Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

I want him gone but that’s about as likely as us signing all the players we need. Shit situation for all involved.

I watched over 19 full seasons of Ronaldo, and I completely disagree with you.

I can post every stats (goals, assists, dribbles, avg rating) and every honours (5x Ballon D’ors winners 7x runners up), and post many many hours of footage of every single season to disprove all your claims, but I doubt you would take any of these seriously as you have already formed your own opinion deep in your mind regardless.

I understand you hate Ronaldo and despise him as a player, so let’s just leave it here.
:lol:. So if that cnut goes in lets say Chelsea, you will support Chelsea?

If he really wants to go, he can buy out the contract. However, there's no other club that has come forward so on and on we go.

For what it's worth, I don't think Ronaldo is the problem in this side - yes he doesn't track back nor press, but I seem to recall that most numbers 9's (including the coveted Lewandowski or Benzema) don't do that either and that doesn't seem to be a big problem for their clubs. Ronaldo is a distraction, not the main problem this summer.

We have a huge hole in midfield that we're yet to fecking address and it's so frustrating.

For those of us who want him gone I'd say we're relying on some club getting panicky as the deadline approaches and snapping him up. Possibly an Italian club, bit surprised that neither Milan club has been linked as of yet.

Neither of the Milan sides can afford him...

After pre season Martial (rightly) has the starting place…but ETH will find out soon enough that those front 3 will come up short when the going gets tough.

Then Ronaldo will be back in (like it or not)

What a nerd

Ronaldo isn't physically up to it.

Don't mind if Ronaldo goes, I'm sure his wages won't be worth his goals this year. He should go and get CL football elsewhere and take a pay cut.

I'd rather have long term solutions to the squad.

He could pay to play to bag those group stage goals.

I'm sure he could find a club if he offered them 5 million.

He’s such a valued asset that no one wants him. After such a positive pre season tour, he’s only been around for one friendly and it’s already the Ronaldo shitshow. Plenty more to come if he stays.

No - and neither can Napoli.

But if he's desperate for CL football, he'll presumably take a pay cut.

Question is whether any of those clubs are interested in him as such (even on a more realistic salary, that is).

Not sure why some bring up Serie A as a destination. Inter have bad finances (sell to buy/they couldn’t even sign Dybala on a free without moving Dzeko or Sanchez first) and Milan have a internal wage ceiling of 6m euros net. Only Juve can afford him and we know that return isn’t happening.

I still can't get over how badly him and his agent etc. have handled this situation. It's so unbelievably amateur for people with so much experience.
His ego got the better of him. It sucks that the season is about to start with this issue still unresolved. I don't want him to stay but it seems that he will, so I hope he starts backtracking soon so we can start the season properly.

I was up for giving him another chance but after seeing that EtH footage on the sidelines, he can feck right off.

I just hope ETH benches him so he can look on from the sidelines and realise what a bellend he is. Then after a few games he might get over it but he still needs to be an impact sub/rotation option. Once his contract expires he can feck off

What would you take. A boring 1-0 Utd win or a 3-4 defeat with Ronaldo scoring a hatrick?
Of course United win, did u not hear I say I supported the club for over 30 years? What a weird question.

Honestly think all the people giving him abuse are closet Ronaldo fans, hurt that he wants to leave & lashing out. If you really don't think he's good & don't care if he's gone then why all the vitriol? If rumours came out of Wan-Bissaka wanting to leave I bet none of you would bat an eyelid.

For a start I don't hate him. Sure I don't like his character (selfish, posing and preening) and how he has treated United this summer. I feel that his fanboys tend to exaggerate his ability when they dont need to. I respect his achievements.

I watched most of his games, and I struggle to remember any game at all where he was the dominating playmaker you claim him to be.

As for stats:
Dribbles per 90 mins completed in la liga (https://www.skysports.com/football/...-too-much-of-the-creative-burden-at-barcelona)
Season 2009/10 ( age 24-25): 3.3
Season 2010/11 ( age 25-26): 2.2
Season 2011/12 ( age 26-27): 2.1
Season 2012/13 ( age 27-28): 2.0
Season 2013/14 ( age 28-29): 2.4
Season 2014/15 ( age 29-30): 1.8

Not great is it. Decent in 09/10 that's it.

Assists per year (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ba...o-ronaldo-goals-assists-mesut-ozil-ballon-dor)
2008: 12
2009: 12
2010: 18
2011: 15
2012: 13
2013: 17
2014: 22
2015: 15

If I'm to be honest the assist stats are better than I would expect but generally can be explained by the position on the pitch. It's very rare for a Ronaldo assist to be something extraordinary that would require a great deal of artistry. That is why you don’t ever remember them.
Have a look at

Almost all assists are crosses or fairly simple passes that you'd expect from a forward or a winger. Hardly, if any, playmaker passes, the kind someone like Riquelme would be proud of.

If you also combined all these with his high avg rating (reflect performance) and goals, it does reflect a player who is dominating the game for a very long period.

Also, I did say he was an dominating all around attacker who boss the games during his 20s, and I did also say he was always capable of making good pass and involving in build up play etc. I don’t see how you would suddenly draw conclusion and conclude I did claim he is “dominating playmaker”. I wouldn’t brand him as “playmaker” for a start, I’d always insist he is an “all around attacker” during his peak rather. But ever since he reached 30+ of age, he turned himself more into “poacher” rather than “all round attacker” of his whole 20s, which was basically the the starting point of our argument.

Anyway, let’s agree to disagree. I know you have other favourite player and other preferred style of play, but Ronaldo bossing the game (goals+assist+performance+overall attacking impact) doesn’t necessarily diminsh other player you supported at all.

I don’t think that’s true. I honestly wouldn’t be upset if he left. Tbh at this point I really do want him gone. No hatred towards him, but it’ll be better going forward for the club and more importantly the manager if he goes. He’s not an indispensable world class talent anymore. He’s a very good player but carries far too much baggage than it’s worth. We’ve had a positive first few weeks under ETH and these last few days is just a taste of what’s to come if he stays. Far too often, it’s all about him and not the team. We’ve already seen instances of it last season with his arm throwing, head shaking and tantrums when being subbed. People can argue all they like that it’s his “normal” behaviour, but that kind of behaviour is still going to irk other players and staff around him.

Even if we end up very lightweight in attacking options, id rather we have a positive team spirit than having him with us and all focus and attention being on his next mood swing.
