It would be nice to have senior players that wanted to be around the club for a derby game to give a bit of moral support and encouragement to team mates .

Plays while carrying an injury for the last 3 months, because the team needs him and we have no alternatives.
Trains like a demon and trys to raise the standards.
Constantly gives advice to the younger players on and off the pitch and shows leadership that is sorely lacking in the squad.
Give him the Nobel Prize! What a guy.
I have seen him regularly shaking his head on the pitch and leaving the country rather than support the team, but he probably flew to Portugal to rescue some trapped animals or something.
You obviously don't go to games and are a supporter via the telly only.

Idiot fans want him gone.
I would extend his contract for a year to make up for wasting his time time this season.
Benzema showed last night in Madrid what a real world class talisman striker should conduct himself on the pitch. A player not only raising his own game instead of sulking but encouraging all team mates around him. Vinicius Junior final product wasn't always last night there as his passes wasn't always connecting with Benzema and was sometimes running into blind alleys but not once did you see Benzema scowl towards him or throw his hands up in a hissy fit when things were not going their way in the first half after going down
Together they worked even harder and kept their heads up in belief along with modric and Benzema galvanising the troops. When Camavinga came on neither did he come on with a strop just because he didn't start, instead he changed the game and imposed himself in the game and got control of midfield.
What we get with Ronaldo who he and others sees as captain is strops, tantrums and only consulting with his national compatriot Bruno Fernandes as if they are both above the rest of the team. If he happens to come off the bench he's puts in an even worse performance. Had he played against City and when we went down he would throwing his hands up in the air, going into midfield ruining the shape to try and get the ball, scowling at teammates before biding his time so he could strop off straight down the tunnel at the end of the game to show his disdain for the away fans.
I have only seen this guy save the team for his own gain not for the teams. I will never forget at the bernabeau when he was at Madrid and Bale scored instead of himself and he refused to run over and celebrate with him, instead he sulked.
So it's not a suprise in our biggest derby he goes over manager protocol of having rehab at the club and swans off to portugal for his hip replacement. The players are right in this instance, he should have been with the team but we know Ronaldo is only concerned with no 1 and still believes he's top dog and everything should revolve around him even though his body is now as stiff and rigid as an ironing board to the point where he can no longer compete at elite level consistently.
It’s clear you probably only watch Madrid once a year and that was probably games like yesterday. Benzema yells at Vinicius and has thrown tantrums at his teammates in a lot of games this very season too. This is the same Benzema that whispered to another teammate that he shouldn’t pass to Vinicius because “on his mother’s life” he’s playing against them. And his teammates are generally far far better than Ronaldo’s.Benzema showed last night in Madrid what a real world class talisman striker should conduct himself on the pitch. Benzema is phenomenal right now and really rose to the occasion yesterday (I actually really enjoy the guy) but using that as a stick to beat Ronaldo with is really really small time.
Exactly. And he’s talking about the same Ronaldo who even helped Benzema when he was going through possibly the worst form of his career and being booed by the Bernbeau. Was about the say the same thing - Benzema isn't the best example! There are also plenty of times where Ronaldo has encouraged team mates - i.e Elanga missed pen.

I'm not one to criticize other's posts because I really don't care, but you're heavily talking out of your ass here.Benzema showed last night in Madrid what a real world class talisman striker should conduct himself on the pitch. I wonder how much football these guys actually watch. Seems like they just log into redcafe and post whatever tripe comes to their mind.
He was injured and so allowed time off, but they give the players the freedom to do whatever they like during their time off.So he was injured, they knew he was injured, but they didn't know he went to Portugal?
I mean, it's not entirely wrong though is it? I'm sure like anyone Ralf has extreme respect for Ronaldo's achievements in the game but he's 37 and you can tell on the pitch he looks leggy and not the force he once was, he's scored some goals and kept us in the CL this season but he's also missed plenty of chances, sulked alot, and some might argue hindered our overall play (debateable). Point is we really do need a new, younger figurehead in our attack, Ronaldo has shown he cannot sustain it, it's sad but he's just at that age nowAnd this is how the Samuel L. guy gets a few clicks here and there.
What is sad is that almost all fans reading that will not take it with a pinch of salt.
Yeah man, I agree. I was just talking about the Samuel guy, not about the actual topic of the conversation.I mean, it's not entirely wrong though is it? That's so petty from both of you.No, I get to read the Ronaldo Diary left on your seat at Old Trafford too which tells you what he does in training and the conversations he has with other players.
But..but..Fergie said we should always play our best players

