He's no Bilal Ilyas Jhandir
From 203/2 in 38 overs to 250 all out. Shambolic.
I think Root has the potential to be one of England's best ever batsmen, he can dig in and he can bat quickly too, he needs to bat at this pace more often I feel. He's also got a bit of a golden arm.
Certainly wouldn't surprise me. Just turned 24 and already has 6 test centuries with a 50+ average, and as you say, seems to be more versatile than someone like Cook/Trott in terms of building up speed if need be.
Lovely to watch him play.
Joe Root is class. Hope his back problems aren't chronic.
Root is in great form. England will need him vs NZ and Australia. Besides his batting is entertaining and when in good nick, he scores fast unlike many England batsmen around currently.
we invented cricket to last 5 days and 5 days it should last. all you fancy dans with your strike rates over 36. if it's physically possible to watch and not fall asleep 10 minutes before lunch then it's not proper batting.

Ballance can drive someone to sleep any time of the day. Accumulates lots of runs though.
RIP Pakistan Cricket 1952-2015
When was the last time England won a Test away from home?
How many overs do we have to chase it down, for Trott to score 50 and England to win they need a lot of oversClass from us... When's the last time we were able to say that? Now, another 50+ for Cook & Trott would be bloody amazing!
