Ripper. What a ball
It’s one of those situations where 300 lead bowled out might be a good thing for Australia. They might’ve not declared at that point otherwise and left a draw on the table. If Marsh survives to the fifth test that’s fecking remarkable. India are actually in front now. Unreal
Australia is not getting to 300!It’s one of those situations where 300 lead bowled out might be a good thing for Australia. They might’ve not declared at that point otherwise and left a draw on the table.
300 requires some effort here though
May have to bat a bit himself tooagain. He’s gonna bowl us to victory maybe?
TrueMay have to bat a bit himself too
It's unlikely that we chase whatever the target ends up being.. but one can dreamInteresting. 231 is the highest ever total chased at the MCG in the fourth.
He's welcome to score a century and make amendsAdvance Aussies again. Yaiswals drop when the score was 99 has turned momentum and will prolly haunt him.

Not sure where his confidence will be after dropping 3 in one day. He's welcome to score a century and make amends
Chasing 275 in the 4th innings isn’t easy for any team, never mind this Indian side that is capable of its top order collapsing any time for just a few runs.I really don’t agree. Aus need 280 and then it’s a coin toss I’d say.
Agree it’s not easy, but these drop in pitches don’t really deteriorate into the fifth day. I thought earlier the pitch looked tough to bat on but Aus just batted like shit. I really think 280 is gettable.Chasing 275 in the 4th innings isn’t easy for any team, never mind this Indian side that is capable of its top order collapsing any time for just a few runs.
Perhaps if he took any of those singles, Lyon would have been bowled immediately after. Did he avoid singles with Starc too? I can’t recallIf India lose it will be cause of the drop catches today. If Australia lose it ll be cause of these singles that they didn’t take once Cummins came to bat. I think they’ve given up at least 20-30 runs.
I understand if you did with Starc and Lyon at the other end but I think Cummins is capable of surviving a few deliveries from Bumrah so I didn’t understand when Marnus was doing it.Perhaps if he took any of those singles, Lyon would have been bowled immediately after. Oh sorry I misunderstood your point. Yeah I agree with you, Cummins is good enough. They should be taking singles now by the way - it’s too tight.I understand if you did with Starc and Lyon at the other end but I think Cummins is capable of surviving a few deliveries from Bumrah so I didn’t understand when Marnus was doing it.
How many overs left in the day?Don’t think Aus can lose from here. Why not start slogging?
I think the commentators mentioned India now do not have to bat even if a wicket falls nowHow many overs left in the day?
Phew that’s good. Silver lining I guess to not bowling them out quick.I think the commentators mentioned India now do not have to bat even if a wicket falls now
Australia really hate losing, I wish England could match that mentality sometimes
Actually thought this was a bit unusual for them to bat as long as they did. Prior teams would've either upped the scoring earlier with a view to bowling 15 overs, or declared with about 300 on the board.
Today is the safest I've seen an Australian captain play.
Also worth highlighting that if Aus lose this match, we lose the series. India are holders of the trophy. They are clearly worried about likes of Jaiswal, Pant and Reddy; all of whom bat with a high SR.
