Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

Benzema is coming off a Ballon D'Or season as the clear cut main man and will be club captain next season, don't think they're going to want to disturb that in any way.

They willingly let go of a 33 year old Ronaldo, they won't bring back the 37 year old version

True but I don’t imagine Benzema or the other stalwarts in the Madrid squad would have a problem welcoming him back.

Eh. You've gotta love his attitude, but he's on substantial wages and is honestly one of the least composed #9's I've ever seen. I don't think he's what we need personally.

He used to score for fun in the red bull club before. I remember him being one of the most wanted striker that year. He cannot just become useless all of a sudden. I seriously belive he'd do well under ETH

Wonderful news. Getting rid of the biggest ever ego in football and toxic environment in dressing room.

We need real reform. There are many young and hungry players to replace him who are more suitable for ETH system.

Agree that no one will take him on the wages we are paying him , but there have been a few reports today that he is willing to taken a significant pay cut to join a team that can challenge for titles and CL.

He will certainly need a to take a pay cut to get a move.
For big club, the salary is not big issue. It’s about the team. If he knows he is on bench for a game, what will happen? How about two games, three games…?
We don’t need him really. If I were ETH, I will prepare the squad without no matter if he leaves. Even if he stays, leave him out. The dressing room needs back to united.

Can’t see him staying personally.

The club is basically briefing that we are better off without him.

Convenient?

How about you take a fecking second and think about what you're saying there.

Yeah I think it's a load of shite. Maybe it's not, just very convenient that he says he wants to leave then has family issues the day he is due to return to training.

I have a fear that he wants to go and we want him to go but there are no takers. I’m happy for him to move to Chelsea because I know he’ll weaken their team but fear that the board will take it an image hit and block it from happening.

They were set piece freaks last year to be fair, and scored 24 goals from defence. Can’t see us matching that total.

Obviously we are both being extreme. But I don’t think it’s hard to see a season where we lose CR7. Replace him with no one and have a better scoring output. Just on the basis that our overall game play improves.

Not sure why it’s taking this long for him to decide to go? Couldn’t he have done this weeks ago?

Don’t mind him going in all fairness.. it would free up wages for a couple of quality players, would allow us to play more pressing style football, he is a moaning git on the pitch and it does let us start a new era.

Would be a kick in the balls if he went to Chelsea though.. would much prefer he went to Bayern.

How much has he taken in wages since his last game for us? Surely a player who does this is in breach of contract? It’s pathetic what players get away with. Sell him without conversations to anyone willing to meet the price ideally the USA.

Saha vs Ruud, remember that?

Part of me thinks we should really have just let him go to City.

I also think he was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Ole and the team that lead to his sacking. Without Ronaldo I think there would have been much more harmony and Ole potentially surges the season but obviously ETH.

Maybe this was a necessary shooting of our own foot to reset everything.

Ok, there tiger. You’re right. It’s 87%… The point was most of us were happy.

Nobody cares mate. Bizarre thing to argue about. You’ve been here 5 weeks. It was a general comment about the mood of the Caf, which you were not here to gauge.

If you want to troll, please do so elsewhere.

For goodness sake. Would you grow up. You're acting like a petulant child.

My time on the Caf is completely irrelevant and the fact you've brought it up twice now shows your immaturity and your inability to converse to an adult level.
You seem to think caf membership gives you some sort of superiority. Guess what. It doesn't

The general feeling around Ronaldo signing wasn't of 'pure delight'. It was mixed. Many fans haven't forgotten or forgiven how he left the club in 09 or how he has treated the club since.
If you want to get a true feeling of the club go to the occasional game. I can assure you. 95% of the fans there weren't exactly buzzing that he was back.

The only ones I saw delighted at his signing were the ones outside the Megastore feeding the Glazers pockets by buying a replica top.

I'll say this again. The Caf is not the voice for Manchester United fans.

It's a win win situation for all.
Just imagine if you are playing with Ronaldo, the entire team work hard by running and pressing together. But the team can't function efficiently because Ronaldo refused to press. But Ronaldo still demand to play every game.

This is the recipe for disaster and toxic dressing room next season. With Ronaldo's ego, there is no way we can have a good team spirit playing ETH's style of play.

Yes. He’s in Lisbon at the Portugal training facility
There are conflicting reports (and I’m not saying which one is right or wrong) because Romano just said that he really has a family emergency and he’s coming back to Manchester to train and meet with Ten Hag in the next days. Let’s see what unfolds in the next few days.

There is a video of him.

Well, then.

The only "hard ball" playing United could possibly be contemplating is refusing to sell him to Chelsea.

Because we think he'd improve a rival.

I personally doubt he'd improve them all that much - but there you go. Perhaps if Tuchel comes up with a way to use him as an impact sub - yes, possibly.

But even in that scenario, it'd be better for us to let him go.

We have to worry about ourselves first and foremost.

I agree. Being spiteful will hold us back.

There's no conflict, it could be both.

I love how we make out we want him to stay and we would definitely never consider selling him to Chelsea. Whereas the truth is ETH would drive him to Stamford Bridge himself, knowing that it would wreck their top four chances and increase ours.

I doubt Tuchel is that dumb but you never know.

What does that even mean? We're the equivalent of a charity case at the moment. Ronaldo has maybe two years left at the top and wants to cement his legacy at the greatest footballer of all time. Why would he stay with us when he can realistically win another CL and confirm that? Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions, but that's why he's an out and out winner.

How many people actually believe that he's the greatest footballer of all time?

One of the greatest?....sure. But thee greatest?

Isn't that award just a popularity contest? It's voted by fans and obviously he'd win in almost any conditions.
In Spain and all South America he is basically a meme with all the "bicho" and "bichosexual" stuff.

Embarrassing from the club.

Trying to spin this and make Ronaldo appear as the villain.

Shame on Ronaldo for being more ambitious than the rest of the squad?

Our confirmed signings is a back up LB and a free transfer.

If I was in Ronaldo's shoes I would leave too.
