Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

With Lewandowski gone to Barcelona, one would've thought Bayern could have been a possible move. Strange they didn't go for him. Could have been a boost for another Champions League trophy for them.

At this point I would rather see him leave, as it seems to be his wish, but if he ends up staying I bet he'll be our top scorer again. Even if we play better without him in the team, he'll score the goals. That's just what he does.

Bayern's coach Nagelsmann didn't get along with Lewandowski last season because of the style of play he wanted to implement. Nagelsmann wants a fluid attack. Bringing Ronaldo doesn't make sense for Bayern.

Signing Ronaldo goes against everything Bayern stands for. Signing value in the market, etc. Even more importantly, they couldn't even look down on other top clubs and shake their head over how they spend money. And there's nothing more precious to them than that. Well, maybe belittling other Bundesliga clubs is, but that's pretty much a guarantee anyway ;)

We need to get rid of this guy now. I get the feeling ten hag won't put up with his bollocks, and that's one of the many things I like about him (besides the fact I look almost exactly like him). Enough is enough. Do your job, or piss off. You get paid handsomely to kick a ball about.

Why would any United fans still support him at this stage? He's so transparently about himself and could care less about our club. I say let him rot in the reserves, or offer to annul his contract. He can go free to this long list of suitors he has.

I wanted to join Real Madrid but unfortunately I am being forced to stay at my five a side team.

I'm sorry , but no he didn't. I watched almost all his games at United and at Madrid and he simply did not. Against bigger sides like ourselves in the UCL 2013, vs Barcelona etc he was anonymous but popped up with a goal or two. Against smaller sides where Real was outright superior he was a bigger threat but more as a goal threat rather than a dominating playmaker.

Ronaldo in his peak was great at counter attacks, heading, long distance shooting, and anticipating where the ball will fall for him to score. All these are geared to scoring goals. At no point was he a good passer and neither did he have good vision. And as as far as dribbling was concerned, it was almost always about pace and having acres of space to run into facilitating counter attacks.

The only exception to all this was 2006/07 season where his allround play was really good/great and while he wasn't exactly a playmaker, he was a more consistent threat from the wings than he has ever been.

I understand you love Cristiano and yes he is one of the greatest ever but that is based purely on the number and importance of his goals rather than dominating opponents/ playmaking. There is always the danger of creating myths which you are already doing.
I watched over 19 full seasons of Ronaldo, and I completely disagree with you.

I can post every stats (goals, assists, dribbles, avg rating) and every honours (5x Ballon D’ors winners 7x runners up), and post many many hours of footage of every single season to disprove all your claims, but I doubt you would take any of these seriously as you have already formed your own opinion deep in your mind regardless.

I understand you hate Ronaldo and despise him as a player, so let’s just leave it here.

wow. This is embarrassing.

Could he?

I’m not the one who worships some man-child for 19 years. But please continue embarrassing yourself. Cheers!
I have followed Man Utd for 30+ years, and followed Ronaldo for 19 years since his debut with us. I have also followed many other players for 10+ years too.
You are such an assuming weirdo.

Maybe you should stop judging what people are passionate about. It's not your business how people spend their time. You're posting on a football forum, I'm sure you'll find many people who find this embarassing as well. Who gives a feck.

No one can question Ronaldo's contribution before he left for Real.
But he is no longer a footballer.
He is a business.
It was a monumental error by Woodward to bring him back.
And we are now scrambling for a striker.

100%

Ronaldo is your superhero. Everyone has gotten it really here. But it’s becoming really boring…

Spot on.

I think I was more upset when it seemed like nobody knew when he was coming back. Now that he's back and seems to be professional about it, I don't really see any reason to complain. I've always been of the opinion I won't mind him staying as long as he doesn't bring any negativity to the club

Followed might not be the right word for Ronaldo. You should try using the word obsessed. :wenger:

From what I’ve learned from behind the scenes, Ronaldo is extremely toxic . He has to go, and the sooner it happens, the better.

You should make use of your unhealthy obsession and apply to go on mastermind

:nervous: not sure what you mean here
He's so far up his hole it's sickening. Ronaldo can do no wrong according to Rio and I think he'd have greater respect if he took off his ronaldo tinted glasses any time there's an issue

It's insane to say that Ronaldo didn't have playmaking abilities, vision or he couldn't dribble. He was supposed to be the best "pure" winger of all time and around 2007 the coaching staff has realized he's probably the best header of the ball on Earth which proved to be right since he scored 150 headers in his career so far. He perfected the modern inverted winger & inside forward role.

Is supporting Man Utd becoming really boring for you too?
I respect your opinions and dedication to defend your superhero. It’s nothing wrong. As I said, I feel boring about such a thing. If you take a step back and think the debates and arguments for an extra moment, maybe, you can see there are a lot of people here are fans of manutd more than any individual player whatever his previous achievements and contributions are.
so, let’s be clear. I support this club and it’s not boring to do so. Any player putting himself above manutd, should be dumped. That’s my opinion.

What would you take. A boring 1-0 Utd win or a 3-4 defeat with Ronaldo scoring a hatrick?

For a start I don't hate him. Sure I don't like his character (selfish, posing and preening) and how he has treated United this summer. I feel that his fanboys tend to exaggerate his ability when they dont need to. I respect his achievements.

I watched most of his games, and I struggle to remember any game at all where he was the dominating playmaker you claim him to be.

As for stats:
Dribbles per 90 mins completed in la liga (https://www.skysports.com/football/...-too-much-of-the-creative-burden-at-barcelona)
Season 2009/10 ( age 24-25): 3.3
Season 2010/11 ( age 25-26): 2.2
Season 2011/12 ( age 26-27): 2.1
Season 2012/13 ( age 27-28): 2.0
Season 2013/14 ( age 28-29): 2.4
Season 2014/15 ( age 29-30): 1.8

Not great is it. Decent in 09/10 that's it.

Assists per year (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ba...o-ronaldo-goals-assists-mesut-ozil-ballon-dor)
2008: 12
2009: 12
2010: 18
2011: 15
2012: 13
2013: 17
2014: 22
2015: 15

If I'm to be honest the assist stats are better than I would expect but generally can be explained by the position on the pitch. It's very rare for a Ronaldo assist to be something extraordinary that would require a great deal of artistry. That is why you don’t ever remember them.
Have a look at

Almost all assists are crosses or fairly simple passes that you'd expect from a forward or a winger. Hardly, if any, playmaker passes, the kind someone like Riquelme would be proud of.

Hey guys back off I have followed Man Utd for 30+ years, and followed @RedRonaldo for 19 seconds since his debut with us in this thread. I have also followed many other posters for 10+ seconds too.

The fact he has a small shrine and an industrial sized lotion bottle that is almost empty now doesn’t mean anything obsessive or taboo is going on here. Can a person not gently caress oneself whilst softly purring “Siuuuuuuu” without hyperbolic reactions from those that just don’t get it? Take you bias elsewhere what they have is special and you just don’t understand you couldn’t understand.

You are such assuming weirdos.

For those of us who want him gone I'd say we're relying on some club getting panicky as the deadline approaches and snapping him up. Possibly an Italian club, bit surprised that neither Milan club has been linked as of yet.
