Why is no-one worried about him being 36? Isn't he too old now? What am I missing? Yes I know he looks after himself but that won't stop him getting slower.
He still runs at over 21mph and has the stamina to run as much as anyone in the game.
Ronaldo is as obsessed with his fitness and his overall game that he will likely keep being one of the best in the world into his 40s - much like LeBron James in the NBA. Every stat suggests he's closer to a 27 year old than a 36 year old. To add to that, during the very slow decline of his pace, he has become more efficient with his shooting, his passing and his dribbling.
In 2011 he scored 49 goals from 116 shots on target. 0.42 goals per shot on target. Last season he scored 29 goals from 60 shots on target. 0.48 goals per shot on target.
As many people have pointed out, Ronaldo's problem in Italy was never his own performance, it was the lack of supply.
Had City gotten him they would have run away with the league. Thank god he came home instead. We haven't had a striker like this since RVPs first season.
