What happens to Portuguese players is that, they play like that "Finding Ronaldo Tactic" in Portuguese National team so they are hard wired, as for other players, Ronaldo demands the ball on the pitch so a figure like Ronaldo is hard to ignore and some of these players grew up watching him and dreaming to play with him so they sometimes end up doing whatever he wants even if it isn't beneficial for the whole team. These things would have worked if Ronaldo was at his prime or even early stages of decline in physical condition. But now Ronaldo has decline physically so much that every time this happens it results in wasted opportunity or ball lost and chance for the opposition to score and some have scored goals from lost balls like that. I for one believe we can still use Ronaldo, but more as a impact sub and in some cup games. I don't think if the manage has a choice (Injuries and availability) he will play Ronaldo is high intensity games where speed is required up top to hurt the opposition. Some dream of Antony cross Ronaldo heads into goal, very much could happen but he isn't a player who can play games every 3/4 days for 60+ minutes. Reality is the great legend is in decline and at 37 he has done wonders beyond anyone could have thought on and this year he is going to be 38 and if doesn't retire he can play till he is 100 years old if not dead, we can't say 100 year old Ronaldo should be the main striker and argue his past stats with young strikers to start him. Great like Zidane, Figo retired in their early 30's, when they realized they are on decline and we are left with good memories about them because of that. If Ronaldo keeps persisting like a spoiled brat that he can play high intensity games every 3/4 non stop for 90 mins, when he eventually retires this chapter will leave a bad memory in people's mind about him.
