There would still be plenty people whom attend lower league games. People follow their local clubs in England as far as I could tell when I lived there.

I severely doubt that people would just stay in if an odd 3 pm game was televised.
It would massively impact lower league clubs. For example, if United are playing on a Sunday I go & watch my hometown club and their gates would be decimated if Wolves/Villa were on, never mind if United/Liverpool etc were on TV at the same time. I know loads of people that go all the time and can count on the fingers of one hand the people that don't follow a "big club". And to be fair that's a club that is still 20 miles from Wolves, 40 miles from Villa - looking at the league they play in the amount of clubs that are literally on the doorstep of much bigger clubs like United, City, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds is crazy, those clubs struggle enough to get people through the doors as it is.

And that's just the immediate short term view. The longer term problem is it kills the lower levels over 10-20-30 years as the parents who would take their kids to the local club just to watch a live game every week or two would stop if their "big club" was on TV at 3pm on a Saturday.

It is essential and probably the biggest reason lower and non league football in this country is still so well supported.

The armchair lot would be better served taking their anger out on the TV companies for not picking United-Newcastle for the first time in god knows how many years as opposed to a ruling that is great for the game in this country.
Nonsense. You think fans aren’t watching their team in a pub with illegal streams or on their laptop at home?
It makes as much sense as banning the Brits from watching porn.

What is your hometown club? Is it Sunday league? I mean clubs 10 tears down might have an effect if a big club was playing in vicinity.

It's not nonsense at all, as I literally just posted:

Anyone who doesn't think that is the case either knows absolutely nothing about it or is that blinkered that they just do not give a feck. So yes, people do watch streams or go to the pub but a hell of a lot of people just go and watch their local team. If you freely put those games on television the amount of people who go and watch their local club literally dies out over time.

They play in the Conference North and average between 1000 and 1500. It is noticeable when Wolves are at home for example because the gate drops & it would drop even more if Wolves were on tv at the same time.

It's obviously a relatively small club but you've got clubs in the same league in United & Citys shadow playing in front of 250/300 fans every week where half the crowd is wearing a United or City coat.

On top of that, a lot of lower league football clubs show the games in the clubhouse and having the chance to go and support your local side AND catch the 3pm kickoff on the big screen would be appealing to many.

But the reality is that 3pm are gutted for any matches that the broader public would want to watch. There are some absolute tumescent games that’s thrown on there. If Burnley v Arsenal kills League 2 then I don’t know what to say.
If anything it’s the kid finding the dodgy steam online for his dad to watch on a Saturday that’s the reality

Is there strong data to back this up?

Case in point that you don't understand it. By all means Burnley-Arsenal may be a shite game in your view, in reality there are multiple lower & non league clubs within 15-20 miles of Burnley and a ridiculous number of clubs in London. All of which could easily be affected if that game was on TV at 3pm on a Saturday. And that's presuming every Burnley or Arsenal fan who'd watch on TV is local to their clubs.
Is there strong data to back this up?
I said "probably" so that would suggest I don't have any particular data other than what I see, but given I probably go to 30-40 non league matches a year and have done for 25+ years I'd say I'm relatively well positioned to make the point.

Apologies if covered in here, but seen Tweet's that he's quarantining, others that he's starting to train. Anyone got confirmation? Given he's walking around without a mask with Fletch, seems like the latter but who knows.

I'm not questioning your non-league watching bona fides, but I often see this as a reason for why there's no 3 pm kick-off on tv but have never seen any hard data on it. No doubt you have some anecdotal evidence, but I was just wondering if it was indeed true. I was reading something a while ago, and it was mentioned briefly how other countries around the world who don't have this rule, didn't see a big drop off in their non-league viewing figures. Granted, if it's a big match that's being broadcast it could have an impact, but it just seems like a bit of a relic, when nearly every country in the world can view these games, apart from the country where these games take place.

Was genuinely curious that's all. It's not as if these games are impossible to find, even if the legality of it is questionable...

Poor Wayne. You can blame it on training/commitment/alcohol, or whatever, but the biggest factor really is genetics. I went to school with a lad that looked like a late-40’s balding maths teacher by the time he was 20.

Outdated as feck. From an era before the internet, never mind before streaming became so accessible.

Anyone in the UK who wants to watch an illegal stream of United v Newcastle will be doing exactly that. They're not going to go and watch a live Conference match because United isn't on TV.
Then why are so many complaining about it not being on TV? Making it easier to watch will only increase the number who choose to stay at home and watch it.

I used to go and watch my local team every week. I stopped when it became easier to stay at home and watch United games. And I know others that did too. You thinking it doesn’t happen isn’t the reality.

Of course, if there is a will there is a way to find them obviously and large numbers of people have already stopped going in favour of watching streams. And I don't necessarily think the immediate drop off would be dramatic, though it would ne noticeable (as an example my club sees a drop off in gates when Wolves are at home, that would no doubt increase if they were on TV too), I think it's the longer term impact that would be huge for smaller clubs.

I think for Wayne if he was as committed to perfection as ronaldo, he could have had a career of similar length and wouldn't look so bad. Maybe it's genetics but at the same time, he had the genetics to become a pro (one of the best of his time at that) in the first place.

maybe we'll see with their kids if it's truly genetics or just commitment to do the right thing day in and day out as we follow their careers.

Holy shit that’s like 70 people! Transfer and wages paid for.

And half of them are already carrying megastore bags. Which suggests they got them to come back around for the video.

Being unprofessional and lazy off the pitch had much more to do with it than genetics.
I long lost count how often Rooney looked unfit, how many matches he always needed to look fit and how often he unexpectedly missed games when SAF’s explanation was “Wayne got a virus”.

Great to have the legend back but I wish MUFC would ease up on the promotional shit!
feck me! Last time I checked it was a team game.

Can’t find anymore XS sized ladies home shirts on DHGate. Anyone know any other cheap, reputable knock off sites? If not I might have to just risk a Men’s XXS

Does anyone else once a day just stop what they're doing and think 'Cristiano Ronaldo... Cristiano. Ronaldo. CRISTIANO RONALDO!!!' and then carry on with their day?
