Cricket

I love this England ODI side. Even when they play badly they do it in a fantastically entertaining way.

Strange how relaxed of an approach some England fans I have seen take over this poor performance so far today.

We need to guard against complacency. It's no good winning all of our World Cup games up to the Final then getting spanked in that. We will be remembered as the team that chokes - look back to the T20 Final vs. West Indies and the Champions Trophy match vs. Pakistan.

Wins build confidence and I don't agree that today doesn't matter because England have already won the series. Go out and win every match you play and that will strike fear in to your opponents.

I think Kohli might break the test runs in a calendar year record this year. He's got enough matches and he scored a bucket load the last time he played in Australia.

Needs ~500 runs for Indian record and ~700 runs for overall record, with only 3 tests left.

He could probably break the calendar record for all formats combined though - needs 600 more runs. 3 ODIs vs WI, 3 T20s vs WI, 3 T20s vs Aus, 3 ODIs vs Aus and 3 Tests vs Aus scheduled for rest of the year I think, assuming he's not going to skip any.

Even for Kohli 11 innings to go from 9k runs to 10k runs is obscene.
Broke his own record of 15 innings (joint with Amla). Would be interesting to see his stats since he became captain. He's always reminded me a lot of Ricky Ponting

Meanwhile Pakistan and Australia are desperately trying to outdo each other in terms of shitness.

Assuming they don’t actually chase this down, Australia will get the moral victory.

We're lucky the series will still be 1-1 after this. Should have lost the previous one too :wenger:

India's persistent with Dhoni after 2015 and complete negligence to develop an actual lower/middle order will cost them a chance at winning the world cup. This team is Kohli + 1 of the two openers or bust.

It's already cost them a t20 world cup.

Yup, fully agreed. Hence the suddens efforts to fast track the likes of Pant. Pandya alleviates this problem a little bit, but still work to be done.

Always thought dhoni was the team before self type, unlike many Indian players before him.

We need Jadeja, too. The batting line up is too short without him or Ashwin. I dont rate Chahal that high so I reckon he should be dropped.

Dhoni would still get into the ODI side for his keeping skills alone. His batting's been on the wane since 2015 and coupled with decline of Yuvraj and Raina, middleorder became a big problem for India. It's time to start treating him as all other previous Indian keepers (Mongia, Dahiya, Ratra, Karim, Patel, Dighe, etc) and do not expect any batting contribution. India took Dravid as their keeper for 2003 WC as all their other options were useless back then. Such is their history pre-Dhoni

Bumrah, Khaleel and Chahal don't know which end of the bat to hold. Shami and Umesh slog at everything they see. Kuldeep, Bhuvi and Jadeja aren't good enough for more than 40 runs combined at run-a-ball (that too with great difficulty). Pandya and Pant are wild cards, never know what you're gonna get with them. This is why India have a major problem if their top 3 don't contribute. With their lack of 6th bowler option, they'll concede a lot of runs even if one main bowler has a bad day.

Babar's form in recent T20s is excellent. Another good win & bowling performance.

Really good game, Pakistan just holding on for the win.

Amazing from Pakistan
Are they that good in T20 or the other teams have dipped a level ?

Excellent chase, 11 consecutive series wins in T20s

I just realised that Herath is due to play his last test this week. England actually have a wonderful chance of winning this test series. Was hoping Herath would rip them a new one.

Legend :(

At this point being a WI fan should be classified as a form of masochism. Braithwaite should not even be in the team, far more for being the captain. Only good thing he’s ever done in any form of cricket was that over against Stokes.

Who knew he would get this much respect in the game.
Actually, I know km says it half ironically after picking him in the draft that one time, but he was always a good bowler. I remember the first time he played against India, with the carrom ball or whatever he calls it, looked very good. Has had a great career.
