We'd end up 2nd to City. They should use xG to settle the league. Now that would cause a shitstorm I'd like to see.
What is the difference between weighted and unweighted PPG

It’s not like your CV/job analogy at all, that’s an awful take.
I forgot that footballers were robots and shouldn’t have feelings about their families and friends.
Ok thanks. What is this? Much like points per game, except this format takes into account each team's home and away form to provide an average for each, which is multiplied across a 38-game season.
How is it calculated? You divide points by the number of games played for home and away form separately. Multiply each number by 19 and add them together to create a total points tally. So Aston Villa's home form is 1.307×19=24.86. Their away form is 0.533×19=10.13. That gives them a WPPG tally for the season of 34.979.
Ok thanks.
I thought weighted would involve points taken from top 6 teams or something of that sort.
So just a simple Home and Away thing. That sucks for us given we are 9th or worse in the Away table.

So it's clear Liverpool will be champions seeing how leagues are being concluded.Just hope we get a real shot at 4th.

Thanks for the explanation. If PPG were to be used as a metric, then this makes far more sense than just using total number of games alone, as home and away are important factors.
If Project Restart fails to get going we can expect Karen Brady to start a Twitter campaign saying that weighted PPG shouldn't be used. This despite the fact that West Ham are one of the bottom six who supposedly pushed hardest against neutral venues.
In other words if the season restarts home advantage is massively important but if it doesn't restart your home record should not be viewed differently than your away record.
Just face facts the PL is returning.R rate is going up in the UK...if it doesn't drop in the next 2 weeks there is no way we will see a return
But is that a bad thing? It's unlikely there is going to be a vaccine in the next year. What happens with their neighbours next winter? The virus isn't simply just going to go away. It's way too early to be critical of Sweden's strategy based on the death rate during the first wave. In a year or two from now, things might and very possibly will, look very different. There is every chance, that as long as your health system hasn't been swamped, to the extent that care is rationed based on age etc, that the countries with the most infections per capita, have actually done the best. And I know that's not what a lot of people want to hear as it's become so political. But without a vaccine, would you rather be in Sweden or Denmark next winter?
This is why I really think we should use football as an example of how to go forward and start playing again with, crowds and without social distancing. I think the key is to limit the participants and fans, based on age and health status. If we'd left our schools open, there is a good chance 75% of our kids would be immune, the same is true for Uni's. Pubs, football stadium, restaurants, schools etc, all need to open up and as many young, healthy, people as possible need to be exposed to the virus. The data shows us the NHS should be able to cope over the summer and the benefits, come the winter, will be dramatic. Football clubs and footballers should lead the way, by campaigning to restart, in front as large of crowds as logistically possible. Social distancing of more vulnerable should remain as strict or even stricter. Of course the logistics will be challenging, but at least we'll know it's for a purpose and a move in the right direction. The absurd strategy to get playing again BCD, does nothing but shield people in the hope a vaccine comes along.
Strategy in Sweden is not what some of you people think is. It is same as as lot of countries in western Europe. It is about not getting NHS overcrowded. The big difference is that Sweden is trying to achive that by trusting its people to follow recommendations instead of having 100% lockdown. The post I was responding to was inferring their strategy worked because the death rate there is lower than in the UK, and I disagree with that reasoning. There are way too many other factors in play.
The strategy, in the UK at least, is to minimise the spread so that our health system can cope. If the UK followed Sweden's strategy it would be an enormous risk.
Without a vaccine I'd rather be in Denmark, for sure.
I think UK did the same for a short period of time before they changed the way. On other hand I understand. It's 50+m people i UK while Sweden have 10m. I don't know any other country right now that had recommendations instead of rules as Sweden. And I think it is to soon to judge Sweden for taking this approach even if I would have gone with lockdown from first day.@90 + 5min out of interest what other countries have used the same strategy? And what impact has it had?
A lot of people will watch two matches a day on telly if it comes back. Wouldn't a few million people stopping inside to watch telly a few hours a day reduce the R rate?R rate is going up in the UK...if it doesn't drop in the next 2 weeks there is no way we will see a return

If the virus has got in the home they'll get it anyway, eating together etc. There's a reason why the message was 'stay home'. Nice try though.Wouldn't people who have interacted at work and school then sitting together with family inside their home to watch football increase the R0?

Let us bloody start it up again! If they can do it in Germany so can the brittish clubs manage. Just make sure to put the players in quarentine if there is any issues.
