Pretty much. The club stance throughout the entire window was that he was not for sale, and we never actively sought a replacement either.
Do you seriously believe that? It's obvious the only reason he didn't leave was that no club that he wanted, i.e. playing in the CL, had any desire to recruit him.

Weren't we monitoring Gakpo, didn't we try to sign Nunez? And didn't Ronaldo say that the club wanted him out and that he rejected offers?

We monitor a lot of targets, but striker was very low on the list. Also dont believe we seriously went in for Nunez, more like we did a City on Sanchez and baited them to bid big.

It's hard to say if a move could've been done had the club been more cooperative.

It's interesting because you deny actual reports including reports stating that we were listening to offers while also believing things that you made up. You basically created your own alternate reality which happens to go against Ronaldo's own words.

How many headers has he scored for Real? That doesn't look that much like it.

I'm literally saying why not listen to all reports and not just the ones that say there was nowhere to go? The only one I didn't personally believe was that we bid 80-100m for Nunez

Arnautovic was pretty close to signing, he would've been a direct replacement for Ronaldo.

Which reputable ones were reporting clubs were in for him, at the end of the window it was clear we would have let him move for 0 but no one wanted it probably due to 500k pw I still don't see a CL club going for him bar Chelsea because the owner is a moron

No you are not, you made things up to the point where even Ronaldo's words can't be listened by a Ronaldo supporter like yourself.

This watch thing is such a non story. There is very little similarity. Espn looks like it’s being as clickbaity as ever!

Manchester United is doing what's best and moving on from Ronaldo to become a force in Europe again.

The same interview where he said he had many suitors in the summer? Weird how you are fixated on that one line. Meanwhile, the club held firm on their stance that he was not for sale, and we made no moves for a striker. Those are the facts.

Brilliant news, can pay three decent footballers weekly wages with the money being wasted on him every week with absolutely zero nonsense.

Clubs very rarely outright say that a player is for sale. For obvious reasons.

The Arnautovic fiasco doesn't count?

The same interview where he said he had many suitors in the summer? Weird that you are just picking out that one line. Meanwhile, the club held firm on their stance that he was not for sale, and we made no moves for a striker. Those are the facts.

You dismissed reported moves for attackers based on your belief not facts. And there is zero indication that United considered that Ronaldo was not for sale, in fact Ronaldo said that the club wanted him out and that he rejected offers. I would have no issue blaming the club for not wanting to sell him but there is no indication that the club had the stance that you claim and there is in fact indications that they didn't had that stance.

Fair, but with the timing being so late, it's wasn't hard to understand why the club would be reluctant to sell.

One of the first report was on July 7, granted that it was from Sky but it was only supported all summer.

Yeah, it’s exciting thinking about this part now. That’s a lot of wage and a lot of wiggle room.

CR7 discussion should be put behind us now and we should focus on bringing in players with a positive impact with the money. That’s the exciting part.

Don't be so gullible. It's not even the same angle, side or body shape, his legs are in completely different positions. It's just an artists rendering of him scoring a header.

It is the goal against United in 2012/2013, that angle is from the corner flag. Use google image and you will find it.

ESPN fecked up with their image, this one is a lot clearer. And by that I mean that they're clearly identical.

Looks the same to me, even the creases in the shirt are the same (thought naturally, a shirt will crease in a similar way each time).

Whoever worked on the design will have used a reference image, and it might very well have been this one. Ronaldo might not even have been aware of it, could just be the designer having a laugh and deliberately picking that image. Or it really could have been a totally different header.

I don’t know that Ronaldo would have cared enough to deliberately pick out his header against us for it. I bet he didn’t even know what reference image was used for it, the designer of the watch probably just showed him the stencil design and he ok’d it.

First target was Brobbey. ETH literally assumed he will sign up but he chose Ajax. Then we were heavily linked with Sesko, Arnautovic, Gapko. Gapko was almost done until we ran out of funds due to Antony transfer.

We did try hard to get a striker, unfortunately didn't materialised.

you talk so much guff with such conviction, I love it

I don’t think Henderson’s was that bad - he came across poorly and a bit cocky/deluded but wasn’t his point that he basically was mislead over getting game time?
Yeh. I don't have problem with Henderson's. It's just the FA need to be consistent, i guess.

I also forgot about Brobbey and Sesko. Thinking about it, it was the position with the most links.

Yeh. Irony of it we couldn't sign one. But it proves that we were trying to move away from Ronaldo as he was finding suiters around Europe. I also assume we did not pursue last ditch stop gap transfer as it became apparent Ronaldo couldn't find another employer, contrary to what he claimed.
