I completely agree. The bizarre thing is people like @NewYorkRed argue the opposite - that it's immature, social media fans that are detached from the club that 'hate' on Ronaldo.

Terminate the contract is the one option which I don't think the club would want to do even if ten hag wanted it. If it's true that the others who left were not in the match day squad, then the answer is obviously yes: it's far more problematic (on all levels) that an actual squad member leaves early without permission. In fact, it's a pretty blatant act of disrespect.
