Can't believe they agreed to play here given the conditions.
It's a gas chamber.

Feels more like a slow death than survival. Not sure how the Delhi blokes survive. It’s crap there now.

Haha. Need to leave this place though. The other day I made the mistake of going out for 5 minutes to talk on the phone and lost my voice.Yeah but let’s not blame the weather for that
I’m guessing it’s windy like hell in HP this time of the year. Going to be worse later on.
Doesn’t excuse the fact that we still need MS to bail us out.
Why do they play up north so late in the year? Doesnt make any sense.
Think it’s about quotas. Each State has a game that it needs to be given. They try allotting such useless games to obscure places like kochi, guwahati and all do that the big series can have games in the better stadiums like wankhede and bengaluru and all
Ricky ponting has to be the best fielder ever right? Better than Jonty Rhodes for me

Pitch can be wet, despite it not raining! No. Match will be called off due to rain then
Going back a few years, two of the best fielders I remember growing up were Colin Bland and Clive Lloyd. Both are often forgotten when prowess in the field is being considered. Derek Randall was another good one.Ricky ponting has to be the best fielder ever right? Better than Jonty Rhodes for me
That’s what you get if you literally never play (a competitive opposition) outside India. After the tour to Australia in late 2014, India has only visited West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and have played every test nation, including the 3 mentioned before, at home.Kohli scored his first double hindered in July 2016, now he has scored 6. Incredible consistency.

Could’ve easily played South Africa and New Zealand away to be honest. Even though Kohli is well on his way to becoming one of the greatest ever batsmen (at least in ODIs), i still take the current stats with a pinch of salt.Hardly there fault. I think outside of Asia only Australia & England have any appetite/capability of big long tours, but there's only so many times India can play them. 2 out of the 4 slots are always taken up by an Ashes series, and India hosted both of them in 2016/17.

(Slightly digressing here...) I don’t even get why they have to play so many tests here in India, there is literally zero enthusiasm and interest shown by the general public to watch those games in the stadiums. The least the BCCI can do is look into the matter of making test matches in India a more fun experience for viewers of all ages.

And not just his stats but those of others like KL Rahul and Pujara - who plain and simply are not among the Top 10 test batsmen in the world but they are on that list because of the crazy amount of runs they’ve amassed in this period.
Some of them are infact flat, but not outright dead. A turning pitch aids Indian batsmen more than it hurts them- this might be one of the most overused lines in Cricket but it is true. Not sure what you're getting at? Pitches in England and Australia are flat as feck. Forgot the last time Kohli was in Australia?
In fact, in all these recent home series', most of the pitches have made to turn a lot, anyway.
You should probably check how many runs/centuries he’s made outside the Indian subcontinent. Not trying to impose my opinion here, but i just don’t see anything special in him. I’d rather see players like Iyer and Pant (albeit too early for him now) being given a chance. Why have you included Pujara? Hes definitely in the top 5. Right after Kohli, Smith, Williamson and Root.

I do remember what happened the last time in Australia. But I’d bet top dollar on him not replicating the kind of scores he has in the last two years. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an amazing player - out of the current lot him and Smith are on a completely different level, but i just would like to see India play abroad more.

Whilst Indian pitches aid the spinners, who do the pitches in Aus, Eng and, even, NZ aid? I remember when Perth used to be like heaven for the faat bowlers. Nowadays, its no different to Sydney, Adelaide or the MCG. Same can be said of Lords, The Oval, Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and the rest.
As for the point on Pujara, Ill have to check his stats. He was good in SA, NZ but cant remember the others.
Pujara averages
33 in Aus
22 in Eng
15 in NZ
44 in SA
62 in Ind
90 in SL
Most pitches abroad (Australia, SA, NZ, England) at least have truer bounce, which give the pace bowlers something extra to exploit and it definitely adds more lethality to other important aspects like off-the-seam movement, swing, natural variations and help from the pitch itself. Not to mention that the bounce helps the spinners as well.Whilst Indian pitches aid the spinners, who do the pitches in Aus, Eng and, even, NZ aid? Thanks. Looks bleak but hes improved a lot since those tours. The next year or so will be a telling time for a lot of our batsmen.
How have India played so many home games over the past 18 months? Its like 4 different series' all at home. Do they have a long abroad schedule coming up?
