Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

What does that even mean? We're the equivalent of a charity case at the moment. Ronaldo has maybe two years left at the top and wants to cement his legacy at the greatest footballer of all time. Why would he stay with us when he can realistically win another CL and confirm that? Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions, but that's why he's an out and out winner.
He’s built his entire public image on being the lad who’s always up for a challenge, as opposed to Messi who can’t leave his comfort zone.

I think those are fair conditions. The only ones likely to win the CL in England are Liverpool, and maybe City (despite all evidence to the contrary). Klopp won't want him and City have Haaland. Chelsea are in transition and it is not at all certain they can bring a proper challenge quickly enough. I don't think Bayern are going to be paying him 500k a week either, so it probably has to be Italy or France next for him.

I won’t rule out a Real return. Still think he’ll end up staying, mind you.

Whatever happens in the end i just this doesn't get ugly.
It'll only get ugly if he does daft things like push for Chelsea.

I think Bayern is a good fit. He can pad his stats endlessly and maybe they get his best in the CL.

I'd bite their hands off for Werner. Werner can be really good signing for us.
Yeah agreed - versatile, rapid and mobile. We need to have 11 players defending to get anywhere near the CL spots this year and old Ronnie isn't going to do that.

Him going I couldn't give a shite about as he shouldn't have come back in the first place, but the issue of replacing him is a big one. Our budget doesn't appear to be that big, and we're already tied up with other signings as it is.

Replacing him might not be that big of an issue. For a start, he has only been here one season and the team will no longer have to cater to him as it currently does. This gives ETH a degree of flexibility.

We certainly need a new attacker who will hopefully benefit the team more than Ronaldo did. Someone who will press, defend from the front and play for the team and not just himself. Ronaldo scored 18 league goals last season, almost half of which came in just three games, his contribution was over rated in my view. I'm sure we can manage to sign someone who can score 15 league goals and has higher work rate.

Carragher was right when he said last year than Ronaldo would have a great season but United will be poor.

Great timing doing it after our top CF target has joined our rivals and in the middle of negotiations for other transfers

So there's been an acceptance it will help Ten Hag yet (a) we didn't force the issue despite it being "better" for Ten Hag and (b) we didn't go shopping for a FW despite it being "better" for Ten Hag.

Get real.

Get fvcking real.

Club run by amateurs.

I'd like Werner, to be honest.

Rapid and works hard. Couldn't score in a brothel but if we create enough chances, he could hit double figures.

In the FM that I played, he signed for Chelsea after I didn't extend his contract.

Yeah the likes of De Jong, Bruno, Eriksen & Sancho creating chances for him

It will end the same way it did at Juventus. He'll come in this week, say goodbye, empty his locker then sit at home until Mendes tell's him a deal is done somewhere and then he'll jump on a plane and sign the next day
Yeah, him pushing for something like Chelsea would make a mess of things especially seeing how him moving to a direct rival and a potential adversary for that top 4 position would create a shitstorm among the fans.

I think we're going to refuse to sell to Chelsea but then the toxicity that would bring, it's getting very iffy indeed.

Every time I watch him he seems to provide zero goal threat whatsoever. Not a fan at all.

It would have been two months ago. He’s an utter cnut waiting to do this until now.

I’m happy for him to go I think it would be for the best.

He may have already said behind the scenes he wasn't going to be there for next season training. He may have been told by ETH that he's gonna have to press or get dropped. We just don't know. What we do know is that he is not going to fit in to our plans so we might as well get rid and he might as well go. Frankly it was a huge mistake signing him in the first place, typical of Woodward. The rest is just noise.

Moving to Bayern is best for everyone. I'm sure Ronaldo would take a paycut to play for Bayern. The money I think is not as important to him as winning trophies and securing his legacy. And he is never going to PSG, the entire point of moving for him, I am sure would be to continue his eternal rivalry with Messi, as to who is the best of their generation. Let's not forget even with Messi being shit last season, he still won two trophies, which is two more than Ronaldo.

How can we not? If he wants out he'd be a nightmare to keep.

But we wouldn't just give him to Chelsea. They'd have to pay more than we'd probably accept from Bayern and co and I doubt Chelsea would stump up that plus whatever wages he wants

If he wanted easy trophies he'd have gone to Sporting.

Can’t see him going to Chelsea, but I really don’t care either way. He’s still a decent player but he’s likely to upset the balance wherever he goes. Not turning up to training should hardly surprise anyone, he’s always been a bit of a brat. Hopefully we make a point and fine him some of those 500k (or whatever) a week wages he’s on.

Oh if Bayern are really interested the club will defo push for that option. Without a doubt.

If we're willing to do a deal with Chelsea, I'd be way more interested in Jorginho than Werner or Kante.

A Jorginho/Frenkie midfield would be great. Really well balanced, both excellent technical footballers. Jorginho sitting, spraying passes around which gives Frenkie the stability to roam around and work his magic.

It would be a tough one to take seeing him rock up at Chelsea....unless we finished above them and dump them into the Europa (and of course they win jack) but for everyone's sake, I hope he goes to Bayern and we can somehow persuade Lewandowski to go the other way.

Hes signing for city, isnt he? I can visualize it :(
Why on Earth would they want him? They won the league without him and they’ve just signed the best out and out striker in football at the moment.

if we let them sign him then we might have had a better chance at signing Haaland ourselves.

Unlikely though because City tricked us to panic buying Ronaldo.
