Yes, the petulance, the interviews where he was dismissive of certain unnamed young players and the hint of disregard of Rangknick's tactics and failing to even refer to him by name ('this coach'). I believe the leaks and behavior like that didn't do anything to disseude me.
Ah yes, the "leaks". They're definitely correct and absolutely more important than actually watching him at close quarters week in week out and seeing the support he gives to younger players on the pitch like Elanga, Sancho & Dalot throughout the game regardless of the scoreline. The supposed petulance makes much better TV & newspaper stories though I suppose and catches people like you hook line and sinker.

Excellent counter point that. I’m sure you yourself are the next Fergie.
Ok I’ll counter your point. While I’m not saying he is perfect and should be starting every game.
But you mentioned Spurs and Norwich which we won 3-2 who else scores them hat tricks ? Also scored all group games in CL (all worth points) we have worse results without him so how is he the problem.

We have much bigger problems

Weird that those young players are unnamed. Almost like that story could be made up. As for his relationship with Ragnick, Ralph said this today: '"Again, he showed against Tottenham and today's game, that he can be the difference maker, in moments like this, in games like this, and it is no coincidence he has the best goalscoring record of all players in history. He showed that again today.' Sounds like he's happy with his contribution. Could it maybe, just maybe, be that United in Sin off the caf doesn't like Ronaldo and has joined some dots that don't exist, without any proof?

Made up how? It's Ronaldo who didn't name the said young players. I'm talking about the actual interview Ronaldo himself gave in January where he criticised young players in the squad, not a tabloid story. You haven't even exibited a modicum of understanding of the situation I've brought forth in this discussion have you? I urge you to understand it before putting your two cents in.

Furthermore, why would Rangnick as professional as he is say anything negative about Ronaldo in public? He hasn't done the same with Maguire despite numerous credible claims that he's unhappy with his performances.

Back to Ronaldo, Rangknick praised him still even after his childish actions after being subbed against Brentford earlier this season and played down the whole debacle.

I made mention of Ronaldos interview from January with his scathing attack on young players in the squad. Jump the gun will you

Yeah it wasn't scathing, he compared his experience as an 18 year old playing with big players to younger players in the game now. He even referenced his own children when he said about the current generation not responding well to criticism. There was nothing wrong with that interview, it was very well received at the time and trying to rewrite to fit whatever ridiculous narrative you now want to set won't change that.

He's not been the successfull return I was hoping he'd turn out to be, but man on days like these it's like he brings out the kid in me.

Well received by who?

"If I give you advice, even if you are younger than me, if you don't implant that during your daily life, it will be difficult,"

"I can speak all day with that person, but if it's not coming from inside of you, it's impossible. I remember when I was 18, 19, 20, some older players spoke with me, but I put that as: 'Cristiano, you have to improve — they know more than you, they are more experienced than you, they passed through many bad moments.'

You give advice and players take it or leave it, you don't force it on them or say self entitled shit like 'if you don't implant that during your daily life, it will be difficult'. What if his advice doesn't work for every individual? Is he a dictator?

How's that not a scathing indictment? Which older players is Ronaldo talking about taking advice from at 18? He got into it big time with Van Nistelrooy who was the older player not happy with Ronaldo's greed on the pitch, who missed Beckham and took it out on Ronaldo to the point his actions hastened his exit as Fergie wasn't having it (coupled with the younger Saha getting game time in the league cup). Van Nistelrooy questioned whether both Rooney and Ronaldo were good enough for the club!

Remember Roy Keane's MUTV rant about young players like Fletcher and Ronaldo? He said similar things, more scathing as he mentioned names, but along the very same lines, and he even said similar things about Rio Ferdinand. Fergie ushered him out and had this to say ": "You don't criticise any Manchester United player outside the doors. I have never done and I won't."

I wonder how Fergie would've viewed this situation. Young players today don't take to criticism like that, even the senior players turned against LVG and Mourinho after their harsh criticisms, it happened to Mourinho before during his second spell at Chelsea and it happened to him at Spurs. Ronaldo was out of hand. Yes he's an iconic player but he's been a hindrance. The team will not suffer under his petulance and resistance to let go of attempting to control the dressing room

   you're ridiculous mate. If you take this as the sort of 'criticism' that's likely to negatively affect morale then I don't know what to say to you. If the youngsters in united's squad aren't willing to take on board the advice of one of the best players that has ever lived then yeah, I'd say they deserve calling out on it. Don't worry though, I'm sure he won't do much against the scousers so you can go back to beating on him then.

Dude, you don't force advice on young people and go off on a public rant about it. In what fecking world does that work in your favor? Think. I'll be glad when he's gone and he can advise young players at some other club

He's not been the successfull return I was hoping he'd turn out to be, but man on days like these it's like he brings out the kid in me.

21 goals in all competitions in a sh*t team, in a highly competitive league, at 37 years old?

You're making yourself look silly here pal. He doesn't say he forces it on people...what I got from this is that he gives advice and tries to set an example (something which presumably we'd have wanted) which is ignored. Do you, or do you not, think our youngsters have anything to learn from Ronaldo?

21 goals this season in this team is pretty successful. As successful as can be expected for what he’s got around him anyway.

As shit as we’ve been, what exactly were you expecting from him? He’s amazingly got 21 goals this season (could finish with more). I know he’s GOAT but he’s not a miracle worker..

