Yes but a lot of people are fooled because he has scored so many goals. What people don't get is that there are lots of players in the past who have scored a lot of goals (some as many or even more than Ronaldo) who have basically been forgotten. It's quality, not quantity.
He has a lot of quality goals though.
Maybe earlier on, but it became very tap in and penalty heavy as he progressed in his career at Madrid. Go watch a compilation of all his Champions League goals to see the clear progression from all round attacking player at United (and early Madrid) to tedious tap-in merchant at Madrid and Juve.

What prolific goalscorer doesn't this apply to? People say the same thing about Kane but the reason they score so many is because they tend to get into the box and score that exact type of goal, in addition to a lot of penalties.

No player in the past has scored as many goals as Ronaldo. He is officially the player with most goals ever, the vast majority of them being on top leagues.
