@Moby selling a costly player and buying back, especially when reinforcement round is more than half way through, is shit thing to do. There may not be rule in OP against it but everyone will end up doing it then at end of round and will spoil the fun.

It means they are up for sale on the open market, not like I am the only one who can bid on them. Not sure what's the issue here.

It's just quite unethical. There is no rule on it for sure, but it just feels like a very shit thing to do to refinance yourself and buy the same player at a lower price knowing fully well that nobody is going to go gung ho after him. Plus the competition is less considering many might already be stacked in that department and you have to bid against 7 other teams than 15.

I know but my point was that half of the remaining players are through with their team planning in this round and/or have McGrath's teammates in their squad and you know that. As I said, there are no rules against it but is obvious you are doing it to boost up budget and refinance.

Yeah. I was just going to point that out. Are you allowed to bid for players you've sold? It seems silly especially considering max bids here are 30m vs 50m+ in the previous round. Harshad can easy sell Sobers for 74m and buy him back for 50m to get another player in

Yes, rules do allow it. I wanted to point it out yesterday but thought since no one is doing it then let it be. Bought players should always be sold back at base price for this reason if they went for more than that otherwise 0m. Might be too late now but @Samid since this will break the game. There is no reason for every not not to sell their 30m+ players and then buy them back to inflate their budgets.

That's not game breaking in any way though. Everyone is entitled to decide to throw their own players back into the auction which means risking them being bought by others. If what you are suggesting happens it will only mean that the reinforcement pool will include players from our teams as well and they will be up for auction. In an extreme scenario of that we will basically have a full re-auctioning of all the players picked in the initial draft, with all of us having our full budget + reinforcement addition. Which is completely fair and doesn't give anyone any unfair advantage.

All that would have been fine if this was done before the Reinforcement Round began. The timing of doing this is the bigger issue not just selling a player and bidding for him again Presently, you have a situation where 12Oz and I have exhausted our budget on 2 players. Had we known McGrath was also going to be made available, we may have bid differently.

Can we cancel a bid?

We'd like the McGrath stuff cleared up before we make our next bid. Jumped the gun a bit with the Warne bid due to miscom in our PMs. Sorry

Yup. That's what I too said to Moby that the timing of doing it, when we are more than half way through this reinforcement round is the issue. If you release player at start of reinforcement round, nobody bids for him and you think that you are better off having him back, that's fair, even if you end up boosting budget in that case because you have given others fair chance to go for that player.

If yes, please cancel your yesterday's random bid for Akram as well which made me pay up 5M unnecessarily, you cheeky fecker :D

That was a no lose for us. The idea behind that was, if I got him for 32m or less it was a direct swap for Waqar + (money) because I would've then sold Waqar back.

Yeah, I know. Hence straightaway went to 33 from 30 instead of 32 :)

Surely, there should be a rule that you can get back a max of x amount of money if you're selling him back apart from the 10m penalty. Else there is nothing stopping everyone from selling their 50m plus players and buying them back for 25-30m

So where do we stand with this? Can we continue bidding or are we on Hiatus?
@Samid wake the feck up!

I didn't write the rules. The rules said you can sell the players at any time in the middle of the auction, not just at the start of it.

You guys can still sell the players you have bought or have the bids on if you wanna enter the auction for McGrath.

The timing of the bids is a part of any auction anyway. You can't tell everyone how to manage their assets, it is upto them.

Its complete horse shit @Samid. It will reward people who overpaid for players in R1 who can then sell them and buy them back at a lower price. IT breaks what we were trying to achieve in R1.

The maths doesn't agree with that. Run a simulation and tell me how anyone ends up with any kind of advantage.

Edit: And anyway that is only academic, since it is completely within the rules.

Anyone ending up buying players they've previously sold in this round will start the next round with a 1 vote deficit (per player). Yes 'everyone is allowed to do it' but the point of this round is to reinforce and quickly move on to the next round, not sell all your expensive players and buy them back on a cheap. We'd be here until the summer if we did that and quite frankly it makes a mockery of the draft.

From the next reinforcement round the sell back fee will be 30m and you won't be able to buy any players you've previously owned.

And bids that have been posted can't be cancelled. That's always been the case. Check stuff and calculate before posting.

Sorry but that's unacceptable. I'm not gonna take a penalty for following the rules correctly.

We didn't miscalculate - we're well within budget. We just wanted clarification on this McGrath situation

In case of any dispute, game runner will have the final say
You should have thought about that when allowing everyone to sell players at any time during the auction for a 10m cut, not my fault that your rules aren't aligned with your objective.

You're having a laugh if you think I'm gonna take a punishment because you missed out important details in the rules. If you are changing the rules then restart the reinforcement round with the revised rules, else continue with what was written. No other way as far as I am concerned.
