I think most fans were thinking Messi has been the better player. I feel the tide is turning, a lot of non-United fans are in awe and changing their mind. He is sensational. Big games, big goals, always important, incredible in the air, phenomenal in the last few minutes of games. What a machine!

Couldn't be more true...

Amazing player, amazing scorer. The best I have ever seen.

I hope we can get a good manager and win something for him (with him). It would be a pity to waste the whole year for no reason. We don't know how many more years CR7 has left, we should not waste them.

He’s going to have massive back issues from carrying the team.
On a more serious note, he’s supposed to be kept in cotton wool so that he can do this for us in big games in the second half of the season. It’s so annoying that he’s eventually going to trail off being 36 and all that and then we will be left arguing how he causes negative issues for the team.

This guy is so clutch in the CL. Does anyone think if we sack Ole and get a good manager we could do a Chelsea?
Ronaldo could carry us but we need a better coach to tactically improve us

He's bailing us out now, but I'm just afraid at the rate OLE's using him, he's going to be knackered by the end of the season where we need him to perform the most.

No doubt about it.

But, the next time we lose because of a terrible defense, he will be called "our problem"... until he saves us again. Rinse, repeat!
Well those clueless haters will be lurking around all the time anyway, even if he scores 40 goals and win us a trophy this season.

Ole will be winning the league if we hadn’t signed Ronaldo

I can see that. But, if we don’t win matches now, either in the EPL or in the UCL, then we will not have much to fight for in March-May.

If at the end of the season we are out of everything, we won't need him, so... Without his goals we'd already be out of CL.

SSSSIIIIUUU and VIVA RONALDOOOOOO!

the man he's literally a god love him.. he's the GOAT it's not even a debate for me anymore what he's doing at 36 years old is unbelievable Jeff! Give him the freedom of Manchester and his star on the Hollywood walk of fame now! Honestly I dread to think where this club would be without his clutch goals this season. NOBODY else but him scores that goal from nothing.

he embodies the spirit of Manchester United. Never give up and staying so hungry and motivated even after everything he's won and achieved in football he's done it all and more.. he's a billionaire and owns his own private jet but he hasn't lost that hunger.. great example to any young player. Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood won't get a better mentor to train with and learn from everyday. Them young lads must be going into training everyday thinking they won the lottery.

798 career goals now for the GOAT. Could he get his 800th career goal becoming the first player to score 800th career goals in a very special game against Manchester City in the Derby!? This man writes his own scripts better than any Hollywood writer could!

long may he continue to play football.. until he's 41 hopefully we get 4 years out of him and I think he's capable he's in the form of his life ageing like a fine wine actually getting better! 9 goals in 11 games (1 of which was a substitute appearance 2nd half against Everton so 9 goals in 10 starts) so virtually a goal-per-game ratio playing in the most difficult and physically demanding League in the World the Premier League at 36 years of age with not having a Pre-Season to get use to the team and vice versa. Take a bow son no words!

watch out Wayne Rooney club record that's all I'm saying! CR7 is a man on a mission.

9 goals in 11 games for us so far this season (15 goals in 14 games in all competitions). I think the fact that he did it in a disjoint team with little service is even more impressive, majority of his goals so far are winning or crucial goals for us, with some being real worldie. Absolutely the most clutch and probably the greatest player I’ve ever seen.

He and Fernandes are absolutely carrying us
Fans can be so annoying. Fernandes has carried us since he came. He moves around the pitch, trying to find the ball to create as often as possible as the rest of the players around him outside of Greenwood seem afraid of creating anything. Yet somehow, him being caught defensively due to trying to find these positions or losing the ball more often due to usually being our sole creator of chances gets him criticized and blamed for the teams woes.

Then you get to Ronaldo. Always seems under control in possession, actually supports play on the ball and has been our saviour with his outstanding finishing ability. For me, he hasn't had a single poor game since he came here. Just hasn't recieved any real service. Yet somehow, despite us playing with the laziest striker in England ( Martial), its Ronaldo's poor pressing that is responsible for our entire defence collapsing. He's also responsible for Fred, Pogba or Mctominay not seemingly able to pass, tackle or control the ball or Shaw and Maguire being off form. The media has decided to act like we didn't see these performances at the beginning of last season or the end of 18/19. Instead our fans have chosen to call Greenwood selfish despite creating plays out of nothing then chosing to shoot with the few times he has the ball in the final third. Ronaldo causing our problems despite our midfield and defence being wide open and Bruno being wasteful, despite creating every single chance we have.