Looking silly? If that's your opinion so be it. The youngsters can of course learn a lot from Ronaldo but he can't force advice on them and bitch about it like the control freak he is if he feels they don't take it. Do you agree that advice is meant to be taken or left? Do you think it should be forced? Only overly narcissistic individuals would do that in my opinion. Again Van Nistelrooy tried to force his will on a young Ronaldo and it backfired

Listen to yourself. What did he say to give the impression that he's forcing advice on people? "I can speak all day with that person, but if it's not coming from inside of you, it's impossible" sounds to me like he's acknowledged the fact that if the youngsters don't want to listen then they won't. Ronaldo was surely brought in in large part to instil some of his winning mentality and to be an example for the youngsters. You seem to be suggesting that his influence isn't welcome, which is weird. If you don't like Ronaldo that's fine - there's a lot that I don't like about him either - but your arguments make no sense.

You know absolute nothing about football now feck off.

I have some... spare time today. Is it okay to post some pics for some analysis of his game today? Hope it's not to spammy, hope the pics aren't big and hope you guys can read the orange text within pics. Would like to expand on each play but I can't spend 2 hours posting...

Figured I'd do something I wish I could do every game, but very little time lately. Some things are timeless and his awareness, off the ball movement, reading of the game, timing, ability to understand ball physics, to understand body positioning from his teammates is just extraordinary, and it's only getting better with age. There's so many strikers out there that are good at this stuff, but his level on these aspects is just unlike anything I've ever seen and I'm trying to bring awareness to more people to pay a closer look at the things Ronaldo does throughout any given match.

Wish I had some gifs or better quality images, unfortunately the direct feed on my PC from my local broadcast turns out black images on any recording I try to do or pic I try to take. I'll leave the 4 plays I remember down below taken from an internet highlights video.

If you can't read the text (seems a bit tiny maybe? sorry), just open in new tab and zoom in.

Hopefully this will be a nice way to show his qualities at this age still, but also a way for people who watch him less to understand what he tries to do every game. Sorry for the orange/small text! If it's appreciated by you guys I might do more as they come by each game.

very good and detailed post mate. Well done

Deliberately ignoring the part that came before your qoute:

"If I give you advice, even if you are younger than me, if you don't implant that during your daily life, it will be difficult,"

Let's just agree to disagree and you can enjoy your love in with the petulant narcissist without me ruining it

Firstly, you're taking that quotation far too literally, if I remember correctly he started by saying something like "the older players can always help the younger players, but let me give you an example...." He is basically saying that the experienced players can give out all the advice in the world but in reality it comes down to the individual to act upon it, his way was to listen to the advice for the reasons in the quote but he's aware that's not always the case with the younger generation and he gave the example of his kids always wanting to do the opposite to what he tells them. Second, he's one of the best players in the history of the game, if he's giving advice to the younger players and they aren't hanging on to every word then frankly they need their heads examining.

Regarding Roy Keane's interview, you're just completely making shit up now. He said nothing at all about Ronaldo, he even went so far as to say the experienced players were letting the younger ones down by not leading them.

What a proper oddball.

Inappropriate Behavior
I wont even debate with a person who has supposedly watched United this season and come to the conclusion that Ronaldo is our biggest problem, you're simply wrong there's nothing else to say.
It’s a good job I didn’t say that then isn’t it you absolute fecking plank. Maybe learn to read instead of abusing people unprovoked because they criticised your favourite celebrity. fecking man-child.

So, Daily Mail's writing that Ronaldo's contract includes a £750,000 bonus for reaching 20 goals plus a further £100,000 for his hat-trick strike.

So he's earned £850,000 scoring three against Norwich.

He'll also receive £100,000 for each additional goal he scores this season.

United will also pay their top scorer this season £1m and Ronaldo seems almost certain to achieve that accolade given that he is 12 goals ahead of his closest challenger Bruno Fernandes.

He's not been the successfull return I was hoping he'd turn out to be, but man on days like these it's like he brings out the kid in me.
I honestly don't think even Lewandoski or Haaland could do any better for this team. We are a disjointed team and struggling with any coherent teamplay throughout the season.

80% of his career hattricks were scored in La Liga (when he spent 40% of his career there).

If that doesn't prove it's a joke of a league...

You're the one whining about Ronaldo on a saturday night just after he's scored a winning hattrick. Who's the man child really?

50th club hat trick and all of a sudden the kid who now has a hook for a hand and can't use the buttons on his 3210 is suddenly forgotten about.

The man is a genius.

What the heck is wrong with learning from someone who has been there and done it. I am doing a statistics degree. Am I a rude prick and say to an experienced statistician to go away I don't need to learn anything about how to be a statistician. Horrible take on life man.

What Ronaldo is doing... Hes whole career.

Noone can touch it.

How mad are you you fecking sad cnut

The guy just scored a hat trick he’s our top scorer by a million miles and you’re on here moaning and have the nerve to call out others, you’re an absolute weapon.

I came into this thread expecting some positivity, to join my fellow United fans in hailing the greatest footballer to ever live. Instead, there’s bickering and people still finding ways to criticise the 37 year old who was loyal enough to choose us over City and has already scored 21 goals, single-handedly pulling us out the mire in at least 8 games in the process. Many are also borderline abusing posters who rightfully disagree.

Clearly, Ronaldo has haters for whatever reason that he’ll never shake. Strange, strange bunch.

I agree that there are some very weird people here.
Some people need to basically grow up  . I personally love learning from people who have been there and done it. You don't get very far in life without people's advice/help who have been there and done it.

RVN said something derogatory to Ronaldo about Quiroz and his father just as Ronaldo's father had passed away. That was the reason and not him trying to bully him. Ronaldo was spot on. Now if Keane was still in the club he would have absolutely torn these players apart. Now some idiot is going to tell me that Keane should never been Captain at United.

37 years old and still by far Manchester United’s best player

Dont buy the bollocks that EtH would want him to leave. He’ll want to work with him and get a 30 goal season out of him
