He's never gonna offer zero on the build up side, despite what some people say here. Team chemistry would also help but he's new to the group and it takes time for teammates to learn how to play on certain situations - I think he's very underrated at this point of his career about his one touch passing, creativity, ability to drive play forward and put a ball into space with his back against the goal. He has a lot of little flicks I've mentioned here before and have been compiled very well on that video, that's why he's also a big counter attack threat in my view. You guys certainly remember that chest pass a month ago that lead up to a goal, or the 3-2 goal a couple weeks where he smoothly flicks it to Elanga (I think it was Elanga that received it?). But that kind of ability also needs teammates to have certain routines about them. It's always good to attack space when Ronaldo receives a ball against the goal, specially as he's gonna drag at least one, or maybe even 2 defenders, to put pressure on him, and best thing is for a teammate to make himself available right as the ball comes to him so he can flick it quickly into space. Specially as he just isn't as strong anymore holding the ball 5, 10 seconds with his back against the goal and with defenders pressuring.
