And Its not like Ronaldo used to dominate opponents in the champions league when he was at Madrid. He made the difference by poaching goals without himself rarely producing anything remotely memorable outside the goals.
And he had a fair number of stinkers too e.g vs Atletico in 2014 and 2016, vs Liverpool in 2018, vs Bayern in 2018, vs City in 2016. In many other games, he produced stinkers but the goals glossed over the performances. I remember distinctly him producing a mediocre game vs US in 2013 yet poached a goal.

Many questions of the press - about the players, Lewy, transfers - and a little about how Bayern wants to play this season. We’re just going down a different rabbit hole here. The initial argument was related to Madrid being better or worse after he left, and the resounding evidence suggests they were worse on the whole after his departure and have only just recovered to resemble a true Real Madrid team after 3-4 years and even then are still not as good as they were with him in the side.
If they really want him out of the way, but he has to stay this season, then just install a massive mirror in the changing room. Not because he's vain but because this whole farce has shown that he's a complete idiot, and he'll just spend hours arguing with his reflection.

Interesting to hear your opinion on what will matter for a players legacy. In contrast, I used to think Juventus was a great team til they got exposed for match fixing and were relegated. To me, that kind of thing affects the legacy in the game more than narcissism.