I suggest you watch this ''Christiano Ronaldo's VERY selfish moments 2018'' on youtube where he was at Madrid and getting angry at teammates for scoring over him, trying to steal other player's goals, calling offside for other players goals all because he wanted to stat pad to get one over on Messi every season
Difference is Ronaldo was at his peak then so he got away with being a selfish greedy player because his performances were out of this world and could somewhat tolerate his antics however distasteful it was to watch him refuse to celebrate other teammates goals or try to snatch goals from them. Now he's 37 years old and he plays like he's got solid steel metal rods attached to his legs he's still hasn't to be less selfish and accept that he's on the decline and that this is a team game.
Even at his last club there were reports of him disrupting Juve's dressing room code of conduct and having the team revolve around getting the ball to him and the club felt more empowered after he left even after he left them last minute in the lurch because he had no loyalty to Juve and wasn't willing to help them another season while they were not challenging for top honours and I can see he'll do the same with United if we don't finish top 4.
'' Ronaldo went against Juventus' traditional dressing room conduct during his time at the club.''
''It's claimed there are unwritten rules of 'equality, unity and humility', something Ronaldo allegedly did not abide by, according to the Turin-based newspaper.
Leonardo Bonucci, who shared the dressing room with Ronaldo, recently conceded that Juventus are now a more well-rounded team following the United icon's departure.
The veteran said: "Do we play more as a team? It is absolutely true. In the recent past we had lost this characteristic from Juve, we were playing with a great champion like Ronaldo and we wanted to put him in a position to always do well, thinking he could solve all the games. This year we are rediscovering that right humility that is needed to regain victory."
While Tuttosport note that Ronaldo's influence in attack cannot be questioned, it's suggested that the team were more fragile when he was in the team, due to his lack of desire to defend and track back.''

Sound familar?
Listen if you guys want to bury your heads in the sand and pretend Ronaldo is still prime and he's been a great leader and great influence, that's on your shoulders. Undermining the national coach and pretending to be manager in a world cup game isn't a great example to show how much a martyr he is. It just shows another example of Ronaldo behaving like he is bigger than those in charge.
I see a pattern here and this guy is strutting around the club as if he's still prime 24 year old ronaldo who calls the shots on when he plays, how the team should revolve around him and how everyone should listen to him, when he's not even leading by example through his own performances.
If Ronaldo came in and accepted where's he is at like Cavani, who keeps his head down and doesn't have a big drama show if hes not playing and subbed and managed his recovery better as he knows he's not young anymore, I'd have no issues with his position in the team. However the fact that he wants to throw a tantrum every time he gets subbed or dropped isn't what we need right now. A 37 year old who expects to play every game without exception isn't going to bring us back the good old fergie days of a treble challenging side. We need to move on from Ronaldo if we are to progress forward as a club
I hope rumors about him pushing a move to PSG if united fail to finish in the top four are true. I can imagine him showing his frustration at Messi everytime he passes the ball to someone else! I really can't see those two playing together, but it's his last realistic option if he wants to stay at the 'top'
Don't think he would fancy the idea of playing amateur football in the MLS while Messi still playing the UCL with PSG.
I can see him waiting until Messi leaves Europe to move to MLS.
I think this is underestimating MLS too much. MLS is not amateur football, I mean it would of course be much more easier but it is still professional football.
Second, I don't know why Messi playing in the UCL is a factor, Ronaldo is just not up to the highest level anymore and that is the fact he has to face.
Still our top goalscorer though, and one of the most impactful player in CL this season, which means majority of our squad are not up to highest level anymore too, which I am not going to argue much against anyway, as I am expecting a summer clear out of at least 10-17 players this summer.I think this is underestimating MLS too much. Imagine the current Messi Ronaldo and Neymar in one team. Absolutely nobody running for one another, all 3 of them past their best days in terms of creating that extra yard too. Would be fun to watch in big CL matchesThere's been almost nothing I've wanted more than to see Ronnie and United win once again together, but hey, I'd love to see them together even at this age. Ronaldo would moan at Messi, and Messi would moan at him. Ronaldo's drive and his cravings for winning would at least do something to try and turn Messi from a ghost into looking like somebody who cares, and in return Messi would have the status to tell Cristiano to shut up every once in a while. I think they'd work it out

Nani was exceptional at Orlando in the early parts of each season but always ran out of steam as the year went on, so so to say he was "nothing special" is incredibly unfair.This. The MLS is not a cake walk. Gerrard was in decent shape when he signed for Galaxy and he struggled against younger players in this league.
Nani has had his struggles at Orlando and looks nothing special either. Hugain similary has been nothing special either at Inter Miami. Ronaldo is finished and the sooner he realizes this the better because it's going to end up being embarrassing for him
