" comment?
I don't consider "rat" as an insult. Consider for a moment, the world a rat lives in. It's a hostile world indeed.
Has a rat ever done anything to you to create this animosity you feel toward them? Rats were the cause of the Bubonic plague, but that was some time ago. In all your born days, has a rat ever caused you to be sick a day in your life? I purpose to you, any disease a rat could spread, a squirrel could equally carry. Yet I assume you don't share the same animosity if Ronaldo call Rooney a squirrel, do you?
The club will be fine. Millions of angry FC Ronaldo cultists aren't going to compromise the club's outlook in the future. Sooner or later they'll get bored of watching him play in the Saudi league and move on to the next footballer to worship.Would be the best way to go about it. Nah feck that noise. Don’t want any association to him, why would we?He's the most famous player to have ever worn the clubs shirt. You don't want to completely poison his association with the club
Well he did that all by himself. He's the most famous player to have ever worn the clubs shirt. You don't want to completely poison his association with the club
Gross misconduct on the grounds of bringing the company into disrepute. A completely standard clause in every employment contract you'll come across.
/I understand the sentiment, but /I don't want us to have any further distractions on account of him. /I also want Piers to take our club's name out of his trash mouth. Can't deal with the constant running commentary from the gutter. Why not sue? Feck him. We've paid him enough for feck all return.
Just stop, please, you're making yourself look a fool.I agree that he shouldn't have done it, he's obviously been deeply hurt by the alleged mistrust and disrespect. Now that he has, I look and what factual statements he's made (from his point of view) and ignore the slandering of individuals. The club hasn't shown the ambition of clubs like Real, nobody dares to talk about it publicly. The attitude of our players is also very accurate, just look at the likes of Martial and Sancho. I don't agree with the way Ronaldo did it, but he's right on this account...
And what good does it do to bring Ronaldo on with 3 minutes remaining? I agree with Ronaldo here that the manager at some point tried to make a statement, that he is the boss. I for one think ETH actually lacks capabilities in the emotional department. He's a good manager but man management capabilities is still very much TBD.
Of course it does. Ronaldo might think he's played a blinder here in 'freeing' himself, only to come to terms with the sobering reality that no one actually wants him in the big leagues. He's been awfully advised throughout this whole sad saga.Surely sacking Ronaldo suits the club and not Ronaldo?
He brought the club into disrepute. Adding in admitting to refusing to come on and it’s 100 percent a sackable offence. If it’s not I can’t think of many situations which would be.I don't think an interview like this can be interpreted as deserving of gross misconduct though. A heavy fine and suspension yes, but not enough grounds to terminate the contract?
I could easily see Ronaldo counter suing and winning if we sack him this way.
Cristiano Jr can now go "My daddy has been fired? What? He's the best player in the world"
We lead more than we trail so we have the balls we should be winning that contestI can just see it - Rival fans booming Viva Ronaldo out if we go behind in a game

Even his kid will be called that. if not, its a betrayal
Also it's so apt that his kid is named Cristiano Jr
As far as I can tell, United fans are disgusted by Ronaldo's actions but followers and other casual watchers are more likely to think the club and everything to do with it is evil. Wrong or not so wrong?
Spoony man you're too worried about his fans! Like him they're mostly wankers. As far as I can tell, United fans are disgusted by Ronaldo's actions but followers and other casual watchers are more likely to think the club and everything to do with it is evil. Wrong or not so wrong?
