Copa del Rey - 2017/18

In fairness, everyone that watched us in the Ney seasons wouldn't see a lot of good things from Alba, and specially in the last two. I'd understand if someone got to see him in big games and a couple scarce ones and thought that he didn't offer anything in attack and was a subpar defender compared to a specialist LB or even Mathieu.

Guess we just have to be glad no one came looking for him with a good offer, because we probably would've sold him in those seasons thinking that with Ney, we didn't need his projection on attack
It was infuriating to watch Alba make so many good runs down the flank and then Neymar completely ignore him.

We didn’t have a proper right back last season either, so we basically had no play down the flanks and the middle of the pitch was always congested.

Messi has become less of a goalscorer in the last years, but he has reinvented himself as a great assist man. He is doing what Xavi used to do.

madrid-leganes, espanyol-cnutelona, pateticos-sevilla, Jorge Mendes FC-alaves

Love how they show our starting XI as a 4-5-1 when it's basically the same 433 with Messi as a false nine, nothing is left to chance if you can stir drama up for FC Barcelona

So glad to see how Montella outplayed tactically Simeone  Very smart played game by Sevilla!

I get that he's at a great level and can use the minutes, but seeing an injury prone guy like Vermaelen get so many minutes in consecutive matches...

Two very surprising results today. Barca will still go through though. They just didn't bother too much today. How many penalties has Messi missed recently?

Horrible performance. We created almost nothing from open play.

I kinda blame Messi for today's loss. Yes, we were terrible, and except a couple of our players, all were piss pure. But Messi had two chances near posts and he missed a penalty, after that he was kinda sulking the remaining game.
Losing 1-0 really makes the penalty miss look bad. And it should.

Barca will win at least 3-0 next week. It's also the first defeat in 4 months. It can happen.

Ironically the team lost their shape as soon as Paulinho went off otherwise they were never under any real threat - clearly underscores the need for a controlling CM. It also is a fairly convincing indictment on how poor Digne is - just not Barcelona level.

The state of RFEF officiating really was on display, made more egregious in a derby. No doubt Barcelona will be licking their chops to pummel them at Camp Nou but for one mitigating factor:

This has been...uhm.

Ref is very bad. Made this game worse than it should've been

Given we're gonna draw with goals at the bernabeu we seriously need to win this!

'Bout time he came out of hiberation

How did Real play? Didn't watch the game, but i guess they were very poor once again. They need a massive overhaul in the summer.

Isco came on with 10 minutes to go, made a couple good vertical passes and we suddenly looked like 1970 brazil by comparison. That's how poor we were

Your reserves look really poor or are not given a proper chance to impress. I thought Ceballos was "the next big thing" watching him at the Under-21 European Championship last summer.

Sevilla scored at home after 30secs against Atletico.

3-1 FT for Seville. Absolutely deserved win. Montella is finally getting his grip on the team.
