Yeah that’s fair...I don’t have any inside info and really just base it on, as you said, news reports and the idea that if he wanted to go to Utd Mendes would have worked that out from the off...by all accounts Mendes has a good relationship with Utd. But you’re right I have no idea...just a feeling .

he does seem delighted to be back and I’m delighted to have him. Just don’t think he is as in love with the club as the narrative suggests.

Who was that guy who he told a month ago that he was going to United though?

His camp have probably used City to he'll push it through.
Goodness Knows enough clubs have done it to us for years.

Just start him Ole. Don't dampen the mood with conservatism. OT will be buzzing, give Sancho his first start at home, and Ronaldo his (second) debut from the start.

 yes!

Back from an absolutely savage 30 day ban, can't believe he's back as well

Viva Ronaldo!!

Good time to be temp banned.

Yep only missed the first 3 games of the season, Varane's goosebump tingling unveiling, Cristiano going to City and then back to United and the end of the transfer window :(

As always with the CAF though I've still seen some absolutely drivel posted by the usual suspects so I'd of no doubt been banned for calling the, cnuts anyway :lol:

Well at least you're back in time for the Newcastle game! <3

Since he got released by Portugal early and has been training plus days he’s 100% fit it be silly to not start him

Also listening to pundits about him is hilarious. Some saying he’s not the player he was, well no crap . If he was the player he once was he be scoring 55+ a season.

The best was Paul Mersin saying he’s not the same player and he won’t be running down the wing at defenders:lol:. He hasn’t done that in years.
The reason he is still so good is he plays to his strengths while covering up his weaknesses(lost of pace) etc.

Loved when merson said "look we've all played the game. At 37 doesn't matter how for you are"

Well yes Merson maybe not to YOU but this is Ronaldo were talking about !

You should try to get banned more often

Exactly a guy that openly admits he was in the pub the day before and after matches vs one of the greatest in history that lives and breathes fitness and nutrition

Just looking at the Van Persie signing thread and it seemed like people was a lot more positive about it nobody mentioned brought up his rape accusations for example or attacking "fanboys" because they was positive.. and we have just signed a legitimate GOAT who is already a Legend at Manchester United so I don't get the negativity you'd expect more positivity especially having been starved off success for almost 10 years.. Ronny can defiantly have the same impact on this team if not bigger than Van Persie did that everyone jizzed over.. It's like some posters here resent Ronaldo getting all the positive headlines and attention for some reason even though it doesn't hurt them and Ronaldo's teammates are cool with it.. That's part of signing Ronaldo I'm afraid if you didn't want that Manchester United shouldn't have signed Ronaldo then.. it's the same for PSG with Messi but I bet the PSG fans are not complaining as the pros outweigh the cons. It'll be the same all about Ronaldo even if he was on the bench, but negative stories he's simply that big.. I'd rather positive ones with the club winning.

It's like the poster above.. this narrative agenda "we was going in the right direction anyway" so we was going to win trophies.. you could've said the same about Cantona before he joined. But that's not stopping people crediting him and putting him on a pedestal for being the catalyst is it? why do some posters have a problem with that if Ronaldo does the same? it's not hurting them is it? says more about them than Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has scored more penalties than Fernandes. Yes Fernandes has a better record but that's because he has only took like 42 penalties in his career, and he's only missed 3. Ronaldo has took 139 penalties in his career and missed just 28.. so all those people saying Fernandes should keep taking the penalties because he has a better record.. that's because he's took almost 100 penalties less than Ronaldo and in less pressure situations! if you take less penalties you'll more than likely have a better success rate.. So I hope Ronaldo gets the penalties as he's our main striker, he needs the confidence of them and the media/press are waiting for him to fail to hammer him you know the first game he doesn't score the knives will be out and he will get frustrated/lose confidence.. you wouldn't take Ruud Van Nistelrooy off penalties for Fernandes even if Fernandes has a better record.. even though Ruud Van Nistelrooy has took 52 penalties in his career and missed 13! that's a worse record than CR7 but Ruud took them as he was our main striker and needed the goals and confidence just like Ronaldo does now!

Ronaldo has took the penalties for the biggest clubs in the World in Real Madrid, Juve and Manchester United in his first spell. Aswell as Portugal. So he has the experience in pressure situations. He should take them for United.
BS. Bruno has a better conversion rate.Bruno should keep taking them.

Unfortunately he's going to get this constantly while he's back with us, along with rape talk.
The only way to keep this to a minimum is if he's scoring and doing the business on the pitch. Hopefully this crap drives him on.

Its like all the so called 'Pundits' that were saying completely opposite things when they thought he was joining City, to then change the narrative to he's not good enough when joining us.
The hate so many people in football have for us really does make me chuickle. Seeing Souness literally frothing at the mouth and having an aneurysm over Pogba's tackle was cringeworthy to watch.

It's going to be electric. Everything aside, we needed this. His presence alone will be a confidence boost. The singing the Viva Ronaldo chants, all of it will contribute to a massive game tomorrow. Newcastle should be a bit nervous.

Tell that to @Swoobs and it's a logical fallacy.

ForeverRed saying “no one really knows” is completely different from you saying “show me proof that genuine interest did not exist”, which is the logical fallacy I called you out for.
Why am I not surprised that you believed both statements meant the same thing.

To use god as an example, there is a difference between “no one really knows if god exists” versus demanding others to “show me the proof that god does not exist”

The latter statement and your initial statement is an example of a logical fallacy, not the former.

It is really not that hard, read the link

If was in reply to someone saying it's certain there was no interest. Anyway I don't know how I've attracted a stage 4 reddit atheist in a Ronaldo vs Messi thread. Did you just get your first copy of Dawkins or something ?

Did someone argue that city were not interested in Ronaldo?

I saw the post but didn't get the context.
