Cricket

Very pessimistic. You won’t win but you can survive it. You bat very deep
as a fan I always think we will get a result but Nathan Lyon is a fantastic bowler at closing games out. Just switched on to watch.

Rohit?

Yeah I think he'll be gone after today or maybe after the series. I could see Kohli clinging on for a while to be honest.
Yes. I think he will be gone. Other than this series he’s been a team first sort of guy. Just don’t see how Virat or Rohit can justify their presence to themself.

Kohli will be given one more series, which is against England. He fails that as well and he is gone. A great player who has been average in test for long now.

Why do they keep saying highest attended, sold out etc but I see large swathes of the stadium empty?

Would be curious to see if India ever go for this target. If they need 180 off 30 overs and these two are still in the crease then maybe yes

Think the draw is on @jungledrums

Especially given these 2 plus the 3 to come are some of our better batters
Yep agree. Lot of cricket still to play but I’m not sure I back Aus to bowl India out.

If these two stay in for another 10 overs… surely they’ll be looking at chasing this down.

Labuschagne bowling an over of horrific bouncers. Such negative tactics from Cummins. Ponting would have set aggressive fields and pursued the win at all costs

How is it on Rishabh and not the embarrrassing performances from Kohli, Rohit and KL? They got next to nothing from those 3.

they are shit and can't help being shit

Rishabh is not shit and can avoid being shit

Hitting to deep mid wicket after having played a session out comfortably was not needed. We werent going to win this game ever.

Scott Boland is such a terrific player to be able to call off the bench

Jaiswal is India's best batter since Sachin

Not seen many mentions of how he played < 20 first class games before he made his debut for India. Incredibly all round game for a guy who has barely played red ball cricket

Most Indian top order batters have heaps of runs in the domestic game before making their debut

He’s unreal. Pleasure to watch.

Could do with some catching practice though…

what's your prediction?

I think we will nick a draw out of this..
Wow! After that, I think Aus edge it now.

Do you think that was out? I understand Jaiswal disputing that. But looked to clearly deviate from bat. Still, no mark on snicko…

It was out for sure. Snicko was being a bit funny. Not sure it hit the glove as the third umpire said but it deflected off the top edge

Wtf is wrong with Sundar he should be seeing most of the ball and protecting the tail?

I felt like he’d agreed with the non striker who they were more comfortable playing. There was a chance to take a 3 with akash deep and they ran 2.

Otherwise yes that was weird

He was handling Lyon quite well, I think and now it's game over. He should have protected the tail but when 3 of your senior batters go out for less than 15 it's not on him. Should have read the situation better.

Very stupid shot by Pant that. I hope he had some license from the dressing room to go for it after tea which would justify it a bit. Sundar also kind of lost the plot with the last 2 wickets at least. Taking single off the 5th ball to have Siraj face a full over from Lyon was bizarre.

Nah I think it’s just the way Pant plays. Can’t see India thinking they would chase down the total being 112-3 at Tea. In the current situation he should have played more conservatively.

He curbed his natural game in the second session. This was a clear trap if he was not going for the target then it was a bad shot no matter how you play.