Here is the deal that some people just don't understand. 1 player cannot play a pressure game, where 10 more are simply static and not pressing. We are not such a team. And actually Ronaldo is pressing and running in defense in a lot of situation.
As far as the haters saying the teams are playing for him, this couldn't be more wrong, and i will explain it why:

You build a team starting from the defense, that is obvious. Without a solid defense you are in a tons of problems. But the most important position and part is your goal scorer. No matter the name, you obviously have to build the team around him, whether is Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Mesi, Ibrahimovic, Nistelrooy or so. You need the main guy to score goals and winning points against the "weak, lower" positioning teams. If you don't have a regular scorer you aren't going to do great in the league, even if you win all the big matches.

The symbiosis between the team and the striker is the most important thing, otherwise you are going to suffer big.
I would just bring Fernando Torres, a world class striker(once), moved to Chelsea, and they didn't use him at his strength, didn't build the team around him, and the result were clear. The same could be said for Lukaku with us for example.
In order to have success you obviously need to build around the star/best players you have. That doesn't mean only they will score or play.

And every single Striker need huge helps from the players behind, otherwise he is doomed.
Whoever thinks Bayern are not synergize their team around Lewandowski couldn't be more wrong about this.

And the silliest thing to read is how a team is suffer, because the Striker is scoring, because the team is playing for him. This couldn't be more from the true as well. If a team is struggling, is definitely not because the Striker is scoring(just look how silly it's sound, just by saying it).

And if anything we are not focusing enough on Ronaldo, and should play him more.

He is equal to Michael Jordan is to basketball.

Messi is just the hipster choice at this moment.

Ronaldo is charismatic, talk big about himself and proven it for time to time. The thing he didn't do is just trash talking the opposition (that was the old days).

Ne can easily play and will play until he is 40. Not like this, of course, he is human after all (I guess), but he will still be able to contribute a lot. Hope we win another PL and go for another CL while he is still around.

Ive been quite critical of his return and still think the move has unbalanced the team.

But he was great last night, and I’m not talking about just the goals. The guy worked he chased balls he closed down he ran and not just at points when it looked like there was some glory in it. More performances like that please!

Ronaldo, best signing you lot have made since Ronaldo. God's gun. Bastard.

I love him so much, surprised at how good he actually is, he's insane.

Really need to not waste his time left here by keeping Ole.

I really think he was a ill-conceived signing. Our front 3 should be Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho, it's a young talented trio which we could build around.

But to accommodate Ronaldo, Greenwood continues to play on the right and Sancho is benched.

Ronaldo is not the reason Greenwood is playing on right. He played more than 90% of his games as RW.

The Guardian still pushing the narrative that he’s United’s biggest problem. Laughable really how much people are committed to that. It’s like we were perennial title contenders before we arrived…

An absolute master on the pitch. You just knew when he got the ball at the edge of the box that if he tried something it would come off. Even amidst this frustrating time with an inept manager it’s been a joy to see Ronaldo producing such great moments again. To do this at 36, it shows what a level above he’s always been.

The finishing of the 2 goal was just sublime and his performance is simply breath taking he's like some kind of footballing terminator that never gives in, talk about leading by example first thing i'd do is give him the armband he,s dragging this team along. GOAT.

Greenwood started the season as the CF and with the signing with Sancho the plan would have been Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho as the front 3.
I personally believe it would be more beneficial in the long term to play these 3 over a player who is 36 years of age.

Let's be honest that was because Cavani was on holiday and Martial isn't in good form.

He did well against Leeds but he's no Ronaldo or Cavani yet.

Yes, that's because Martial and Cavani were not fit.

Some goals in October and November of a season aren't going to decide who has had a better career of a debate that has been raging for 12-13 years already. It's like a parody now, Messi or Ronaldo score a few goals and it's "there's no argument, x is the GOAT!" or "that changes everything" as if that goal is the one that is going to be the one that decides it, not the 1,000 others...

The only goal that might change the debate at this point is a World Cup final winner by either player, not some group stage CL goals or a league winner which they've both been doing for more than a decade.

Normally you'd be right, like Fergie choosing Rooney and Ronaldo over Ruud.

This is no typical 36 year old though. He's the GOAT, and the best player in the team.

With all due respect, you can’t compare these players to Ronaldo.
