Copa del Rey - 2017/18

The lack of yellow cards Barca opponents get is downright laughable

I've noticed Messi doesn't pass the ball to Gomes, seems he doesn't trust him at all, even when he's free on the right, very strange.

Defenders can literally take strip Messi from his shirt and no foul given

Does he think that? Strange, since his position in Benfica's academy and first team was #8. Only more recently did he start playing in the wings, apparently in Spain managers dig a lot of flat 4-4-2 with central midfielders on the wings.

Well I don't really know what he thinks about himself but that's what he transmits to me, when Paulinho goes to link up right after he passes the ball he tries to attack spaces or at least create distance, Gomes stays there like "give it back to me and then you run, I'll find a pass", that's something he's not good at imo

Please score, Valencia, and make this game interesting

Coutinho with the goal out of nothing.

Suarez with a play like that in 2018? Did he fix his knee cyst or what's up?

Man, Suarez is a prick but I wish our forwards has his mentality to fight for everything like he does, Sanchez is similar in that respect to him but we need more players who refuse to give up and rather harass the defenders relentlessly.

Suarez is back to being the best number 9 in the world these past 3-4 months. Complete turnaround from the beginning of the season.

Really harsh result for Valencia. If they had taken their chances in the first half the game would have been completely different. When you face a team with Suarez (he is another player this season) and Messi you don't have to make any mistake.

Huge boost for Uruguay and their WC aspirations as well, nothing better for them than Cavani and Suarez entering the summer in flying form. @antohan

Aye, I was resigned to having seen the best of Suárez. Will be a huge boost, although the primary worry is Godín.

Not going or excited at all. Probably the worst draw in a World Cup ever. Absolutely shite locations, first game is always our banana skin and Egypt looks like one, then feckin' Saudi and to top those two security/bomb scares we settle group standings in the third game with the hosts.

feck that, two years of expectation ruined inside an hour.

Is it really strange that he doesn't trust Andre Gomes?

To the point he doesn't pass him the ball when he's open, yeah, that's very strange and quite unprofessional, even from the best player of all time. A.Gomes isn't the one legged player people like to believe he is.

Is that a friendly greeting in Uruguayan? :smirk:

Because when he passes the ball to gomes open on the right, the ball simply comes back, so he's cutting the middle man. Also, I'd trust messi's criteria on who is shit playing football and who should get the ball during a game, gomes has had two seasons of chances and has yet to do anything good, yesterday he couldn't even cross properly and almost cost the team a goal.

:D this. Besides, I've never seen such an unproductive player be given so many chances at Barcelona. He literally doesn't excel at anything, he isn't fast, he doesn't dribble, doesn't get into the box, his passing is average (he never risks any pass, and prefers to play it back), his positional awareness and defensive work are quite poor. You really can't play him when you have Coutinho (or even Paulinho) on the bench, I hope Valverde sees that.

Gomes was so shit that Valverdi subbed him at half time.

Don't worry, we suck.
