Cricket

Steve Smith may nit be having kids anytime soon after getting hit flush right where it hurts. Hope he was wearing his box.

When do Australia have an away ODI series next? Want to know if they're flat track bullies or capable of getting 300+ regularly away from home.
There's a return Chappell Hadlee series in New Zealand early next year. I'd back Australia to win that.

Marsh is so much fun to watch when he gets going 378/5 not bad, we should be able to defend that, I hope....

Not sure mate. They couldn't beat Sri Lanka away, which is like one of the weakest teams in the world right now.

When push comes to shove, I'm not convinced by New Zealand. They'll beat sides they should beat but against the better sides, I'm not sure about them. World Cup final 2015, the home test series against Australia both occasions where they've left a lot to be desired against Australia.

Fair enough. That WC final was a massive let-down yes.

AUS have won the Chappell Hadlee series and my 3-0 prediction is looking good i think. Last game in Melbourne is Friday. Will be very pleasantly surprised if the MCG is half full.

New Zealand need 265 to win the final Chappell Hadlee match. Very chaseable in this day and age. 18 extras though is far too many. Australia would love nothing more than to give the nice guys of cricket a 3-0 series hiding.

Elsewhere CA XI and Pakistan playing a low scoring affair.
CA XI is as far from Australia's first team as Australia is geographically from Pakistan. It's a shame that even they managed to bowl out Pakistan for 200-odd in the day. Pakistan got four wickets for three runs yesterday with the pink ball under lights. Pakistan's batting is a joke.

7- No. of 100s for Warner in ODIs this year - the joint second-most by any batsman. Only Tendulkar (9 in 1998) had more; Ganguly also made 7 in 2000.

Also Smithy took the last catch ....

Big series win for Australia considering the struggles of recent months. Over the last two years, the nice guys of cricket (New Zealand) have played 13 games against Australia 5 tests and 8 ODI matches for just 3 wins, 1 draw and 9 losses. They receive much goodwill but against Australia, a team that doesn't worry about being the nice guys, they're seriously found wanting and this isn't a truly great Australian side. Very beatable if you're good enough and this New Zealand isn't. I'm dissapointed by them because i have been expecting much more from them over the last two years against Australia and it simply hasn't happened.

In ODIs? Nah. The Aussies are a formidable unit and especially so at home. The only recent loss they've had was when they took a 4th choice bowling attack to South Africa.

In fact, New Zealand are about the only team that can boost to having won a series against something resembling a full strength Aussie side in ODIs in about 2 years.

New Zealand are just not the same without McCullum and Taylor though.

Warner is one of the cleanest strikers of the ball in a long time.

I remember when he burst onto the scene opening in a 20/20 match and smashed them all around the park, it was some display. He was destined to become a great bat if he worked on the defensive side of this game, he already had the kind of eye you just can't coach into someone.

AB De Villiers stepped down as South African captain to be replaced by Faf Du Plessis. I think that's sweet news for Faf Du Plessis.

Reckon the Pakistani batsmen will struggle, but this Aussie team isn't as good as the great teams of yesteryear & if we have a decent session or 2, you never know.

Won't get to watch much of the game/highlights as I don't have BT Sport (feck you BT) but will be interesting how both sides do against the pink ball.

Nice to see the ABC giving a female an opportunity to do ball by ball commentary during this series. Alison Mitchell, good last name and I enjoyed her commentary during the Adelaide test last year for the ABC.

Australia batting first having won the toss on a warm day in Brisvegas aka Brisbane.

Matt Renshaw is a big unit.

Good batting so far though
Really impressive in first class cricket for Queensland, born in England too :O

But he's only 185cm, he is young though at just 20, so happy we are giving young players a go again.

Dominant from Australia.

We really could use an all-rounder to help the bowlers.

Glad to see Amir not ruled out by what looked like a bad fall. Hoping Handscomb kicks on for his maiden ton. Also I have a rather irrational dislike of Nic Maddinson and hope he fails again.

Amazing scorecard:lol:

Pakistan have no chance of saving this match. Predicting an epic collapse under lights.
